pretty cool demonstration! but wasn't it more of a cad red light or vermilion that Zorn used? not quite sure myself, although alizarin crimson was popular in his time.
@@svenfigenschou7345 Part of what you find is he used a lot of other colors. I don't think he left a written record of the palette that is attributed to him today, there is that one portrait that includes the 4 colors on his palette. Even if it was at core his favourite palette, it is marketed today as something he never used it for. As step two in a student palette, at a time when the original palette components are not available. People still love it, but for all the people who use it, it is regrettable none of the paint companies actually make something like it. Something that plays together the same way, and churns out the same effects.
Zorn palette was nt these colours :) They are Yellow Ochre, Lead White, Vermillion Red and Ivory Black. You could easily check this
To check is dificult for him.
Actually zorn didnt use aliz.crimson, but he use vermilion

Is he your grandpa ? Is he gone to heaven?
Where is pure yellow color? Dont you need it in plein air?
I don't see the point of this. Its more work not less. And a lack of Cerulean blue.
Yes, and lack of greens
Take a look at Anders Zorn's work and your question will be answered..
@@svenfigenschou7345 nice work, but Andrew wyerth limited palette is something else.
