My husband died several years after we divorced. We continued seeing one another and talking, and even felt like we would end up back together. But he died before that happened. I keep his picture on my nightstand. I wish I had some of his sweet notes he wrote to me. Unfortunately I lost them in a Hurricane several years ago, and heartbreaking too, I lost the photos of our wedding and honeymoon in that storm. But no storm can take away the good memories.
I’m so sorry. This is painful. If anyone has the opportunity to learn how to scan photos and upload them to the internet, the cloud or even send them to yourself in your email - you never have lose photos again. Sometimes I don’t scan I simply take a close up photo of the photo with my phone and they turn out great. I recently learned this. I know most already know how to do these things. I lost some precious photos but I realized I never really looked at them anyway. Lol.
When my dad was dying with cancer that Christmas we four kids gave him toys he did not have growing up but always wanted, I gave him a train set, my brother fixed up an old bike, one sister gave him a game and the other sister gave him a model car to build. The look on his face was priceless like he was back at 6 years old again at Christmas. He died a month later without touching any of these, but he looked at them everyday dreaming I suppose. I miss him so much!

I have discovered many cassette tapes and notes that my husband left for me. I knew, just like you, that he loved me before I found all of the things he left. It is certainly a mystery as to why he felt he needed to leave these things for me. As I proceed though this new journey of life alone, I find so much comfort in seeing some of his possessions, his notes and someday I will listen to the dozens of tapes he left for me. Today is my sweet husband's birthday. Today is not my day to listen to songs and comments he left behind. You have been left with treasures of the heart. The love we give and receive is the greatest gift of all.
Funny how things are found at times you most need them. Before going back to our favorite place, over 2 yrs later after my husband's passing , I asked him to be with me . A large white feather came down right in front of me. I looked up and said, "You will be with me..." I cried and made sure my tears rolled down as I kept looking up.
I think you "found" the floppy disks and were able to open them at just the right time. You knew that Billy loved you and he left you the validation for your peace of mind.

I always decorated each holiday my Mom’s condo. Nothing over the top just things she could see on her coffee table or wreaths hanging on her bedroom door. It really helped her recognize the seasons/holidays as she got older. We would make an afternoon of it and I would always ask her where she wanted things placed. What you said about how in life we chase for things and how we just need to look at what is right in our lives all along was so true. I’ve been married going on 26 years to my soul mate. We have been through a lot of ups & downs. We lost our daughter in 2007 to a massive asthma attack . She was only 12 yrs. old. Her death brought us even closer instead of breaking us apart . I’m sorry for the loss of your husband. I would be so lonely without my husband even though we have a children & grandchildren. My mother treasured family photos even though she never owned a camera or took a photo. I think my father took up photography to feed her need for photos and she mounted them all in albums and added her artwork to the pages to link them into stories. She would tell us that if there was a fire, to save the photo albums first. I feel sorry for people today that don't have photos albums to treasure and look back with. Cell phone camera don't lend themselves to printing out actual photos that we can look at and treasure. I have relatives who call and ask to come and spend a few hours with the albums now and I'm always glad to share. I am always saddened when I see an old family photo albums in an antique store and I wonder where all the descendants are who did not treasure their history.
The timing of all this, must just be so emotional. For everything there is a time, a season. And this was the time. Such muddled emotions; warm, touching, “wishing I knew this sooner”. Sometimes people struggle to put feelings into words. As a writer, I can unload a multitude of feelings into simple sentences that I am unable to say, face to face. A dear writer friend of mine, once shared with me a thought about the written word. He said, when a writer loves you, you gain a bit of immortality, as you will show up in poems, prayers, stories and every sort of heartache put to pen. He was a caring mentor for me to lean on when the writer block stumbles. He died 3 years ago, but like you, he left me a legacy in his written word. How very blessed you are to have Bill pen this love for you. It lives on, in the heartache, the wistful smile and the cherished memory you shared. No one can rob you of this. It is yours, forever. Love never dies......
I think Fall decorations are my very favorite. Such warm beautiful colors. I don’t really change anything much for Spring & Summer. I love when Fall comes & I can bring out my favorite things. When it gets close to Halloween I add to the Fall decor. Can’t forget to add a little turkey for Thanksgiving. I used to have much more decor. I got rid of quite a bit because I can’t lift all the stuff out. My girlfriend really does the lifting & she complains she’s getting to old to do so much. I just tell her she’s a cranky old woman. Then she’ll see something on QVC for Fall decor & buy it. I’m so happy you found that piece of equipment to read the floppy disc. It was meant to be. I love that you framed Bill’s poem. Whenever I would visit my mom in Wisconsin, I always took a trip to a St. Vincent de Paul in Port Washington - you could not find it the first time unless by happy accident. Once I did, I always went back and I always found such beautiful mid century Madonnas there. I love having Mary throughout my home. Remember how Francesca, in Under the Tuscan Sun, talked about Mary's presence in Italy? As if she were "Aunt Mary," she was that familiar to them.

