Gochujang Ribs and Miso Brisket Are a New Addition to Traditional American Barbecue - K-Town
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 вер 2024
- This episode of K-Town stops by a barbecue restaurant serving a fusion cuisine that makes so. much. sense. At Heirloom BBQ in Atlanta, expect to find ham, ribs, and brisket infused with Korean flavors. The classically southern cuts of meat are topped with sauces like gochujang and served alongside banchan and other Korean pickles. It all amounts to what host Matthew Kang calls “the most Korean-American feast I can ever imagine.”

I really like this host... I don't feel he should be limited to K-town related content... he has an excellent palette, is articulate and has great knowledge and insight
i think he actually has a wide vocab. which helps in describing the flav
Neil Singh I think everyone would agree with me when I say I'd rather have him host the meat show rather than that pretentious douche who never stops saying "primal"
And he doesn't rudely interupt the chefs/cooks while asking them questions cough cough Nick Solares cough cough......
I love both :P Nick is a true Brit; not like one of those posh twats you see everywhere else.
In the US everyone is too nice, it seems forced to a lot of us. Different places different people I guess.
Actually, I never noticed Nick's use of vocab until I read the comment section. I mean i came to watch the food, not really come for an English lesson.
OH MY, IS THAT LEE JIYEON (the wife) ?? THE LEE JIYEON...(진짜 이지연인가요??)She was a massive hit singer in korea in the 80's and i had no idea what happened to her and she's here!! SHE'S SO AMAZING, if you want ,You gotta listen to "I dont know what love is" (난 사랑을 아직 몰라) I'm so pleasantly shocked, what a coincidence she is here im so proud and happy. 와 진짜 깜짝 놀랐어 이지연 대단한 가수였다..이제 미국에서 행복해 보인다!!
i did some research she is "THE Lee Yiyeon" www.heirloommarketbbq.com/Chef_Jiyeon.html
Joshua Yan Oh why thank you so much!! she is one of my idols and has not changed one bit!!
that's why she's so hot O.O
Your comment caught my attention but your profile pic/icon of Key made me tear up from laughing LMAO
I moved to Korea during the 80s when I was a kid, and she was one of the most popular singers in Korea at that time. This is the first song of hers that I listened to: ua-cam.com/video/Ikad16ci-SA/v-deo.html
"You're not just throwing things together. Hey, let's make a fusion. This is our life, this is our life experience." I love the way she put that and their food looks incredible.
I love how the wife is eating with him. She sees him eating and the food laid out in front of them, and she's like "I need to get my own fix." It's just that good.
He really is a great host, I really enjoy his episodes. He's well spoken without being snooty, and he doesn't overuse certain adjectives
By far most interesting fusion cuisine to look for 😊
meaturama dude, chill.
I will rob that place for the meat not the cash. 🤤
never seen Matthew so happy before
Trust me, I was jubilant. SO GOOD.
I like the part where you take a bite while Cody is explaining the process to you and you're already somewhere else.
Wow...I remember telling my friend last week how a fusion of Korean and American BBQ would be the best thing ever, but I forgot to Google it to see if it's a real thing lol. Thanks for covering this, Eater!
My favorite BBQ place in Atlanta hands down. A lot of love goes into it. Great video and glad you are hitting the good Korean spots in ATL.
So this is what Matty Ice is doing in the offseason. So talented
I really like it when the chefs try the food with the host!!
Tony Chen that's how you know it's good!!
Heard and read about this place. But after watching this, I really gotta visit this place.
Apparently the boss lady is the video is around 45-48 years old....wtf...she looks like she's in her early 30s
Emma C I know right? She looks amazing.
Plastic surgery. She also has her eyelids folded.
Apparently she was a pop superstar in korea renowned for her beauty, so I doubt it
Taialth No, look at her eyelids. They're not natural. Also, most all Korean pop stars are renowned for their beauty, so its not much of a distinction.
Taialth Although, at the height of her culinary career, before the surgery, she WAS in fact very beautiful.
This makes me want to open my own Korean American BBQ place in my town! Amazing fusion concept!
I love love love this host. He does such a great job at thoroughly describing the tastes, textures, and smells to make it so palpable to the viewers without sounding condescending or patronizing as many chefs can tend to sound.
Matthew Kang could write a book on Korean cuisine in the south (with a ton of pictures) id buy t
That's a great idea. But I'd have to move to the South to do that. (no complaints there!)
Good lort this needs to happen.
that looks insanely delicious! i want to try it all. ASAP!
The food is honestly glorious.

Good god I need this in my life
Making me so hungry at 6 in the morning 🤤
I've been here. It's so good especially that mac n cheese and their sweet potato chips! omg
Videos like this are why I could never be a vegetarian. That brisket and ham sammich looked sooo damn good. Great ep with two very good cooks.
You just got owned, buddy!
Nice couple. Food looks delicious, too.
keep this up guys!
OMG I would love to eat that food. This host is my second favorite now. Sorry, Lucas is the best on Eater.
You know, I don't know why there are more places like this. I'm not skilled enough with the smoker to try it myself, but I go to Chinese BBQ places and they have delicious sausage, duck, rib racks, char sui, and roast pork -- but I always think "I wonder if this could be made even better if they also smoked it". Maybe I'll have to try it later this summer....
와아!! 지연 누나!! 여전히 아름다우시네요 !!
You had me at 0:07
man i wanna try that so hard
Dude this really kind of my food..
thank you for not making this an episode of the meat show!
Is this the guy who only made burgers on a BBQ show when it’s a pit master competition?

Matthew is so nice! Maybe you could fire pretentious Nick Solares and let this dude do more segments?
I think I just figured it out. Korea is The Bridge. I just had about a thousand thoughts to support my Bridge Theory, but I lost them all, and I could care less about that. Ummm, hmmm, ummm.
See. Quality video.
