You gotta spend more time playing half speed, or even slower, than playing fast. Sound ridiculously clean at a slow speed first. And gradually bring that level of clean faster, but don't jump ahead to a speed where you're "okay" but not ridiculously clean. That's what Jason basically said.

deasnutz4ever he said he started saving up for his first JP when he was 12 and said that once he started getting good in highschool that’s when he said this is what I want to do,he joined all shall perish when he was 17 so he obviously practiced a lot to get that good,I mean I’ve only been playing a year and I can play this fast and this type of music not as good a Jason obviously but if I started working my ass of like him by the end of this summer I’d be playing this about as clean as him,it doesn’t take years and years and years to get this good it takes the amount of time it takes you from when you finally start trying and playing everyday as much as possible to when your at this point

Sure BoO went downhill after Jason left, but it wasn't just because he wasn't with them anymore. Remember that A New Reign kicked ass without him. Their style just changed after The Discovery, and not just in a lack of shred

I could give you an advice - look up some scales, find out every single note on a fret board in that scale, learn it, and then just add them all up randomly. This will help you to realize what combinations do work, and which don't, and after a while, you will be able to put all these well sounding phrases together into a solo, yep-yep.
