  • That's the first episode about how to build and convert the Revosys VK36.01 Tiger tank prototype into the one chassis that was finished, the VK Sport. This video is relevant for the Rye Field Models VK36.01 as well, since it is a rebox with less parts.
    Literature:
    DW to Tiger 1; Jentz & Doyle: All the basic Information about the VK36.01 and its Development. But not enough photographs for a full conversion.
    Panzer Tracts 6: Does include a short description and drawings by Doyle as well as photographs of the rear and a motor swap.
    Both books together give the full picture.
    Conversion Kit: All parts are designed and 3D printed by myself. Depending on your interest and support, for witch I'm very thankful, the conversion files will be on Thingiverse free to download once the project is finished: www.thingivers... Printer and Settings I used: Anycubic Photon S Z-Layer hight 0.02mm Exposure benchmarked to the resin I have at hand.

    This video is a bit shorter than you might be used to. Doing some Investments into better video quality in the background so some time had to be diverted away from this episode. They will get longer again as soon as my schedule is fixed back to weekly releases and the new gear is integrated into my workflow. Thank you very much for your continuous support even so there was no video last week.

    I've been modeling for about 48 years. I've done commission work. I model 1/35 German armor specializing in North Africa. I just want to say that your videos are awesome! You have taught me new techniques both in building and painting. Your never too old to learn from a great modeler. I'm kinda new here and I am catching up on your videos. Thank you sir!!!

      Thank you very much Scott, it's a hounor to give something back to much more experienced scale modelers like you are for sure. I'm just starting out learning the more advanced stuff and prgress is visible very fast with the help of all the great modelers here on YT giving good advice in thier videos... If I can be of help with showing this or that in better detail, happily at your service!

    This will be a very cool series of videos to follow! Your work on the interior we saw today was quite impressive -- the driver's position has a lot of detail.

      Thank you Evan! Tomorrow I'll get the lens I would have needed to film painting the instruments, so I kept it quite short. And since you have done a very helpful tutorial the other days, there was litte point in diving deep : ) Still keeping the fingers crossed for the track print that is running this very moment - if we can get workable tiger tracks out of a photon - I'll build all the tigers out there xD

    Having come upon your channel at a later date, it is cool watching your older videos and seeing the progression of your skills and now I am seeing the introduction of the 3D printed parts!
    Great job as always!

    Ein sehr schönes Video zu dem Prototype-Umbau. Wunderbar detaillierte Teile die auch noch richtig genau passen! Was will man mehr.

    I just bought this kit, I don't have a 3D printer so I won't be adding the pieces you have, it will be an out of the box build with brass machine gun barrel.
    One thing I will say is that at a glance the instructions supplied seem a little spare on information.
    It doesn't look obvious what parts to use or leave out when you get to the turret.
    You have a choice between mantles (if that's the correct way to say it) and barrels.
    Also there are no written instructions at all, only in pictorials.
    For someone like me who has little experience in modelling it looks a bit daunting.
    I think I'll have to practice on some other kits first before I attempt this one.
    Great vid thank you 👍

      Well main problem with the turret ist, they were never completed - you are relativ free to choose the parts you like the most, chould have had the konical 7.5cm gun - they were produced in a small number i renember right ; )

      Thanks Greg. RFM did a good job sorting some of the fantasy options out from what I've seen so far. Let's see if I can fix the tracks, if it works out, I'll send some resin parts your way.

      I'll patch you up tomorrow during the day, I contact you via email. I'd love to see a very very early T34 one day, just like the one the Germans had when they were designing the Panther. RFM I only have the DAK Tiger, that one will be converted into the very first tiger with the vorpanzer.

    I bought the RFM one a couple of weeks ago so cool amd got the VK30.02DB this kit turned out so fricking nice so it did! The t34 panther thing! This was a great build from amusing hobbies too this Pz.Kpfw.38D mit Pz.IV Tum 8cm PAW 600!I'm just away up toy friends model shop to get the panzer 4 with the front slopped armour from AH now and waiting for RFMs panzer 4 with the panther turret to come my way next! How are you getting on with your tracks etc mate? I've noticed TREX have started doing them for takom now so that should be cool and waiting to get a set of the winterketten from RFM I managed to get them in the white metal but I'm no daft on metal tracks much eh, there's not really great Sharpe detail you get with some of the plastic one's so can't wait to try a set of 3D printed one's!

    i’d love to see more of them german prototype tanks. The ones in use were covered million times on YT and the are getting boring/cliche. Anyway thats just my opinion. Nice work man !

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Bartosz! I like to start every vehicle class with at its beginning, creating a comprehensive collection over time. 1/35 are lengthy projects so with a grain of salt for not being able to tell the future: We can't build only grey tanks here, so I'll do two things: close gaps left over by random builds in the past: I miss a early Grille to close this vehicle down for example. 2nd: alternate between late and early vehicle classes to get around into the other vehicles - Hetzers are on the menu again for some factory camo, as well as Jagdpanzer IV starting with the 0-series. While keeping tiger development as a constant topic throughout the future content. I hope this strategy satisfies most viewers

    So how will you make a 1/35 model of Albert Speer as the driver?!? ;p
    I love this tank. I have this Revosys kit sitting in the shelf. It's a shame there's no engine part...
    When I have the time, I will make an Alt-History version of the VK 36.01, in which the Waffenamt cancelled the Durchbruch tank concept after the Battle of France, and went ahead with the Artilleriewagen concept of a Haubitze-turreted, infantry support panzer. It will look very similar to the VK 36.01 (H) Sturm from World of Tanks.
    Here's a detailed article: www.tankarchives.ca/2018/06/vk-3601h-half-step-from-tiger.html
    Next, let's see what you did with the tracks!

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  4 роки тому +2

      Oha.. No Speer around here... But I do have Prof. Dr. Porsche as resin figure having a rather unimpressed look on his face xD I did read about the AW it would have been a totaly different vehicle to what wot included in thier game. Nice project nevertheless but it needs more original drawings to show up. DW1&2 is something I lick my fingers for : ) I'll read that article for sure. Yeah, the tracks, still babysitting the printer atm xD

      @@Tankbrusher no worries, looking forward to it.
      What do you think of the kit overall?
      I was looking for an interior kit then came across this one on ebay, I had it for a good price and my first impression is it looks a well detailed kit (although not totally accurate)

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  3 роки тому

      @@allanatwick1606 I think the kit is as good as it gets. They took a not so important vehicle and went over the top with this kit. Detailing, fit, overall balance of features is on point. It's one of my favorit kits and 70% of my stash is dragon and takom atm. How accurate it is, is not important since it is a ,,what if it would have been completet" kit, but when backdateing it to what actually was there as a project, as I do, it still is very complete and very close to what we can see on the photos. I guess it's the last kit we see by revosys and that's a real pitty imho.
