The Trogly's Guitar Show You had the backplate on backwards. That’s why the holes didn’t match up. Those other holes are to match up on your spring claw tension screws. You should find it matches up once you turn it around.
very cool
@@dannydavidson1667 thanks - editing that part out now. I briefly thought about doing that, but it just didn't seem like it would line up haha
the videos are becoming unwatchable due to the camera jumping around, very annoying and nauseous,
@@dannydavidson1667 There's so much differential, don't get swamped...
''This is unnaceptable in a 1000 dollar guitar"
And that comes from a Gibson guy
The guitar tech back in my old GC days used to say Schecter was his favorite brand right out of the box. Because there was usually nothing he had to do to them.
Gibson on the other hand usually required a complete set up from start to finish.
That was 10+ years ago and I know Gibson has somewhat stepped up their game recently.
@@reginaldfitzpatrick8681 Yeah...only after some hugely negative PR.
@@MrTokyoJunkie
Took a change in CEO and management to get it done too.
Seems like they finally somewhat care again
@@kenstough1166 the Schecter ?
The same guitar made in the US would cost 3x this easy
That's exactly why I don't buy from musicians friend
Purple is a killer colour on guitars, I'm thinking of finishing my V in a purple sparkle like those ESP KH-2s
Ben Chaggares- Hell yeah mate, that would be cool as.
Ben Chaggares sounds really Hendrix-y, I approve!
don't dig the satin finish though on this one, on any guitar actually, to me it just looks cheap. Not everyone likes a metallic or simple solid finish either I guess. Rececntly saw a Jackson Soloist in that purple metallic finish, whick looks fantastic.
My LTD is in the process of getting a purple finish, trying to match Paul Gilbert's purple Fireman. I think it's gonna turn out awesome.
Yeah if ya homosexual or something! I agree with max on this one, the bright iridescent pink and green is iconic of that kinda era, as well as a timelessness and tackyness that is cool, this is just tacky and fucking gay, period.
Just so you know when dealing with EMG pickups the color of the font will tell you what kind of pick up it is. So silver is ceramic emg. Gold emg is alnico. Copper letter is coil split.
You had the backplate on backwards. That’s why the holes didn’t match up. Those other holes are to match up on your spring claw tension screws. You should find it matches up once you turn it around.
Schectars are insane ,defentlty an underrated brand, I had a c1 classic that would rival any guitar you put against it .
Schecter are usually very good instruments for the money. Getting parts is pretty sketchy though.
My buddy has one of those. The C1 Classic is a great guitar.
1k for a Indonesian made guitar doesn't sound right and it showed on the fretboard (a lot of tooling marks) and electronics.
@@DarkDare47 but 3k for an American made Gibson with way more qc issues does ?
@@randymarsh7898 I would never tell anyone to buy a Gibson, but paying anything more then 500$ for a guitar with those 1 dollar pots and a cheep tremolo is ridicules. When a 340$ Harley Benton can have stainless steel frets and a better tremolo, they need to up their game.
Compare their QC to Gibson, they are way ahead of the game on bang for your buck .Great guitars
Schecter makes some *excellent* instruments. I've had (and have) several of their basses. Their 5 string neck is really comfortable and playable.
Awesome to see a Schecter on here. Schecter is hands down my favorite brand and as much as I appreciate Gibsons and Fender, it would be great to see a little more love given to these guitars on this channel. Great video, keep up the good work.
I never see multimeter readings for Schecter. Their pickups are unique and great and wish they would get some love.
As a bass player using Schecter basses for the last 15+ years, I will say I am a big fan of theirs. For overseas instruments, and for the price I think you will have a hard time finding better quality of build and components.
The biggest thing I am always impressed on is the set up they do on all of their instruments.
They are usually right on the money, or need very minor adjustments from being shipped.
Compared to instruments costing 2-3x the price that have terrible set ups, that is saying a LOT!
Schecter guitars is a fine brand name. I first heard about them in the late 1970s or maybe early 1980s. They made replacement parts that were getting popular for folks fixing Fenders. And - then - Pete Townshend chose to replace his tried and true Les Pauls on the road with Telecaster style Schecters. Even though I'm not a real guitar player, that spoke volumes to me and my brother's fellow guitar playing buffs. It seems that after about 15 years or so, the brand name kind of quieted down by the late 1990s (to me anyways). It's nice to see that they're still around and sounding fine. Thanks.
Yes, check out Eminence Front official video! I thought I was the only one who knew this tidbit.