At this point in my life, age 64, the most precious thing I've inherited are the memories of the wonderful, funny, quirky, annoying, and above all, loving family I was oh so lucky to have. My friends accused me of growing up in Beaver Cleaver's house. No, my mother didn't mop the floor in a dress and pearls. She worked full-time at the local department store. My dad didn't wear a suit to work; he worked rotating shifts at a local factory. They worked hard to make sure my sister and I had everything we needed and an awful lot of what we wanted. My inheritance was given to me all my life, every day, from those who loved me most.

I had a very hard week my sister-in-law died and my daughter's mother-in-law died day after each other very sad. Maybe, when Bill was contemplative, he could perceive the notion of love, togetherness, and the warm-fuzziness of being loved and in love with you, but in the day in and day out of daily life, with challenges and driving forces - it was not in the cards. But still, using his talent for writing, he let you know what was in his mind and heart - and that you would read it and take it to your heart when it was the right time.
It's called chasing an illusion. We all do that without realizing it until it is too late or so much time has passed that recovery does not matter anymore because we have moved on. I was always told you'll find love when you least expect it and aren't expecting to. I think that applies to many things such as a couple trying aggressively to conceive for years then giving up or taking a vacation and Wammo! "When you least expect it but God or fate whichever you choose has decided it's the right time. Losing someone you love is one of the hardest things we go through and I can't help but think you found it when it was the right time. Bill's love for you is there in his words for you to see and hold close when you need it now more than ever. I feel the same about missing the birds when they leave. I miss the bird song and seeing them amongst all the garden flowers. I'm thinking of putting a mural with all my favorite birds in my home. My prayers are with you take care and be good to yourself.

While Bill was alive you had him with you. Now that he is gone you still want him or his spirit to give you peace. A piece of Bill and you are in those writings. It means more now to unlock those pieces of Bill. I do love your little fall decorations. I wish I had that want to to do something like that. I used to call my Aunts house the house of poo poos. Little pieces of things that make life beautiful.
Just some leaves and a pumpkin or a cute squirrel is all you need to add fall inside. And fresh pinecone of different sizes. You can add gold or silver paint or some ribbon for color. If you want to bring the birds close, add pb and bird seed and the birds 🐦will love you. And it's fun to do this with the little ones and hang on a branch. You can cut pinecones and they will look like sunflowers. Then just hot glue to a wreath and and some ribbon. I remember when you found the bedding. Where do you find the cute bow ties? My brother recently adopted a Yorkie named Brody. My brother is his first male owner but his 3rd owner. Brody is just over 4 years old and the other 2 owners passed away. He has a solid black cat named Shadow. They are his children. Neither one of us had 2 legged children.
Hi Little Poet is good to see you, loving your fall decorating. Lovely you were able to unlock the words he carried in his heart. Things come when we are ready to receive them and those poems were part of that. You weren't ready for them before but you are now. A keepsake of the good times he had with you and his perspective that laid within him. It will be part of your healing from love, complete acceptance and transcending past all of it. You don't have to worry anymore of the past. Things played out how they were suppose to and you did the best you could with what you had and knew back then. I think you did great!!! I’m so sorry. This is painful. If anyone has the opportunity to learn how to scan photos and upload them to the internet, the cloud or even send them to yourself in your email - you never have lose photos again. Sometimes I don’t scan I simply take a close up photo of the photo with my phone and they turn out great. I recently learned this. I know most already know how to do these things. I lost some precious photos but I realized I never really looked at them anyway. Lol.
When my dad was dying with cancer that Christmas we four kids gave him toys he did not have growing up but always wanted, I gave him a train set, my brother fixed up an old bike, one sister gave him a game and the other sister gave him a model car to build. The look on his face was priceless like he was back at 6 years old again at Christmas. He died a month later without touching any of these, but he looked at them everyday dreaming I suppose. I miss him so much!

