- Jason playing XIV/Behold the 2nd time on 1/23/2015. He did 2 performances the first day of the NAMM show, this is from the afternoon show. Also known as the 'with a hat on' set.

Jason is the reason im getting back into guitar! Loved him since All Shall Perish and played guitar for a few years around the time area. Seen you play live with ASP at the bling dog in windsor ontario 11 years ago. Gave it up for way too many years due to life circumstances but im back on the boat! Bought a Boss Katana MKII and an ESP LTD M-1000HT. Guitar is slated to come in at the end of the month, cant fucking wait!

Jason is amazing. I had no idea he'd become this great. He's really taken everything about shred guitar and exaggerated it, In the realm of pure shred, this guy already surpass Loomis, Petrucci in terms of technical prowess and accuracy.
Guthrie Govan and Rick Graham are the only ones who i'm sure could transcribe and play Jason's stuff accurately and easily

I've never seen before Jason playing "XIV" and "Behold" by Born Of Osiris. BoO, throw out Jason after the making of "The Discovery". According to me, it was a really stupid idea throwing out a guitarist like this. He played live two masterpieces like these, and Lee McKinney? No. He continues to play "Divergency" or "Follow the Signs" with bad results.
He left because he didn't like their party life style.

Just to clarify to everyone I did NOT quit Born of Osiris, I would have never been able to bring myself to do such a thing no matter how much tension was between us. All of those dudes were essentially my family, I lived in the same house as them for over 2 years. This was by no means at all my decision(not that I was involved in the decision in any way shape or form lol). I have been fired from the band because I, ‘don’t agree with the way they want to live their lives’

Not discrediting Jason of course just tryna make a shoutout to fuckin Cameron for writing the most ridiculous drum parts ever. Holy fucking shit it's hard. There's a reason why there isn't a super clean and note for note drum cover of it on UA-cam...

i thought when he left BOO he wouldn't play another one of their songs again...Guess jason's growing up and maybe talks to them again
but what you don't seem to understand is those 2 tunes are ALL his, he wrote and played every note on the recording of XIV/Behold, the drums were programmed by him. Only the vocals, (happily missing from the backing track), were put in by Ronnie. That's why you'll never hear this live from BOO, they aren't capable of playing it. Thought you'd like to know the back story on that.
yea i understand that, i know he wrote the two songs, however he said that when he left a few years ago that he would never play a BOO song again (which kinda told me even his songs he did he wouldn't)
And you would know he didn't because...? I was a witness to his creation of those 2 tunes over at least a year or so and first hand knowledge of how the Discovery was recorded. So believe what you will, you'll never here this from anyone in BOO, they don't know how to play it, however, Ronnie can 'vocalize' it as he wrote the lyrics & did that part. Note, this is an instrumental recording he's playing with....

And those are the only ones he sighted and I'm 100% sure there's more. They're also 2 of the best songs off the record.

I mean, yeah of course he is an awesome guitarist and can shred, but its not only about that. He maybe is a better guitarst then Lee but i dont think Lee deserves all the shit he gets. He is an amazing guitarist and has written really cool parts on all their album. Just give a listen to exist or Illusionist. From what I read it seems like if Lee couldnt write shit and Jason was the whole Born of osiris. Come on guys, The new reign, A higher place and even the two newest albums has many cool stuff to offer.
