- In this video, I’m reviewing Angel’s Share by Kilian, a fragrance that brings a luxurious blend of boozy and woody notes to life. I’ll dive into how the rich cognac accord instantly transports you to an opulent evening, with smooth oak wood, praline, and cinnamon adding layers of warmth and depth. This scent feels like sipping a fine drink by a crackling fire, with its intoxicating yet comforting vibe. If you love fragrances that are both bold and cozy, Angel’s Share is a masterpiece you need to try. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more in-depth fragrance reviews!

@@phantomplastics6582 thanks so much! I appreciate all the support 😊
I've smelled both angel share and Khamrah a decent amount. It's definitely based on it to a massive degree, but not exactly the same as the date accord and slight spiciness of Khamrah makes it smell distinctly more middle eastern. Both of them have amazing longevity but angel share definitely has more depth over time as you smell it. I have a 10mL decent of oajan as well and it's definitely more cinnamon heavy than the other two. I'm an advocate for wearing what you want when you want but I can't bring myself to wear oajan on hotter days because it feels way too pungent
@@wattamugen4055 this scent family is relatively easy to replicate because a lot of the fine nuances get lost in the sweetness. No wonder you see a lot of successful clones with this DNA.
I like Angel’s Share the most because it comes across as slightly more refined.
To be fair... the OG of this concept is Ambre Narguile by Hermes (which is a masterpiece). Both Angel's Share and Oajan are "very inspired" by the Hermes.
@@smcruz9803 absolutely! I’m totally aware of that but the Hermes is not easy to get (outside of official channels), expensive and has worse performance. There is no real reason to own that unless you are into the idea of paying homage to the OG (which is totally fine also) or if you are fond of the small nuances.
@@SeldomlyOften I have the Oajan and Ambre Narguile (and Angel's Share sample). Ambre Narguile have a good perfomance with my skin (7 hours and middling projection, which is the best case for me, since I don't like very strong fragances).
We don't have an official channel to get Angel's Share here in Brazil. So here to get the 100ml of the Hermes is way cheaper than the Kilian here.
I really enjoyed angel share and yes they are expensive but it’s worth having. The blue moon ginger dash is also surprisingly good and lasts really well.
never tried the blue moon ginger dash, is it still in production, never even seen it.
Yes definitely out, released in Asia about 4-5 months ago. Definitely worth a try and reminded me of something by Goldfield & Banks but I can’t exactly recall which one…
@@markeletr sounds interesting, I'll check it out when I have a chance :)
niche mainstream brand and fragrance. Personally, I quite like it, but not enough to consider a purchase. Smells great on ladies. Thank you for the review, Daniel!
@@andrei-cosmin.popa85 I like it too and if it weren’t for the purchase ‘opportunity’ I had, I probably wouldn’t have gotten it. I still think it’s a great frag though.
Salut mon ami ;-) talking about comparisons or similar frags, maybe you don't know, all that fragrances you mentioned are actually sons (not to say very inspired lol) of Hermes Ambre Narguilé released in the early 00s.
Talking Angels share, imo it's too screaming, a bit too much woody ambers. I would prefer Ambre Narguilé that I find more refined & elegant but not as beast.
@@franceiroca I just wish they would be more readily available 😔
I like, but don't quite love this one. The scent is nice, but it wears a bit thin on me. I wish it was a bit richer and lasted a bit longer. Darren Alan, who is one of my favorite perfumers/houses, has a similar scent called Devil's Share that is a good alternative and a touch darker, with cacao and tobacco in the base. If you like neo-vintage frags, check him out. His Chypre No. 1 (a loving homage to Coty Chypre), Dorian's Fougere, Fetes de Noel (inspired by Caron Nuit de Noël), Bathory, and Hekate are all fantastic. Fragrance Vault just started carrying his line and they ship internationally!
@@boogiedaddy3434 cool! I’ll check those out!
All Kilian are “thin” on me, I think it’s just the brand and I’ve sort of learned to embrace it.
In a way, I actually prefer thin on AS, it would be too gourmand and cloying otherwise.
