That 'Revealed' mechanic is as old as the Vampire: The Masquerade games. If you use vampiric powers you break the Masquerade and hence you get 'Revealed' to be hunted by other vampires
The mechanics in the game actually do make a lot of sense idk what he's on about
He's just mad he isn't allowed to abuse every other mechanic to keep going on a rampage, the fact that ttvs and normal players both have an even playing ground is pretty good indicators of a good game

I do like that it makes you remember the game you’re playing but when you’re in the middle of combat and I mean like heavy combat and you need some blood it can be frustrating, BUT that’s all part of the game and I just go along with it just want the cooldown reduced.

In VTM there is a thing called the masquerade which is basically the code/morals that keeps vampires unknown to humans. Diablerizing another vampire in front of a human would be a pretty clear break of the masquerade and would basically cause the rest of vampire society, or at least those that keep the masquerade, to hunt you down and destroy you. That is there attempt to implement the mechanic, vampire law and human law are not the same thing, so a human witnessing someone shot by an explosive bolt vs a human witnessing vampires doing supernatural things are not the same, this isnt about the humans reaction but rather vampires reacting to the humans reaction.
Yeah, but using any vampire abilities in front of any human is breaking the masquerade. So if the game was really strict about the lore, you coudn't even jump in front oh a human, it's breaking the masquerade.
@@Kalasasta not really. Human doesn't know it's a vampire until blood sucking specifically. So no masquerade broken. Could be any monster or super human that jumps/vanishes. What you think?

@@BillyGoatXD I've been playing VTM for years and yes, unless a vampire kills a human by drinking their blood to death, it's usually not an issue. That is unless the Vampire prince/leader of the city declared that killing humans are not allowed, in which case a blood hunt could definitely be called.
Like I said on another comment: "Still shouldn't reveal for lore reasons. There's no part in the lore that you get visible through walls if you break the masquerade. It should ping the location where the masquerade was broken, put a bounty on your sorry ass and give extra points for killing the civillian that saw that. Which would be an inifinitely better mechanic that could allow a more 'ambusher' playstyle."
Enabling wall hacks against you because you broke the masquerade is stupid as fuck.
I personally think that the reveal makes sense.. After all the problem isn't the shooting in this world, but rather the vampires and you are revealing yourself as a vampire.

But does it need to last for a whole minute?.. its just excessive. Giving everyone on the map wall hacks for that long. Might as well roll over and die. If it lasted 10-15 seconds. No complaints🤷♂️
@@dapperdanish1214 A minute really isn't that long first of all. And secondly, it's supposed to be punishing, not just a slight hindrance. The whole point of this universe is that people aren't supposed to know that vampires exist,.
It is one of the reasons why I never expected them to make a BR in this verse

he was whining the first few hours but once he got better he realized its not as bad as he thought

@@harry-cj6wu some of them, sure lol. Not all of them. Like him complaining about reveals lasting 60 seconds. It’s so easy to avoid hitting them. He just has to get better in that area
If you remove the bloodhunt feature it completely removes this game from vampire the masquerade. It might as well be any other battle royale. How about instead of ooga booga eat that guy, use your brain for half a sec and think of consequences. You have another option of shoot him, use it.
A few problems this game does have that he can actively complain about and be objectively right about include; visual glitches, and sound design/absence of it glitches.
@@tippyjdoggames7787 who cares? there is plenty that separates this game and most people aren't playing it because if the series it is in. a bad mechanic is a bad mechanic justified by lore or not.
@@keagonostler4931 I disagree with you on multiple fronts. One, it’s not a bad mechanic, it’s a risky one. You have the option of shooting to finish. It is faster, more efficient and includes no risk at all. But if you diablerize you not only heal up to full but you also increase the amount of passive skills you can have and you gain all the passive skills the person you diablerize had.
That’s my first point. My second is that if they remove the game from the lore they are objectively losing money from the rights they paid for the name. Not only that, but even if they do that I suspect that they have a strong passion for the lore behind the game(seeing that the name of the part of lore is on the cover of the game). So if you remove an extremely integral part of game in the form of diablerie. The devs probably are going to be a little bit discouraged and less confident in making and improving the game further which is going to cost them further money in the future and generally be a major problem in a extremely vital part of development. Which is going to have a lasting affect on the games progress as a whole.
@@tippyjdoggames7787 changing a game to fit the games audience is important you can say its not a bad mechanic but having wall hacks on you for a full minute even when you unintentionally hit humans on the street isn't fun in mine and most others opinions if diablerizing was the only way to get revealed I would agree but its not and mid combat it is way to easy to accidentally hit a human with an ability and then get revealed. Not only that but I think you seriously overestimate the amount of people that are gonna care about the name if this game blows up the name will not be the reason why nor the reason it will stay popular.
@@keagonostler4931 all about risk/reward. I'm absolutely fine with it as it is TBH. Maybe lowering the reveal timer is a fair argument though, but meh... just check your surroundings first and there's no problem. Pressing X (PC) even lights up people around you so you gotta be pretty blind not to see a nearby human.

Its only a poor mechanic to him then because he caught the rough end of it. Had he been downed and the guy ignored the game mechanics Shroud would likely be like "oh wow ok that was cool i guess"

@Coldest of nights 56 I totally understand if that’s a major component of the game but it’s not essential to enjoying actually partaking in the gameplay. Take the dark souls series for example it has incredible lore but you can go through the entire series with out even thinking about it once. I just don’t think someone should be faulted for not giving a rats ass about lore in a video game.

If you point a gung at the nearby civilians, they'll run away and you can use your vampire powers. That's the skill of knowing your surroundings if you do or don't want to be hunted. It's a vampire BR based on a story game.
The public diablarie punishment is a game mechanic and true to the table top game. The point of a bloodhunt is to punish vampires who break the traditions, one is not showing the world you're a vampire. It makes sense to punish people for using vampire powers in the open, where regular murder, something humans do all the time. Its not even a bad mechanic, you can just choose to not diablerize, and instead shoot them. Criticizing it shows you're just bad at game play lol.

maybe include a feeding system where if you eat too many people in a round (other vampires and npcs) you go into like a blood lust where you cant use weapons only melee but your a bit stronger faster maby there is a transformation where your more animal like and your more visible

That would be awesome, the different clans should also have different trasnformations. Like nosferatu become raid boss beasts but they are constantly revealed for being horrific. While toreador would be hidden in a layer of beauty so they wont be revealed, but thier transformation is not as powerful. Would be awesome to see!

When you make a diablerie (drink the blood of other vampire) is the worst crime in the vampire society. It is a way to be more powerful, so every other vampire will sense it. It is part of the Vampire The Masqarade story. Makes total sense to reveal you in the game.

I actually hadn't heard about this game, it looks really cool with the freedom of movement and various abilities. It's honestly a gorgeous take on the battle royal genre set in a gritty city scape and is fun to watch. What's not fun is listening to you rage and complain about it.
