The commentators said that car was 2nd in class at the beginning of the video. The poor thing had to retire from being thrown all over the place like that...so yeah I bet his co-drivers were furious afterwords. Then again, he's probably the one who pays the bills, so they probably can't say too much to him.
I had to avoid hitting him multiple times lol. It was crazy! One coming around parabolica was sketchy. The Bentley and I had to slam on the brakes to avoid him swerving back on track. Quite the race though haha. At 19:24 and 52:30 points on my full stint video (on my channel) you can see a couple of them from my POV.
Interesting fact: I spoke to John Watson at the Blancpain Sprint Series race at Brands Hatch, and joked about this video, and he mentioned that a) he hadn't seen it and b) that Kogay was a bit annoyed about the whole thing and the criticism he'd recieved. What the hell did he expect?!
Well, what can I say about this? xD I only put together different parts of the race. Race uploaded here on UA-cam by the way. As I said before, if the driver were Patrick Dempsey, the video would be about Patrick Dempsey masterpiece. But it's Kogay, and I asked if there were some reasons for all these mistakes and I didn't get any answer. I can understand if he is annoyed, I would be too. But it's part of the game, I believe.
at the end of the day , he is the rich who owns the ferrari and enjoy the race , and all other haters just commenting on youtube , sorry but that is the fact
It has NOTHING to do with him being rich and enjoying a race, it has EVERYTHING to do with race safety and his complete lack of it. The track marshals should have black flagged him after it became painfully obvious he had no idea what he was doing. Those cars cost well over 100K, they don't want to see it get destroyed by some amateur who doesn't know what he's doing.
That guy was probably more stressed than having fun. If you want fun, get a few buddies, a few bombs and set up a makeshift gravel circuit... the lulz will be endless.
if a man has fun smearing himself in shit and huggign everyone in a subway you say he should be allowed to do it? Fuck no. You can have fun yes, but when your fun begins to be at the expense of others, then you had better be a comedian.
People make Forza jokes and so on, but seriously, Vadim Kogay has really tarnished the image of the Am driver. I've watched this many times now, and i always end up shaking my head. We all know money doesn't buy talent, but the majority of Am drivers in Blancpain really hold their own and are very quick in their own right. It's significant that all of these incidents occurred within a 30-minute stint. He shouldn't be annoyed by our criticism, he deserves it. All of those errors are simply unacceptable at this level. I love Watty's blunt remark at 2:00!
Vadim Kogay isn't actually a bad driver. He's just a normal gentleman driver. But the reason he failed in his stint is because they had a problem with the brakes. The brake fluid was leaking resulting in less braking force. So, it's not his fault.
Guys, I don't want to play the devil's advocate, but If you watch the race since the beginning, you will see that the guy is super fast and drives very well ! He went from behind, overtaking everybody and stayed P2 for a long long time. His driving was fantastic, to go out of the track like that, the car must have had serious problems, Tires get used super fast on this track and some cars become very difficult to drive. I am sure he was just trying to finish his stint with an "impossible to drive" car. Check the whole race and you will see.
Racing games are hard as fuck because you have no feel of the car whatsoever. You don't know you've taken the corner too fast until you smack into the barrier at 130 mph, whereas a real car, you know what's going on all the time.
We need more obscenely rich guys to race their own cars and make the sport even more interesting! Maybe not with the professionals though, stick them in their own race.
I'd just like to clarify that the brake cooling system of the Ferrari was melted, which prevented any cooling of the brake caliper. Sure you can not classify the Russian among professional drivers, but this "little" problem should be reported to explain the many crashes of the Ferrari. Just saying.
Yes, I just read the same on Endurance Info. I mean, yes, you have a brake cooling system melted, your paydriver is doing a Dakar through Monza, and you allow your car tol stay on track...? Excuse me but I don't believe them. If you have a problem like that you will go to pit lane and try to fix it or to quit the race. It's my opinion after watching hundreds of races.
Pereira Schumy That's from Endurance Info which is a very good website :) So I don't think they're saying shit. But I totally agree with you : I don't know why they didn't call the car back to the pits to fix the problem.
uhm I dont know why everybody is hating but in Pro AM class he was Second ? and overall 10th. all this before his crashes. and if his car has a problem he cant drive...but we dont know that. so why does everybody keep hating? as if all faults can only be made by the driver...
Can't decide if this is a game simulator or a real race, if so I was like wtf that dirt lifting off and panel damage is amazing haha, but those graphics are still lacking haha xD
I know for a fact I'd drive as bad if not worse than this guy if I was in that car in that situation... so that's why I would start my racing career in a Miata, not a 458 race car.
normally on videos like this there is someone to remind us that even pro drivers make mistakes and 99% of the time they are good drivers. I don't think that is going to happen this time
yes, but none of us would take part in a race like this even if we had enough money like this guy, he's just holding back and annoying the other (professional) drivers, while screwing up that ferrari. he aint got nothing to do there even if he's rich
Tommy Miller Exactly but it's doubtful that any of us have done that, so for all we know we may drive as carelessly in real life. not 100% true but having seen some drivers on the road out there, not an impossibility
I'd be furious if I was his co-driver. Looked like B-Spec guy in Gran Turismo 4.
