One thing I love when people do fragrance reviews is when it’s sprayed on skin and they wear it!! They let the dry down happen ect and live their normal day and then give their opinion … instead of spraying on a test strip and smelling the opening or top notes and making judgement … well done more of this please ❤
I always love it when your videos incorporate your music. As a musician and lover of music in general, it's fun to see how folk warm up and get ready for a gig (or rehearsal in this case). Cheers!
I have mine arriving tomorrow, my favorite cocktail & hopefully one of my favorite scents. This video also made me miss playing the trumpet and regret switching to the clarinet when I was a kid. Love this format!
To me, it smells similar to Plum in Cognac. Also want to say I throughly enjoy this style of content. No one I watch does content like this. Keep it up Justin.
I have a decant of Apple Brandy on the Rocks... only given it one wearing.. it has an evolution to it in the initial drydown.. but then becomes a little linear on my skin.. but it was quite pleasant.. may be a full bottle.. but I have to give it a few more wearings... SIDENOTE.. Please continue to share your music with us 🙏
Justin, You are Number One!!! Two reasons I treasure 2nd Soul--It's a beautiful fragrance that unfolds perfectly; and it always connects me with my favorite perfume connoisseur AND Trumpeter. Loved the Etude.
I remember when I first tried to play the trumpet in 6th grade, and I just couldn’t do it lol. I was able to play the trombone a little bit, but I fell in love with the saxophone. I would love to try playing it again now that I’m older and my lungs have more power lol, great video. I may pick up this fragrance for a fall scent.
I tried it at store yesterday on skin, I can still smell it on my arm!!! It developed really nicely and also the dry down is amazing. I think I'm gonna get one later.
Justoin..💀😂 Killian is such a great brand tho, love moonlight in heaven, really underrated one imo, shield of protection is a sleeper too, my favorite would still have to be intoxicated 💯 Btw the trumpet intermezzo was really cool, im studying music rn, but never did music theory before, the fact that you can read music and play exactly what you are reading in real time is actually crazy to me, very inspiring 🙏
@@stayfreshproductions Been having to learn in a week what is apparently normally learnt over the course of a couple years, my brain is fried but it’s really fun, algebra was easier than this tho😂 I can kinda sing what im reading now but theres so much to learn about the theory its crazy
I sold my angels share to get old fashioned. I love how subtle it is, it has the perfect amount of sweetness to me and that wheat note is interesting. Simply put, it’s amazing 👌🏻😮💨
Greetings! I believe the note of wheat is likely a nod to a wheated bourbon - think Pappy Van Winkle or any of the Weller whiskies. Taking that into consideration, I think it was very innovative to use wheat as a note instead of simply listing bourbon.
Great review Justoin! Def going to sample this. I have my trusty Vintage ready for fall, along with Fieldnotes from Paris, Amouage Journey Man, Musc Enscence, Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum. Need one more banger for fall/winter.
U da man, Justin! I dig the vlog style, always learn something, and enjoy the tunes. Also, the band practice pictures are priceless! 🤣🤣😁🤌🏼. Come on 100k!!!!!
I do understand the want for a glass cap, and I partly agree, but I do agree it would be problematic. Not only would you possibly lose the bottle and cap, but you might also lose a toe in the process. I enjoy these scent profiles, but I don't think I'd ever wear them. Definitely wouldn't want to get pulled over wearing this one... Ouch!
Interesting, and thank you Justin. I actually went on a sniff field trip and put Apple Brandy and Angel's Share on strip to ruminate over recently. If Old Fashioned does smell more like Apple Brandy, I think I would be inclined to chose it. The apple note gave more of a immature sweetness, even though I appreciated the fresher scent to AS. I will certainly need to see when a Sephora or Ulta near me will get it in stock to investigate.