They've been very popular the last ten years or so.
I got a van nuys era Schecter strat. My deam guitar !
The guys from Avenged Sevenfold both play 'em & were a big deal in making them more popular.
Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits also played a custom strat style schecter in the early 80s
I've been a made-in-USA guitar snob for decades, but Schecter's bang for the buck and QC are fantastic. I found a great deal on a used Hellraiser Hybrid last year and I would not hesitate to buy another Schecter.
It’s not exactly a floyd rose Special, it’s the schecter exclusive floyd rose special hot rod. Basically it’s a special with the parts that usually end up troublesome do to it being made out of zinc upgraded to stainless steel + a push-in arm. The baseplate on all specials is steel, same as the higher end ones.
I'm so happy you finally got a schecter! My first guitar is a schecter and I fell in love with the brand
The Schecters in the $800-1000 price range are very solid. I work part-time in a guitar shop, and we've never had an issues with any of them. I've always had a secret love with the Avenger shape. This Banshee with a Hipshot, and ditch the stripes...it'll be 💯
The stripes are muscle/car themed. You don’t like muscle cars?
I'm really glad that you are doing other guitar brand on your channel. Schecter makes amazing instruments and this variation appeals to other audiences. Keep it up!
That's the most thorough guitar review i have seen. Nice job!
I really like this Unboxing + Review format. Nice
Dude, I love your videos! Super informative and I love hearing all of those models!
Great job with this review! I originally said that I wasn't a fan of the new format, and maybe it was just the first one. Much more fan now, as this review seemed much more of the old review pace. I'm converted to the new style of unboxing, review and ship in the same episode. Keep up the nice work! Love the channel!
One of my favorites that you’ve unboxed so far. I recently got a LTD MH1000NT in purple. I love the finish.
I love the LTD MH 1000!!! I like that better than my custom PRS!!! Those guitars are SO COOL!!!!
@@TroyShahanMusic it’s been a solid guitar for the the few years that I’ve owned. The only problem I’ve ever had with it was a couple of nights ago one of the locking tuners jammed up on me but I got it fixed quickly. I’ve only put locking tuners on it, nothing else to miss with really. I’ve been thinking about putting some graph tech saddles but it’s really only for aesthetics reasons since I don’t break strings.
I just got one of those schecters yesterday! Absolutely love it.
Super dug the combination unboxing + review. Seems like the natural way to do it
Seeing you play that guitar made me feel like I was having a fever dream in the best possible way 🤘
I recently purchased my first Schecter. A Schecter C-1 Exotic with Ebony top. It a beautiful guitar, and plays amazingly.
Seems like a working Schecter guitar, good review!! Keep the reviews up, Austin!!
Have this guitar and it is the most comfortable and playable guitar I own. Makes playing for hours easy. Fit and finish is amazing.
i like this formatt . The guitar itself was definitely worth a look for me. Thanks again for all that you do for us here.
Love the way you package that sweet guitar up man
I’m liking the mixed reviews! But I also like seeing the deep reviews of the old Gibsons!
Trogly is right about that sharp locking nut, I need to round mine out on my Jackson. I poke my hand all the time when I play fast.
there is something therapeutic about someone who’s passionate about something opening up packages related to that something
Dude Purple it's not girliesh, and that guitar neither
budaroddy ah it absolutely is girly but still a nice lookin guitar
Nothing wrong w it looking "girly" whatever that means
AFIC true, I love to have a very pastel pink strat cause it looks cool
reminds me of mateus asato
purple and pink and blue are best colors for guitar
budaroddy I just $ a purple ESP E2 purple sparkle ☝️ luv it.... and I ain’t no 👧 LY/ 🎸 purple is a great color.... 👍
Thank you for the pleasant distraction. Don't stop!
Hi, Austin!
I bought 2 Schecter Hellraisers a couple of years ago.
They came all the way to Brazil and they were still in tune.
It's amazing!!
Cheers!!
I'm with ya. There is something about purple guitars that are awesome.
When are we going to see the ORMSBY? Really excited for that one. Thank you.
Dude love your content you never disappoint
Great review very in depth!
Yo Austin, that B-Roll is looking great my man! Hard work pays off!
literally how i found your channel, randomly on my home screen and the guitar looks nice so i had to click it. enjoyed the video you got a new sub.
I've always been a huge huge shecter fan. Every single bass and guitar I've played of theirs has been perfectly factory set up, free of defects and looking hella slick.