Yes! hahahaha I was thinking the same thing lol!
The commentators said that car was 2nd in class at the beginning of the video. The poor thing had to retire from being thrown all over the place like that...so yeah I bet his co-drivers were furious afterwords. Then again, he's probably the one who pays the bills, so they probably can't say too much to him.
Even Bob drives better lol.
We are only allowed to run 65 minutes per stint. I don't think the car went back out after his stint which is unfortunate for the last driver.
GumballCGT If the results on the Blancpain website are accurate, the car did finish, but dead last and about 8 laps down on the winner.
Money definitely doesn't buy talent.
It definitely buys dreams, happiness, etc.
Oh I forgot, and good time with women, and I don't mean prostitutes...
Salvador Tomas
Yes, not prostitutes. Shallow, sure. Maybe even manipulative. But at least they're not as upfront as prostitutes.
Salvador Tomas
You want the real golddiggers of course. The ones who are after you for the money. Guaranteed success!

Pereira Schumy Ironically he's already wrecked in practice at BES Round 2 at Silverstone :P
TeamBombersports UK
yeah xD I read it on twitter too
It's like my first time playing Forza! It's okay, time fixes all! :)
And the ability to go back in time when you fuck up works too... both work. He should've hit the Y button when he had the chance!
TheHm3 LOL!
OBD reports: "Massive error detected between steering wheel and headrest."
As his last action he overshot his pitbox and left the car in gear, you can see the crew members trying to push the car back
I watched this video so many times and I just noticed this! 😂
Where did he... what is he doing??
This is the perfect metaphor for Money doesn't buy talent
John Watson's commentary is awesome!
I found it kind of annoying, he completely spoke over the other guy and ignored him.
pizzapingvin watty used 2 do the same with cox when they both did BTCC
This guy is my hero. Taking the way we all drive in video games and doing it in real life. If he could ram the other cars he would will I now it
That "What is he doing?" Perfect way to describe this video.
9 years later and this video still never fails to make me chuckle.
I suspect "Vadim Kogay" is Jeremy Clarkson's pseudonym. POWERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
How is he even allowed on the track?
money
the whole principle behind blancpain racing is to let rich people be able to race their little toys...
He should stick to RC, my 6 year old cousin can drive better.MrTheMrhappy
MrTheMrhappy True, but not at the expense of peoples safety.
hyper privileged people. GT playing kids look up to them like they have skill
That is basically me when i'm playing Gran Turismo, only GT doesn't have damages
he probably bought his racing license too...
That vehicle is suffering from massive organic failure.
John Watson is a legend !!
Chill guys this is fake! clearly this video is about somebody playing forza 5 multiplayer... Can you see the NEXT GEN graphics ?
sarcasm ftw xD
This reminds me a little bit of me in iRacing.
Better than Maldonado!
Best FREE commercial for Ferrari that their cars have great ENDURANCE and they are UNBREAKABLE :) :) :) !!!! LoL
Truly one of the racing driver ever
"Hopefully there's a message! Even divine interception in this one might help!"
Lost it hahaha!!!
Money talks and talent walks ...
at the end of the day , he is the rich who owns the ferrari and enjoy the race , and all other haters just commenting on youtube , sorry but that is the fact
That matters? Just because he's rich doesn't mean I shouldn't want to confiscate his keys
It has NOTHING to do with him being rich and enjoying a race, it has EVERYTHING to do with race safety and his complete lack of it. The track marshals should have black flagged him after it became painfully obvious he had no idea what he was doing. I love Watty's blunt remark at 2:00!
I wish I had the resources to be able to drive such a car in such a race so badly. I would be sooo happy.
Vadim Kogay isn't actually a bad driver. He's just a normal gentleman driver. But the reason he failed in his stint is because they had a problem with the brakes. The brake fluid was leaking resulting in less braking force. So, it's not his fault.
but kogay is a repeat offender. This is not his only bad race, just the one he is most well known for. He was an equal terror at Spa.
Sure, his homicidal rejoins were down to the brakes.
I'd be willing to bet IMSA would say he's more than qualified for the Tudor United Sports Car Championship after what happened at Sebring.
I've raced that track in Grand Turismo on my PS3 and I nail the apex every time. ;-)
The car is painted green to reflect what he drives like... the green shell from Mario Kart.
Also, prepare for Part 2 - he's at Silverstone for BES Round 2, and he's already wrecked in practice!
I remember watching this race live. Instant classic, lol.
Guys, I don't want to play the devil's advocate, but If you watch the race since the beginning, you will see that the guy is super fast and drives very well ! He went from behind, overtaking everybody and stayed P2 for a long long time. Until you realize that the driver in the first stint was the best Silver driver in history that is Marco Seefried...
Its just Maldonado in disguise..
@ 02.40 - 'someone needs to take him, sit him down, give him a chill pill'
Alan Partridge, is that you?
it's green ferrari? it is! it is!!!!
I've seen him in some other races where he did quite well. This must have been a vary serious off day. Still, fun to watch.
