I’ve been doing the thing! 55 years old, 60 lbs overweight and went back to studying Martial Arts and took the first several steps to my own company. Really appreciate this podcast, Brother. Tango Mike!
Got a library card and now I can borrow most books online. I've been diving into Christian theology recently. For beginners I recommend "Everyone's a Theologian" by R.C. Sproul along with "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. For the down trodden and self loathing sinner, read "Gentle and Lowly" by Dane Ortlund. A book to confront the modern secularists of today, I recommend "Right Thinking for a Culture in Chaos" by Macarthur and Busenitz. This book tackles the most relevant issues of today and the immediate future regarding the degeneration, degradation, and destruction of a cohesive society. Lastly, read "Authority" by John Leeman and learn how to be a leader in the proper sense of the word. Honestly, if you're an adult male and are not reading, you're failing in life. Quit video games, quit porn, quit wasting time and grow your faith in God the right way.
Greetings from New Zealand. Another excellent message. I sell for American Income Life here in New Zealand, and I have gotten into a rut. So I have made the decision recently to stretch myself, and develop my own supply of contacts, it will take a little longer to create success, but it will give me greater independence. And this message is ideal for where I am at. And the quote you mentioned I believe goes as follows “ the man who does not read, has no advantage over the man who cannot read “ Mark Twain. Keep up the great work 🎉
You’re either improving or you’re eroding… I felt this. Never stop learning, never stop moving forward. Waking up early and reading, listening to something knowledgeable or a positive message is an undeniable helpful habit to help face the day to day challenges that may or may not arise. Either way I walk through with something positive I didn’t know the previous day.
