    Why am I just seeing this on Netflix? This was so good. The vocalists he's written for needed him, and he in turn needed them to bring life to his music.

      The man is Straight A Gangsta! When I saw hi on Popstars that was filmed in 2000 and broadcasted on 2001 on Fox Via the WB, he walked in and saw 26 Finalists from Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, Texas, and New York and boy were they scared. They knew that this man worked with The Cream Of The Crop of Music. In Canada alone if you said "Don't Play Any Music He Worked On" to any DJ especially Easy Listening Stations, they would be ruined. He made them sing a Sng written by The Duo who wrote Christina Aguileara's Genie In A Bottle called You Know I Can, some did great others didn't and within a little while Six Girls were Let go then Five then out of 15 only 10 stayed. Eden's Crush flopped and I think it was one of his biggest musical failures. Yet he soldiered on.

    Appreciate the honesty about his life and who he is and how he lived,, in the end all that matters is love, and his family truly loves him, and have showed us how to forgive and carry each other thru all the issues we all have,, truly the best song writer of our generation, ,, I’d would love to hear David Foster write for Glennis Grace, who is one of the best female singers in the world but needs a guy like David Foster,, great documentary

    If you told a DJ not to play any songs he worked on they would go bankrupt. When Cheryl Lynn did Soul Train singing "Got To Be Real" nobody knew it was that it was written by a Canadian Fellow who achieved more than even he thought he could achieve. He's also straight A Gangsta! When he worked on Popstars that was filmed in 2000 and broadcasted in 2001 and he put the Ladies through their paces. They were terrified. They knew he was working with a Man who worked with a veritable who's who from Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and in the future Toni Braxton.

    • @wereleeroads9311
      @wereleeroads9311 3 роки тому +1

      It wasn't. Got To Be Real was primarily written by David Paich. Foster was the secondary writer with Cheryl contributing some lyrics. Foster himself said that in a recent interview, saying, "David did all the heavy lifting on that one." Also, Foster is from British Colombia, not the Canadian Prairie. Joni Mitchell and Neil Young are from the prairie.

    @MsMadmax1 3 роки тому

    So, David Foster is responsible for ruining the group Chicago. While I'm sure Mr. Foster knows more about music than I'll ever know, he single handedly destroyed one of my favorite groups. Sure, the album he produced had several hit singles but he completely changed the whole sound of the group and turned it into the Peter Cetera band. Chicago was this great blend of jazzy percussion kind of rock band that didn't fit squarely into a mold. But that's what people liked about their music; it's uniqueness. Saturday in the Park, 25 of 6 to Four, Wishing you were here etc. are the songs that made them famous without David Foster's help. At first I thought the band sold out but now I realize they were pushed out. I think they would have been just as happy making a record with their songs, songs they were proud of and didn't really care if it won grammies or not, didn't care if it sold 50 million copies in its first week. He killed the integrity of the band and yes, I'm still pissed off about it too. He knows real talent when he hears it, he knows a hit song and who to arrange and produce it. He's also a soul sucking egomaniac.

    Pretty terrible documentary. No tension. No real story other than a weak try to wrap the whole thing in his attempt at getting shows on Broadway. Outside of that, it's mostly self-serving ego stroking, and just glosses over what a difficult person he can be. It also has no payoff at the end.
