    My dad stopped an armed robbery at a Safeway once. Guy was trying to reach for his knife to stab my dad and everyone just watched. He managed to get the knife away from the guy and held him till cops showed up, but not a single other person helped him. There's not many people who will actually help in a dangerous situation.

      I would've stopped him during the attack and not after when he was no longer a threat to the employee once he walked away. Attacking him after he was leaving and was no longer a threat, also adding the fact he did not assault the guy who took him down just leaves yourself open to be charged for the assault and also sued in civil court. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

    I have to commend and respect him for being a good samaritan. However, I did that once and was charged with assault and battery. No punches. Only separated 2 aggressors. I was charged, it went to trial. I lost. 90 days in jail. 6 months mens anger group meetings that I had to pay for.
    I will never get involved ever again and only will be a spectator.

Our brains take a moment to process extreme behavior in places you don’t expect it. That reaction time IMO was fast. Don’t believe me? Go watch the video again and count the time from the hit to the point the young man put his phone away to free up his hands.

    I did the same shit & ended up in cuffs with 1yr probation & 32hrs of anger management classes, in court I literally watched the jugde tell the attacker: “you are free tongo have a blessed day” … guess the law doesn’t work the same for all of us
