Good job on the video! 2nd time today I've heard someone say "dabreeze" when trying to pronounce the word "debris". In English we use (deb-ree)!lol It makes me wonder if this was the same type of person that would pronounce "chassis" as (chass-is) instead of (chass-ee).. Just having fun, please don't take offense. Thanks again for the video!
installed the system on a 67 GTO and went with the dual sync, { make sure you set it up 50* before TDC} Also you need the pigtail adaptor (not included in kit) it's really easy to set up with the supplied coil driver that comes in the kit, you don't need the msd box. I think it's better to go with controlled timing vs the stock non controllable dist., although we did run it with the stock dist. for a while and it worked fine.
@@automech01 , It already had an aftermarket 7" Damper installed, so set 50 degree mark @ 3 1/16 inches bdc, I think most people don't understand this step and therefore have troubles with the DualSync controlling timing, A friend of mine even went to a "profesional" ;that had installed many efi systems, "supposedly" and he completely missed the procedure.
So i have a chrysler 318 and when i set it to 50 on the balancer it dosent line up the distributor its pointed to cyl 7 if i set to tdc i can line up the rotor contact with cyl 1
Nice! You do not need Hyperspark to get it running, but Hyperspark is the best solution for getting great gas mileage since it has more advanced ways of controlling timing and working with the Sniper system.
why are you going 50 degrees before T D C all other sniper distributor videos say O degrees from T D C ??? and what are the 3 o rings for that come with it ??
Wouldn't you want your timing to go up as rpm goes up wanting to get this but doesn't make sense to me u set static timing at 15 at idle and when you rev it up you want it to be at 15 so wouldn't that be the same as locking a regular distributer at 15
I am not an expert but I think the idea here is to set your baseline before allowing the computer to control your timing. Once you have confirmed your baseline you wont use the "set static timing" setting anymore and the computer will vary your timing as expected.
To run the Dual-Sync with Sniper EFI you will need adapter harness P#558-493. Note: the distributor does not wire directly to the CDI box. Here is a link to the wiring diagram to control timing with a dual-sync dizzy and a CDI ignition. (page 35) documents.holley.com/199r11031r.pdf Thx J
This video and the manual want you to rotate the SBC crank "clockwise" past TDC. This did not work for me. I decided to move crank to the 50 degree mark already printed on balancer. Guess what? Insta-fire ! Lame
how come it says learning and seems like it's not and engine starts to run like a bag of shit ? why it can't throw a fault code like simple misfire or oxygen sensor too lean or too rich? i thought it's easy installation and use and now i hear i need to f around with my fuel map on a laptop to use dsd with sniper ? how come it't can't find where the problem is ? i heard about ecu adopting to the cam or intake simple misfiring should be easy to tune . i put old HEI and she is running good again so mst be something qith syncing em all together. i'll try next year again
I know this is an old video, but it appears you have no oil pump installed in the eng? For the guy's that don't know; if you move the rotor to the location you want the #1 tower to be, and your distributer does not seat, you will have to sync your oil pump to your distributer pump drive pin. Also you never told/showed your viewers how to confirm the static timing.
Big help, followed your directions and it worked perfect 👌. Thanks
Many thanx, for your educational video on EFI !!
This info can also be used to setting up the Terminator X system aswell...
Shouldn’t the crank be turned backwards to get to 50° btdc ca in the same direction like the video shows?
I assume they don't want responsibility for rotating backwards.....meaning make 1.7ish rotations In the running direction.
Your chart with common balancer sizes and calculations is for 45 degrees instead of 50...

Except he's saying "degrees".
Except he's saying "degrees".
So if you have both, the dual sync distrubutor and the msd 6al digital box, do you select dual sync distributor or cd box for ignition type? Thanks!
You would select dual sync distributor, then use the trigger wire from the Sniper to trigger the MSD box.
Holly crap batman 😕, I wanted this distributor with my Holley sniper but this makes me want to keep it a little more simpler.
It's not that bad. They're unnecessarily incorporating an ignition box. Not to mention he keeps saying "if this, if that."

what damper diameter did you use? @@johnb2140

Thanks for the great video
Is there a Video showing The Stealth EFI and Dual Sync?
Timothy Tahaney yes you can tell from cable routing on efi
I just ordered a Holley Sniper 2300 2 barrel efi system for my 1982 Ford F150 inline 6, 4.9 Liter motor. Do I also have to get this? Thx

THX!
Thanks. In the event I do decide to get it, is there a Hyperspark you guys make for a 1982 Ford F150 300 inline 6 4.9 liter?
ford is giving away free trucks ....... they try to make people stay home.....
why are you going 50 degrees before T D C all other sniper distributor videos say O degrees from T D C ??? and what are the 3 o rings for that come with it ??
Mine has never ran right :( my experience with the sniper and dual sync distributor was been so disappointing 😢
wait why does he say to set it at 50 degrees before then shows me a chart with measurements 45 degrees before??

How does the MSD CDI box attach to the Dual Sync Dist? Is there a cable?

565104 is for a big block not made for a small block which i need.
Blow off the manifold to keep debris from falling into the engine..... as the breather grommet is wide open.

So what are the benefits of doing this?
Timing control for more potential power and better driveability . Thx J

Good eye, This is a mock-up engine!
