The venue was absolutely rammed solid (probably twice the legal capacity), and people only had enough space to kinda bounce on the spot. The rhythmic bouncing caused so much structural damage it was beyond repair. It was the last event to be held there, as the structural engineers who were called in to assess the damage afterwards condemned the building. Talk about bringing th house down!
they did the same at the leas cliff hall in folkestone - the building is built into the side of a cliff... apparently it moved a few inches. Motorhead didn't play there for almost ten years while the building was shored up and restrengthened. Their first gig back was really quiet, a year later they came back with girl school supporting..... my ears were still ringing 2 days later - Awesome show! (the building survived)
Funny story about this iconic song, according to Lemmy on the Behind the Music episode "Ace of Spades". Lemmy apparently wrote it in the studio when the producer went to get something to eat. Took him a matter of minutes to do the lyrics. He walked into the lounge and said "I've done it." Vic Maile, the producer, just said "Oh, f*** off, I haven't even had my sandwich yet."

This song is about Lemmy's love of gambling. "Fast" Eddie Clarke (RIP) was an amazing guitarist. Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (RIP) was an awesome drummer. "Killed by Death" was a hit for them.
And weirdly, though only if you're NOT British, frontman Lemmy, who passed 28th December 2015, was loved by us all, especially by us musicians, but more widely, simply for being who he was - the essence of a rough tough, gunslinger-rockstar, but also, quiet, VERY clever, and very, very funny & self-deprecating - stuff we love the most. He was a STAR, as was this line-up of his band, xxx
My favourite reactionists (not sure if thats a word) but you take reactionary videos to another level with your background knowledge and empathy. Keep up the good work!

I understand why people like lyric videos, especially when a performer may not have the best diction. Having said that, the second version had better sound quality. Such a great song. I've covered this one several times with a couple different bands and it is always fun! My kids make fun of my wife and I all the time because we don't fight! If band genre-typing is necessary, when it comes to Motörhead, they are best described by Lemmy’s own words at the opening of every show: “We are Motörhead and we play Rock & Roll!!” Lemmy never used any other description. Motörhead was a rock and roll band. Period.

Lemmy once said he made more money for co-writing songs on Ozzy's No More Tears album than he did from his entire time in Motorhead.

According to my parents, Motorhead was the one band that punk-rockers and metal-heads could agree on. I can definitely see where they're coming from.
Agreed ,and I was punk ,love motorhead

Punks love Venom as well
I know that Lemmy said that "they played rock", but this band was a real bridge between punk and heavy, a kind of hybrid.