This and your eau forte vid were very fun to watch as we see you not only giving your insight on new fragrances, but also you playing music. Would love to see more of this type of vids. Might also get into jazz more 😂
Love these types of videos! Side note, currently sampling Lunar Vetiver on the arm and woww what a recommendation. Definitely full bottle worthy in the future
I love the style of these "For a Day' videos. Chill and vlog style with how a fragrance changes and reacts throughout the day 👌 edit: love the Brass instrument class segment too 😊👍
I used to play trumpet in high school! Honestly loved the little segment of you talking about music! Wish I could get more of that 😅. Also, I hope Grace will make in appearance in another video soon!! It’s been a while 😩
Great video Justin. I purchased the travel spray of Old Fashion last week from Sephora and I thought the same thing that it reminded me of Apple Brandy On the Rocks. That’s the first thing that came to my mind hence why I came to the resolve that I’m not buying a full bottle. Thanks for the honest review.
I tried Single Malt in 2018 and didn't care for it. I tried it at various times for one year before giving it away. I think the boozy notes are better on men than women. Thank you for sharing a bit of yours and Grace's life with us Justin. Keep up the good work!
Any chance to review Casamorati (Xerjoff) Fiero? You like fougere style I guess this could be a banger. There is only a few videos on this one, thanks!
Man, rough day. Maybe Justoin is the name you use when you're having this type of day. Great video, nonetheless. I'm glad you brought the trumpet out. Thanks for the comparison to Apple Brandy on the Rocks.
Appreciate the take Justin. Sucks about those rehearsal pics. 😆 The gold standard should be video mode on any phone I feel. Would've loved to have heard some phat tune-skis with the gang. 🎺🥃 I suppose a drink will have to do. 😁 Cheers!
I wasn't wowed by Old Fashioned either; My husband liked it, but it's not at the top of his list. I happen to really like to hear you play. I find it soothing... Is there a separate channel that has more of your art?
Brother you always give us your honest opinion from your perspective. You always encourage to try before you buy. You got clowns 🤡 looking for views mentioning your name…
Amazing parfum. My recent discovery. Actually I have two different discoveries. Second one is Roja Isola Blu but is a bit out of my budget range :) Great video .
Justin I am watching the video and something came as question when you started playing you mentioned feeling leathery lips area .. do you experience that same feeling when you are trying new fragrance and playing the trumpet I am more referring to fact that you are enjoying the fragrance which still have ingredients that might be not cooperating with you skin giving this feeling as you said trumpet is playing with you .. question is more do you see correlation between testing new fragrance and how your trumpet performance is going since you are using air to play it and scent is around and in the air .. hope this make sense
Great question. I don’t believe I see much correlation, mainly because wearing fragrances on skin is not as active of an activity as using my lips to play the trumpet. I do not experience a high volatility of the nature of my skin from day to day as I do of my lips. If a scent doesn’t agree with my skin, then in reality it’s not agreeing with my nose!
I recently smelled both at Sephora. I like Apple Brandy more because of the sweetness. But Old Fashioned's opening was impressive. It smelled legit like the drink. If it was beastly you would smell like a straight up alcoholic.
Justin, you probably don’t get this question too often, but seeing that you play trumpet: Did you ever do dci? I would be suprised if you didn’t because your tone is insane and you actually have a good embouchure for jazz… u know how that goes.
Nice! I've got to get my nose on this - I have Single Malt and am curious if it is an improvement. BTW, if you are interested, my new (12th) novel The Orphean, about a day in the life of a men's fragrance UA-camr on his way to meet his estranged daughter, is now available on Amazon. It was inspired watching a lot of perfume videos from people like you. It is also very kafkaesque (not like the perfume blogger, but the writer). I'll also be releasing my 25 bottle Areej Le Dore family portrait on my Midnight Rider TikTok and UA-cam channel next week, if you are interested.
To me it’s def like apple brandy mixed w the non sweet parts of angel share The performance is far better then apple brandy which I see as the only reason to get this one
If you ever been in a forest or around lots of trees, have been around firewood before it is burned, or have literally smelled a tree trunk up close, that is a woody smell.
The plastic cap looks great but it's so wasteful. Plastic is hard to recycle nowadays even if you would like to. There's just no market for it. Most of these caps will end up in the Pacific. Look up Hawaii plastic beach.
I like this format. I could image to watch some interesting new perfumes and see your reaction, how you enjoying etc.
100% agree! I would love a format like this on occasion for bigger releases similar to how you did Savauge Eau Forte
Same here. It gives off that same 17 days of wearing fragrances from yesteryear vibe, but for a discovery impression. Nice one Justin.
Thank you!
