I play music every Friday night in Hanapepe, this song is part of my repertoire, and people always trip out on how beautiful and heartfelt it is. Most people, even locals, are not at all familiar with it, and I encourage them to explore everything Olomana has done over the years!
Sorry for your loss. I lived in Hawaii in the 70s, and my father was killed there- hit by a car. Also unexpected. Oahu has so many cars! But I still love the islands, and living on a sailboat part of the time, we got to sail to almost all of them! Hawaii is beautiful, and will always be a part of my soul. Take care, and Aloha!

Brothers' got a problem As deep as a wishing well No one else can help him but himself Takes the problems of the world Lays them on his shoulders And turns around and calls them all his own If you turn back the hands of time And try to find the answers You will see that he's been doing this forever All the scars on his broken heart Will never be the same I guess that's just the way his life will go... (aiya.................'uwe.......)

poetry, I hate hawaiian music because, like the trend of the west and reggae music, there's no meaningful lyrics just a feeling, an attitude with no substance. that's why I'm old school, Jerry Santos is a true musician.
I don't know how you can think the lyrics of their music have no meaning or substance. The Hawaiians sing straight from the heart, and express their deep feelings through their music like no others can. Aloha!

Brothers' got a problem
As deep as a wishing well
No one else can help him but himself
Takes the problems of the world
Lays them on his shoulders
And turns around and calls them all his own
If you turn back the hands of time
And try to find the answers
You will see that he's been doing this forever
All the scars on his broken heart
Will never be the same
I guess that's just the way his life will go...

Any body got the lyrics?
Brother's got a problem
as deep as a wishing well
no one else can help him but himself
Takes the problems of the world
lays them on his shoulders
turns around and calls them all his own
If you turn back the hands of time
to try to find the answers
you will see that he's been doing this forever
All the scars on his broken heart
will never be the same
I guess that's just the way his life will go
Couldn't get his life together
understanding change
couldn't live amongst the silly games
So he hopped onto a boat
and he sailed so far away
Now brother's never here to share his pain
Brother's got a problem
as deep as a wishing well
no one else can help him but himself
No one else can help him but himself
:D
Brother should of got to know Jesus Christ, if you don't know that, then you will always have problem's. You need to have faith in god.

Don't confuse Hawaiian with Jahwaiian.