Love Schecter axes... not a shredder but they play and feel great! I changed out my.pups to Bill Lawrence rails and love the sound!!! Gr8 review format Austin!!! Really like it!
Awesome looking axe. That purple and blue model absolutely stunning
I can't wait for the PRS videos from you Austin! 🤘
Your channel rocks, Austin. Keep up the good work!
I have a Schecter Banshee Extreme HSS hardtail and it's a great guitar. It too came factory set up really well. A little over half the price of this one. Definitely a brand worth checking out.
Really like that you try different guitars from what you’re used too. Really neAt of you
Beautiful satin finish, love the dark shade of purple
Hey Austin, at the 12:17 mark you said the screws were drilled crooked but I think you might’ve had the back plate on backwards. Usually those holes would be facing the other way so you can adjust spring tension without having to remove the plate entirely. Big fan and love the videos! :)
love this format
Hey man, great camera work!!
Very nice Im lookin at the Charcoal version, Great review thx Again!!
I have a Schecter S1 Elite and love that guitar! When I bought it I bought it off a friend. I played it once and thought it felt great. When it came time to buy it I thought it was a C1, like a Super Strat with a set Gibson neck. The S1 is more like a Gibson Les Paul double cutaway.
I did change the speed knobs to Tele style knobs in the smoky chrome. I moved the strap button to the back where you would find on an SG. I'm changing the pots to individual coil taps (the tone knob taps both at the same time as stock) with a Shadow killpot on the tone. The stock Duncan Designed pickups are great if you take the time to adjust the pickup height and screw height. It's a bit beefier than a SG and not as beefy as Les Paul.
Seriously the Diamond Series can be great guitars.
2 Schecters - bought new. Damn near perfect out of the box !!
Love Schecter and Dean !!
Kiesel will be my next newbie.
I have two Schecters: an E-1 FR S Special Edition (Explorer-style with a Floyd and Sustainiac in trans purple burst with a flame maple top) and a Sun Valley Super Shredder (neon green Super Strat with a Floyd and Sustainiac). I love them!
That said, I got the SVSS used, but the E-1 I bought new came with the worst factory setup I've ever had. The Floyd was about 5º out of parallel with the body (should be straight), the bridge height was stupid high, and the neck didn't have the truss rod adjusted (but it was dead nuts in tune!!!). I spent about 4 hours getting it somewhere close to playable.
really good and like the new format
Coming back to this after a couple years. I’m starting to hope trogly will start a collect with esp-ltd/Jackson/schecter/Ibanez and any other over the seas guitar makers. They always have some cool stuff that’s a bit cheaper than the American guitars. And I think it would be fun to learn some history and cool crazy guitars from them that trogly could find.
I found your channel when looking for that Gibson Flying V 7 strings
Not a purple fan but that guitar looks amazing! Thanks for the rundown and sound demo's!
Wow! This is a beautiful guitar! I 💜 purple and of course purple guitars! Thanks Trog! 👏👏 Pam 😄
I still have that Ibanez, really loving it. Such a gorgeous top, and it sounds great through my rig!
I literally only watch your videos for your cheerful personality and to oogle at expensive guitars i could never afford
Just picked up a Reaper 6 fr-s like 2 days ago. I'd never purchased a guitar that retailed for over $1k before this, and now I understand why it costs that much. It is BY FAR the most comfortable guitar I have ever played, the tone from the stock pup is great, the setup is perfect, and the things you can do with a sustainiac and a floyd rose are freaking amazing. I never really considered a Schecter guitar before this, but I am now definitely a fan and future customer.
Purple is great on that axe!
I like your reviews that are on other guitars than Gibsons and fenders. I think it would be cool if you would do a review on a Kramer some day.
OMG! Do miracles ever cease! Mr. Gibson is finally reviewing one of my favorite guitar brands; Schecter!!! My first thumbs up to you!
Schecter make some really nice guitars and basses, for the price. I would defiantly buy another.
You upload videos so quickly I can barely keep up with you lol! Question: have you ever made an unboxing video of a left-handed guitar? As a lefty myself I want some representation for the community lol
Austin! You gotta check out the Kiesel guitars! Very high quality, high value, very customizable American made guitars. Jeff Kiesel is a cool dude, I’d bet he’d send you a demo.
I agree. I have 2 older Carvin models, a 1984 V220T and a 1996 DC127, and I just got a Kiesel Type X. Great guitars. Trogly should compare a Kiesel Cali to a Les Paul.
Why do you customize a custom guitar????????????
YEA CARVIN/KIESEL REVIEW!!!