I have discovered many cassette tapes and notes that my husband left for me. I knew, just like you, that he loved me before I found all of the things he left. It is certainly a mystery as to why he felt he needed to leave these things for me. As I proceed though this new journey of life alone, I find so much comfort in seeing some of his possessions, his notes and someday I will listen to the dozens of tapes he left for me. Today is my sweet husband's birthday. Today is not my day to listen to songs and comments he left behind. You have been left with treasures of the heart. The love we give and receive is the greatest gift of all.
Funny how things are found at times you most need them. Before going back to our favorite place, over 2 yrs later after my husband's passing , I asked him to be with me . A large white feather came down right in front of me. I looked up and said, "You will be with me..."
I cried and made sure my tears rolled down as I kept looking up.

I always decorated each holiday my Mom’s condo. Nothing over the top just things she could see on her coffee table or wreaths hanging on her bedroom door. It really helped her recognize the seasons/holidays as she got older. We would make an afternoon of it and I would always ask her where she wanted things placed. She especially loved Thanksgiving and Christmas.

What you said about how in life we chase for things and how we just need to look at what is right in our lives all along was so true. I’ve been married going on 26 years to my soul mate. We have been through a lot of ups & downs. We lost our daughter in 2007 to a massive asthma attack . She was only 12 yrs. old. Her death brought us even closer instead of breaking us apart . I’m sorry for the loss of your husband. I would be so lonely without my husband even though we have a children & grandchildren. My mother treasured family photos even though she never owned a camera or took a photo. I think my father took up photography to feed her need for photos and she mounted them all in albums and added her artwork to the pages to link them into stories. She would tell us that if there was a fire, to save the photo albums first. I feel sorry for people today that don't have photos albums to treasure and look back with. Cell phone camera don't lend themselves to printing out actual photos that we can look at and treasure. I have relatives who call and ask to come and spend a few hours with the albums now and I'm always glad to share. I am always saddened when I see an old family photo albums in an antique store and I wonder where all the descendants are who did not treasure their history.
The timing of all this, must just be so emotional. For everything there is a time, a season. And this was the time. Such muddled emotions; warm, touching, “wishing I knew this sooner”. The fulfillment of now knowing? True love, caring never really died. You have it with you, in your heArt forever. Peace. Your somewhat bittersweet moments, showing on your face. Just touching. Hugs.