I remember this :D
I can't laugh at the guy. This is me when I play any racing game.
Like any good Gran Turismo driver, he needs to learn how to use the barriers to his advantage!
jpe30 n
And that is exactly why I'm still playing with my stock golf I on GT
Racing games are hard as fuck because you have no feel of the car whatsoever. You don't know you've taken the corner too fast until you smack into the barrier at 130 mph, whereas a real car, you know what's going on all the time.
It's amazing how not true this statement is.
I was going to make a clever comment but im still facepalming...
Where's the dashcam
In your ass
I drive like this in Gran Turismo! Wow! How did he get in the car!!!! Sheesh!
he had a problem on his brake (front right, a part has melted) that is why it was very touchy to break.
I had fun watching.
Quick! Press select to reset back on the track!!
No wonder the gravel at Parabolica was replaced by tarmac. Easier for Kogay to run wide.
Commentators were a little bit unfair, Vadim Kogay didn't spin under the Yellow.
It was the Audi that spun under the yellow flags.
those cars are so ugly
Vodka!
AND he even misses his pitbox by a mile in the end which meant the pit crew couldn't refuel the car.
what happens when a ricer becomes millionaire over night
he is billionaire
ijustinw yet more evidence in the "money can't buy you EVERYTHING" argument. This time everything = SKILL
You know the saying "Everyone can drive a fast car but not everyone can drive a car fast"? About that...
Vadim Kogay, my new idol
That was hilarious.
We need more obscenely rich guys to race their own cars and make the sport even more interesting! Maybe not with the professionals though, stick them in their own race.
Reminds me of myself trying to plat Gran Turismo
lol, at least you honest. most gt and forza players swear they are pros!
this video needs some dashcam footage and disco music
That's a shame for all good drivers out there that don't have the money to sit at his place
Money can't buy skills
I'd just like to clarify that the brake cooling system of the Ferrari was melted, which prevented any cooling of the brake caliper. Sure you can not classify the Russian among professional drivers, but this "little" problem should be reported to explain the many crashes of the Ferrari. Just saying.

GODAMNIT VADIM!
Lol, that was just painful and funny all at the same time
This dude needs more track time lol. Cannot stay in the racing line and brakes so late. Damn Kogay let somebody drive your car mate.
aceman42 Earlier Marco Seefried brought the car into PRO AM lead. It got flushed down the toilet by him :(
"Under the yellow flag, he has gone off and that's going to go off like a cup of cold sick with the race director." LOLZ!
This time next year he will be world champion... Just you wait and see lol.
Haha what a performance!
uhm I dont know why everybody is hating but in Pro AM class he was Second ? and overall 10th. all this before his crashes. and if his car has a problem he cant drive...but we dont know that. so why does everybody keep hating? as if all faults can only be made by the driver...
the Pro driver started the race so that's why it was high up, and theres other Pro Am drivers in the same car as the Ferrari.......
The 1:00 to 1:02 turn-in delta between the green/red cars... green goes off (early apex), red goes through no problem.
At the start of the video, commentator says "Soy Catalán" in a perfect catalanized spanish...
Now he did it...:(
good skills
I, someone who has actually never raced in his life would probably be better at this because at least I wouldn't go off in every single corner.
Vadim you're breaking the car !
That AAAALLL happened in 40 minutes
When we thought it couldn't get much worse than Danica Patrick...
i would be so sad if i was that driver :(
If I had the money I'd be doing the exact same thing.
Dude that how I Drive on a racing game
I miss the Parabolica gravel trap. :(
This guy is a danger to himself and everyone on the attack
Hey I was watching and I noticed that your rear wing was not set right thats why you kept going left
He probably race in video games and thought he could take a Ferrari for a track
Can't decide if this is a game simulator or a real race, if so I was like wtf that dirt lifting off and panel damage is amazing haha, but those graphics are still lacking haha xD
I know for a fact I'd drive as bad if not worse than this guy if I was in that car in that situation... so that's why I would start my racing career in a Miata, not a 458 race car.

Every motherfucker on here drives like this in Gran Turismo or Forza or whatever, including me, so none of us can say shit
yes, but none of us would take part in a race like this even if we had enough money like this guy, he's just holding back and annoying the other (professional) drivers, while screwing up that ferrari. he aint got nothing to do there even if he's rich
sk8erm4tt
Apparently this was just a massive off-day for him though
Tommy Miller
Exactly but it's doubtful that any of us have done that, so for all we know we may drive as carelessly in real life. not 100% true but having seen some drivers on the road out there, not an impossibility
that was just brutal to watch
Primo hermano de Petrov, va en los genes.
If the race director didn't pull him off track after the 3rd off i don't know what the fuck he's even there for.
Scarey..... dangerous to all on track
Its like Justin bieber is driving
How much does a 458 gt3 cost
Well he seems to think he is playing Gran Turismo or something. That's just so wrong to have him on the Track.
Where he was going he don't need roads... or brakes either
Russians, they don't only crash in real life, they do it on the racetrack as well...
Wasn't he in that massive red flag tangle at Spa 24 around this time?
he must have money or sponsors :P