I was away for a moment, I'm glad to see this channel is growing, it is well deserved for sure.
As for the Angel's Share, I checked alternatives or similar scent profiles that you mentioned. I still like the OG more. I bought Khamrah out of curiosity and it's not doing it for me, it smells a bit cheap I have to say.
I love Oajan and I can see the similarities, although I could wear Oajan on a daily basis, Angel's Share is more a going out type of fragrance for me.
And I would recommand another alternative, again, similar scent profile, cheaper but still, the quality is here : Nirvana by Paradis des Sens. A boozy, woody and deep scent, with cinnamon, vanilla and tonka bean.
Thank you for this review :)
@@Medoriel thanks for the comment! Totally agree with your assessment of Angel’s Share, that is why I like it 👍
I love this scent profile but i have to be honest with you. I had decants of oajan and angels share, and i am not happy with strenght of either. I would like them to be way more powerful. They do not project off my skin. I might go for ATH - addicted or Alexandria - brooklyn fragrance lover
@@Principemostprincipe what the Alexandria a clone of? I’m all for power but I wouldn’t want to add any sweetness or synthetic volume as a trade off
Fievre Verte (was once L'heure Verte) is interesting and pretty nice in my opinion. I think it's supposed to give an absinthe vibe, but personally the licorice note gives almost an anise dominant feel that reminds me of sambuca or ouzo.. it is overall still sweet and licorice-candy like to me but theres a nice array of bitter and spicy aromatics there. Something in that similar feel that id recommend looking for samples of is Stora Skuggan's Hexensalbe. More bitter proportionally but the vibe is still there i think.
@@ethanrrs the opening is really realistic absinthe! As soon as the booze goes it becomes mellow and smooth. I like it a lot although I didn’t wear it a ton. Yet 😉
I own AS and I can say is a very good fragrance. Also I would recommend as an alternative: Addicted by ATH. Is less than the half of price
@@EJM-Essentials ATH frags are impossible to get where I live and are quite expensive, I’ll look into it 👍
It was a blind buy for me I love it but honestly I’m waiting for winter to start using it and experience its true potential and Hype.
@@ra.j7210 yes, this would really suite a cozy vibe. Honestly, I’ve been in Rome for the past week and can really use some cold cozy temps 😜
For this genre, I still pick Ambre Narguile the og.
@@benedictchua8519 I had a chance to try the Hermes, if the availability and price were right I would also go for that but it’s not worth the hassle (to me) given the excellent options
Yup, my hunch about this was spot on. Sounds nice but I’ll pass.
@@nathanielmoody3656 definitely sample a cheaper option from the scent family and ONLY then evaluate if something like AS is worth it to you
Gotta say that you’re the best perfume reviewer fr, appreciated.

Kamrah is a nice perfume but complely different. I got a compliment wearing angels share but it was my birthday otherwise i never get compliments, thank god. I dont like strangers talking to me 😅. I've liked all kilian perfumes i've tried buy they are too expensive. Thank god for dossier.
@@yassercastillo2607 I’m kind of curious about Kamrah at this point but I don’t want to get a bottle, I literally don’t have space or time for it.
@@SeldomlyOften yeah i got a decant
Ugh gonna skip this one, too much hype about this one.
I would love to get a sospiro basso or orto parisi viride review
@@shawn6170 Sospiro Basso is just as hyped in my opinion. Paradoxically Angel’s Share is almost for the refined now that there are so many cheaper alternatives on the market. It’s the scent family itself that is no longer novel.
@@SeldomlyOften Totally agree on Basso. I was wishing for one until I tried it: Expected a better version of a somewhat Roja Oligarch/IsolaBlu, but it ended being a pale version of that.
@@sinestesio I’ve yet to find a Sospiro that really does it for me. I’ll keep looking!
For that price i could buy a bottle of Amouage.I think the y have 50ml bottles. Not worth the price for what they offer.
@@Eirini80 I agree BUT you have to consider that Amouage has nothing that smells like this and as much as I love Amouage ,and I would choose them over pretty much everything, if you want a sweet gourmand like the Kilian there is no real option from the house.
