While this video is older, the concepts still apply. Watch a step-by-step exercise to create a dormer roof using Autodesk Revit Architecture
That attached wall/base at the end just saved the day, thank you!

Cool demo. I'm new to Revit and I have a question. In the real world a dormer's exterior walls bear on the roof structure just like you show it. I guess you would then add an interior wall bottom-constrained to the floor and top-constrained to the roof and align it to the interior of the dormer wall above. How then do you go about sheetrocking the interior of the roof opening to maintain a continuous interior finish from floor to ceiling inside the dormer?
After creating an opening in the roof, if we want to remove it, what should be done? How to get back to the original roof without any opening?
simply select the dormer window and press delete, it will be solid slope roof again.
I'm not sure if you're still active on this account. However, I'm having a problem joining my room to the dormer. I have a rather complex roof that the dormer is going into, and the error message just says "Can't join roofs". Is there a level of complexity where the roofs become unable to be adjoined?
None of the dormer tutorials cover eyebrow dormers, which are much more popular in europe than north america