Why would he do that? He's a Gibson fanboy.
I can't really imagine Jeff playing ball with Gibson's unofficial brand ambassador over here.
Purple is my favorite color, and that shade and finish is awesome.
I have a schecter c-6 pro and I had similar problems with the output Jack, from when I first got it it was partially loose then came disconnected completely . Works perfectly now it's been put back in properly
I don't mind the different format, I dig it. I dug that Schecter as well.
Schecter is pretty insane. I have an E1 “Snow Leopard” and it has carbon fiber binding. It’s so trippy.
the Schecter omen extreme 6 is a great beginner's guitar for the $400 price range. The used ones can be had from $250 at some places to $300 and reverb has some reverse burst omens
I love all your videos. Such a great guy. And an ohio guy. And I'm just in toledo. So I'm not far away either. Keep up the good work. And look to do business with you on getting another guitar.
Awesome review. I'd love to see a review of the Zacky Vengeance 6661 Standard signiture guitar :D
5:08 Now that looks cool.
That’s a pretty sweet looking guitar man. I’m impressed.
I like this format but I also enjoy the traditional unboxing and boxing shows. 👍
Nice guitar playing trogly!
Nice !
Flame grain looks good... Even in matte finish. Great Guitar 👍
Love the show and love the purple Schecter guitar. My son wanted a guitar for his birthday so we got him one. He then asked me to take lessons with him. I have never played before but always wanted to, so I thought why not, some great father and son bonding time. I have a very cheap guitar but had a lot of fun on our lessons. I am now wanting a nicer one, but nothing to break the bank, I love Gibsons, but that is way out of what I wanted to spend. What would you suggest? Keep up the awesome work. I love your channel.
Schecter hot rod models for the Floyd's have the push in trem instead of the screw on style.
The adjustment screws are also chrome titanium rather then black oxidized steel.
So this is weird. Schecter is my favorite guitar brand. Ive been watching your video`s for a while now. Yesterday i thought. Yeah this guy just earns my Sub, lets go.
And boom! Today you come out with a Schecter.
Keep on doing what we all love. I hope to support your channel in the near future.
I found your channel via a comment someone made on another guitar related channel. I was looking at a demo of the 2020 inspired by Gibson Epiphones and someone mentioned you hoping they did not have as bad luck as you :).
oh
I have a Schecter bass that I have played for almost 20 years and I love it.
Man, this guitar is beautiful, insanely beautiful im in love with it
My first electric was a schecter omen 6 fr extreme and I loved it spent 12 hour days playing on that guitar.
The differance between the regular floyd rose special and the one Schecter uses is the crome parts. The chrome parts are made of stronger materials so they do not strip out during adjustments. The original non chrome parts were made of a very soft metal and they were prone to stripping (even on the first use).
They are not chrome. They are stainless steel.
I was not looking for guitar videos when I found your channel lol although i do play guitar I was scrolling through home page I believe and your "I found my stolen flying v" video popped up and I had to subscribe to see if you get your guitars back 😂 great content tho to say the least and I'm learning alot watching these videos thank you for making me fall in love with guitar all over again
Seems weird to have an episode where you don't need to mention tooling marks all over the fretboard. I'd like to see more Schecters in the future. Great video!
I have Schecter C5 GT 5 string bass version with this exact design. It looks outstanding!
The purple Schecter reminds of The Prowler. Looks awesome!
Schecter makes some pretty good stuff, I have a Damien Platinum that plays like a dream.
They tend to put some really interesting fret inlays on their creations.
Havent bought a guitar in a few years, FINALLY STOPPED AFTER 30 YEARS, but if I di I will find your reviews. I wish I had this quality of review way back when. As for this guitar it reminds me of a Nuno N24 that I used to have. Its the headstock I think. But I like the guitar and even the color.
The "charcoal burst" is probably my favorite finish
I really want the purple music man majesty. You should get one of them on this channel
This guitar looks just like a 1970's Australian made 351 GTHO shaker. Love this colour.
Been playing guitar for 30+ years. Always liked framus, fender and prs.... had the chance to play a schecter about a year ago.... now I own 3 of them and just ordered a silver mountain 8 string schecter. One of the best guitars nowadays. Sounds and plays way better than almost all my other guitars (Gibson, Dean, bc rich, even fender ). My framus and prs are better sounding. But wow. What an amazing guitars are schecter. Great video buddy.
7:08 FYI: the 'chrome accents' are stainless screw that are more durable and less susceptible to corrosion from handling.