@@Eirini80 LOL! I have this thought in my head because some amouage on discounters is unbelievable value but sometimes you gotta accept you want a certain scent profile and pay the money. I can get most amouage around £150-175 but if you use that logic you’ll have a miserable time justifying your other fragrances.
@@SeldomlyOften Probably i would pick a cheaper alternative for this scent profile...
@@Eirini80 yes, there are many cheaper good frags in this family no doubt, that’s why I ultimately don’t recommend AS 😉
@@SeldomlyOften The only one that i would buy even on a high price ,if i could find, is ambre narguile. Why did they discontinue such a perfume?
Love this one! Still cant really get behind gourmand (and especially alcoholic beverages) perfume on me tho, and idk about the price, there are similar scents for much less ( frustration by eldo is very good and has prominent rum note (which is somewhat similar to cognac used in this), plus is not from a conglomerate giant like estee lauder)
Oh and armanis stronger with you has a similar vibe for fraction of the price. I think people will like it if they like angels share
@@DmitrysPerfume interesting about the ELDO! I don’t like the Armani, the scent is bland and the name is really low effort; I know, I’m being picky about trivial things 😅
@@SeldomlyOften haha yea i can see that. Never bought it as something is missing there
„I ve tried worse“😂👌
@@nataliyarichei oh hi ❤️

@@ryanmelville638 LOL
What do you mean a smell like ass? 😂
Maybe the woods?
@@SeldomlyOften I hate it I can’t pinpoint not sure if it was the woods but no thanks. I wore it twice and it’s confirm LOL beautiful fragrance but that part I hate the most so I bought MFK OUD SATIN MOOD OMG THAT’S SEX IN BOTTLE.
@@ryanmelville638 I love how people can experience things in a completely different way! I have the Extrait of Oud Satin Mood and it’s perfection!
Nothing wrong with buying fragrances for compliments. Your money, your choice. To each their own.
@@silentsir2446 sure! I would argue that if you are looking for compliments alone, Angel’s Share is an expensive option, most people won’t tell it apart from other stuff with the same DNA
I hear often (and respect the take) that Angel Share is one among several better amber boozy scents, and widely regarded as no longer the best, if it ever was. I personally love it. It's the feeling it gives me when I wear it that makes it the best to me, not the scent or presentation or compliment factor. But as a whole I totally understand your feelings on it. I also think that as time goes on and I experience more fragrances my pallet may evolve to want more from the artistry of scents, like yours. It makes me happy you at least don't think it's trash haha. I'd love to hear your take on more Killians
@@xzaeger Angel’s Share is awesome and I’m not going to hate on it for no reason. I still think it’s among the most refined from this family even if the scent profile itself is relatively simplistic. Kilian makes great frags, very perfumy and wearable which means, for better or for worse, that they might lack creativity and experimentation
Daniel, YOU smell AMAZING...!!! 🤗
@@Ilovetolove7834 thanks, I put a ton of effort in it 🤣
Your reviews keep getting better and better. Loving the comparison and alternatives, very helpful as a reference point. You should try Byredo Vanille Antique. It’s an amber vanilla but with a plum note that makes it more unique and interesting. I can send you a sample ( I have two ). Keep up the good work!
@@theworkingkitchen7325 thanks! I have very little experience with Byredo, I’ll try to check it out. I would love to receive samples but living in Switzerland means it might not be worth the hassle to send them.
@@SeldomlyOften they’re a bit overrated in comparison to other niche , and they don’t make many heavy scents as per your preference. Like a Swedish le labo in aesthetic but not one note centred. Some of their perfumes are very popular in London, namely bal d’afrique that’s how I got introduced to them. my wife bought me a discovery set (26x 2ml samples!) with a voucher to buy a full bottle at about €190 euro all included which I think is quite a good deal. 26 samples will definitely help you check out the brand and you’ll definitely find something full bottle worthy I’d hope haha. It kept me busy for a while. Might be good for content having so many samples for your first impression vids.

@@IrregularTangent yes, you really need to wear it multiple times to get to know it. It’s also just a matter of respect towards the perfumer and their intentions
