i was born and raised here, there is so much to do in atlanta and always something exciting to do. if you have a car take everything important out of your car and leave your doors unlocked. better to have unimportant things stolen then a shattered window lol
It’s so crazy because I was justaboit to schedule my campus visit right before this virus stuff happened. Now I can’t go, so thank you for this video!!!
Oh my God! I am so happy. I am trying to make my application to the graduate school to see if I get accepted for Fall 2023. Which program where you accepted into?
girlllll i dead need a upperclass mentor kind of person, u seem great lol. Im out of state and u seem perfect and you seem familiar with the school aswell
Do you recommend GSU? I was looking at transferring either here or Georgia Southern. I just think I'd be scared being that gsu is such an open campus.. but I also feel like it's more to do in the Atlanta area than the statesboro area.
I transferred from Georgia southern. I didn’t like how empty the city was and my friend got shot at an off campus apartment. I feel like Georgia state is safer in my opinion. The open campus isn’t that bad, they have Georgia state police on campus 24/7. But as far as activities, state would be the way to go! It’s just a little harder making friends.
My roommates at the moment helped me a lot. All of my classes were pretty much around the same area. Usually you can put the building names in your gps.
Its alright imo. during the day its fine for the most part. at night it can get unsafe with robberies and stuff. but the dorms are super secure cause you can't even enter the lobby without a key
Go to GSU perimeter for the first two years if your parents live near one of the campuses. It’s a lot cheaper. The class rooms are smaller, and you will boost your GPA before you go downtown. The perimeter campus offers a lot for nursing students. A lot of the students downtown waste their money the first two years taking classes that aren’t for their major. If you have zell Miller then just go straight downtown, but otherwise I’d recommend perimeter. The only downside is won’t get a social life from perimeter like you do downtown. You will meet new people, but not as many as you would at downtown.
Vanessa Kay i honestly feel like you don’t get that real college like experience at ga state unless you live on campus💯 (i would suggest at least your first 2 years). Since all the dorms are so close knit together with dining halls and the places that you’ll most likely be taking class are(for the most part)around each other, i feel like you get more of that campus feel. Especially at the student center considering EVERYBODY is always out there(yard shows, organization fairs, job fairs etc.) I would suggest staying on campus only so you can set that foundation for meeting people in your dorm, that makes it a lot easier to get more in tune with what’s going on around campus. There are even parties that go on that you can literally walk to. I know some people that commute, but personally I think it kills the experience. and plus you’re downtown so when you get bored with the typical college experience it’s always something going on in Atlanta (concerts, get air, museums, lounges) it’s the best of both worlds
Kayla Rhodes I’m unfortunately transferring from a HBCU but Atlanta is my real home anyways, I’ll be a junior but you’re not the first I heard that said to stay on campus so I’ll do that then cause I was nervous about coming to GSU cause it’s just so open I didn’t know if I’d get a real college experience. But thanks for all the info! What housing would you recommend for an upcoming junior?
Vanessa Kay Girl i’m an upcoming jr too! and I would suggest staying somewhere like One 12 or the mix( but the mix is more on the pricey side) and I say these two only because it gives you more privacy (no RAs, room checks or real rules because they’re apartments and they’re both close to the student center and other dorms) My old dorm (The commons) that’s a good place too, but the only issue is that you’ll get room checks and if you have guest you have to go through this annoying check in procedure each time and you get a limit of 6 per month (but you can finesse by using someone else’s id like me and my roommates did😂)and it’s a possibility of getting roomed with an underclassmen And lastly Aspen is a good apartment too but the only issue with that is it’s an off campus apartment you just have to take the blue route whenever you’re trying to get to the student center for your classes.
Vanessa Kay Girl it’s no problem when i transferred, i was confused with it all too. and it’s not necessarily far it takes about 6-10 minutes but the only issue is that it’s only 1 blue route so it’s always packed because everybody is trying to get on that bus! and sometimes with traffic, the buses tend to slow down and take a long time to get back over to aspen so it puts you at risk of not making it to class on time some days and that’s just annoying.
By chance do you know if GSU offers a Major in Dentistry?? I did some research but I didn't see any dentistry related major(s)🤷♂️maybe I didn't check properly.
so usually when you have a meal plan they’ll set it up for you when you visit for the first time. That’s how it was when I transferred. You can also go to the recreational center and they’ll set it up for you. That’s the Atlanta campus tho, I don’t know about others.
@@k.ayl.a. okay I meant to say I go to GSU Atlanta but since my classes are online I don’t go down there but I would like to use the gym I’ll go down there to set it up one day.. Thank you ❤️❤️
Get your GED. Apply to GSU perimeter! Do two years there then transfer to downtown. That might be your only possibility since you don’t have a high school degree