Sometimes people struggle to put feelings into words. As a writer, I can unload a multitude of feelings into simple sentences that I am unable to say, face to face. A dear writer friend of mine, once shared with me a thought about the written word. He said, when a writer loves you, you gain a bit of immortality, as you will show up in poems, prayers, stories and every sort of heartache put to pen. He was a caring mentor for me to lean on when the writer block stumbles. He died 3 years ago, but like you, he left me a legacy in his written word. How very blessed you are to have Bill pen this love for you. It lives on, in the heartache, the wistful smile and the cherished memory you shared. No one can rob you of this. It is yours, forever. Love never dies......
I think Fall decorations are my very favorite. Such warm beautiful colors. I don’t really change anything much for Spring & Summer. I love when Fall comes & I can bring out my favorite things. When it gets close to Halloween I add to the Fall decor. Can’t forget to add a little turkey for Thanksgiving. I used to have much more decor. I got rid of quite a bit because I can’t lift all the stuff out. My girlfriend really does the lifting & she complains she’s getting to old to do so much. I just tell her she’s a cranky old woman. Then she’ll see something on QVC for Fall decor & buy it. I’m so happy you found that piece of equipment to read the floppy disc. It was meant to be. I love that you framed Bill’s poem. That is a beautiful thing to do. It gives it so much more meaning. I really think you should add some more words to the poem & write some beautiful music. I loved your little friends at the farm. Whenever I would visit my mom in Wisconsin, I always took a trip to a St. Vincent de Paul in Port Washington - you could not find it the first time unless by happy accident. Once I did, I always went back and I always found such beautiful mid century Madonnas there. I love having Mary throughout my home. Remember how Francesca, in Under the Tuscan Sun, talked about Mary's presence in Italy? As if she were "Aunt Mary," she was that familiar to them.

At this point in my life, age 64, the most precious thing I've inherited are the memories of the wonderful, funny, quirky, annoying, and above all, loving family I was oh so lucky to have. My friends accused me of growing up in Beaver Cleaver's house. No, my mother didn't mop the floor in a dress and pearls. She worked full-time at the local department store. My dad didn't wear a suit to work; he worked rotating shifts at a local factory. They worked hard to make sure my sister and I had everything we needed and an awful lot of what we wanted. My inheritance was given to me all my life, every day, from those who loved me most.

I had a very hard week my sister-in-law died and my daughter's mother-in-law died day after each other very sad. Maybe, when Bill was contemplative, he could perceive the notion of love, togetherness, and the warm-fuzziness of being loved and in love with you, but in the day in and day out of daily life, with challenges and driving forces - it was not in the cards. But still, using his talent for writing, he let you know what was in his mind and heart - and that you would read it and take it to your heart when it was the right time.
It's called chasing an illusion. We all do that without realizing it until it is too late or so much time has passed that recovery does not matter anymore because we have moved on. Susan, your an artist and a writer in your own sense. Compose music to Bill's words & meanings It can help with healing from losing him. Loved the decor. When my husband realized he was gonna die he said to me. You do know I love right. It was important to him that I knew. I don't think he demonstrated it enough or so he thought. I knew. He treated me better than any other guy ever. But he never said. He just called me baby. ❤️

I was always told you'll find love when you least expect it and aren't expecting to. I think that applies to many things such as a couple trying aggressively to conceive for years then giving up or taking a vacation and Wammo! "When you least expect it but God or fate whichever you choose has decided it's the right time. Losing someone you love is one of the hardest things we go through and I can't help but think you found it when it was the right time. Bill's love for you is there in his words for you to see and hold close when you need it now more than ever. I feel the same about missing the birds when they leave. I miss the bird song and seeing them amongst all the garden flowers. I'm thinking of putting a mural with all my favorite birds in my home. My prayers are with you take care and be good to yourself.

Just some leaves and a pumpkin or a cute squirrel is all you need to add fall inside. And fresh pinecone of different sizes. You can add gold or silver paint or some ribbon for color. If you want to bring the birds close, add pb and bird seed and the birds 🐦will love you. And it's fun to do this with the little ones and hang on a branch. You can cut pinecones and they will look like sunflowers. Then just hot glue to a wreath and and some ribbon. I remember when you found the bedding. Where do you find the cute bow ties? My brother recently adopted a Yorkie named Brody. My brother is his first male owner but his 3rd owner. Brody is just over 4 years old and the other 2 owners passed away. He has a solid black cat named Shadow. They are his children. Neither one of us had 2 legged children.

Things come when we are ready to receive them and those poems were part of that. You weren't ready for them before but you are now. A keepsake of the good times he had with you and his perspective that laid within him. It will be part of your healing from love, complete acceptance and transcending past all of it. You don't have to worry anymore of the past. Things played out how they were suppose to and you did the best you could with what you had and knew back then. I think you did great!!!
