I absolutely love David Foster’s music. He has written, recorded and produced so many great songs and albums. 😍
@DavidFoster-sd8om I’m watching from Denmark. 😊🇩🇰
@DavidFoster-sd8om My name is Simon. 😊 I’m sorry. I don’t speak French.
Why am I just seeing this on Netflix? This was so good. The vocalists he's written for needed him, and he in turn needed them to bring life to his music.
Bill Burr brought me here
Hahaha! Same here! 😂
OL' Bald BILLY BADASS brought me here TOO!!!!
Yassssssss!
Samies.
Mother Of God
one of the best documentary i have ever watched. LOVE it!
Extraordinary Talent...Wonderfull records productor. This man is like a beautiful music.
Just adore how he treats his wives and kids 😳
I would love to meet him. All the songs he has worked on are absolutely amazing
cheesy and hokey tunes
I love the music he has produced by all those with a vocal gift. His foundation is wonderful. Great doc.
it was all saccharine and it sucked. Buy a Radiohead record or something to change the lane from this complete a**holes trajectory
Bill Burr said this is the Grizzly Man diaries version of a music documentary. I am here for the action.
Ditto
Haha Grizzly Man was awesome
I’ve never heard of this guy. Bill was comparing him to Ron Burgundy, so I had to check this out.
What a great doculentary. I watched it last night on Netflix, then had to watch it all over again. What an amazing and gifted man.

I learned more about David Foster from the guys over at the Yacht Rock podcast than i think i ever would have otherwise. What a rocker!
The man is Straight A Gangsta! When I saw hi on Popstars that was filmed in 2000 and broadcasted on 2001 on Fox Via the WB, he walked in and saw 26 Finalists from Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, Texas, and New York and boy were they scared. They knew that this man worked with The Cream Of The Crop of Music. In Canada alone if you said "Don't Play Any Music He Worked On" to any DJ especially Easy Listening Stations, they would be ruined. He made them sing a Sng written by The Duo who wrote Christina Aguileara's Genie In A Bottle called You Know I Can, some did great others didn't and within a little while Six Girls were Let go then Five then out of 15 only 10 stayed. Eden's Crush flopped and I think it was one of his biggest musical failures. Yet he soldiered on.
Appreciate the honesty about his life and who he is and how he lived,, in the end all that matters is love, and his family truly loves him, and have showed us how to forgive and carry each other thru all the issues we all have,, truly the best song writer of our generation, ,, I’d would love to hear David Foster write for Glennis Grace, who is one of the best female singers in the world but needs a guy like David Foster,, great documentary
$$$ has a way of making people say nice things about you.... no matter what.
Watched the full on Netflix. I'm so moved till the end. If a viewer can sing, this film will make him/her want to sing his/her song, with Mr. Hit Man playing the piano.
I met him in Tampa,he was kind, and patient, and kind to my husband
Greatest of ALL TIME!
"I think at the core being, the loss of my grandfather was a defining moment in my father's life that I don't think he's reconciled yet. And I think he is in search of that perfect something that will make him finally stop feeling the need to move all the time."
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened - by grief, guilt, religious regulations that can bring no peace, and one million other things we carry in the dark & hidden away places of our hearts, which are smothered under success or addiction or inferiority complexes - and I will give you rest. Jesus
I will always love you David Foster, I will run to you
@@erinfoster7770 im not stupid, your a Nigerian prince who wants poor old grannies money
@@slughornpotter5071 that was my Dad real Num, sorry for disturbing you anyways, I’ve deleted it
Having grow up with a father with perfect pitch & 6 octive range..who could play Cello & piano....Plus he was A Colonial in a Mash Unit ( Alpha Maga Alpha physician & Mensa). I soo Get David Foster...I bet he drove the Director crazy! lol Can't wait to see it. Love Catherine saying, she has to go after him...because he of his admitting, he runs from his own conflict. Hey , I get she needs Him to run after her...& betting he knows he Is gonna have to finally run after someone else & he does it too!
My dream is to one day work with this man!! The Hit Man!! 👍👍
The biggest hit in his career was when his car hit that Broadway singer

@@erinfoster7770 My daughters dream was to one day sing in front of your dad!! She’s only 14!
Decades ago, I thought I was a weirdo for liking David Foster's works. While most of my friends didn't really consider his presence, I admired him as the person behind every success of many famous musicians.
Boma Khan......One vote? Looks like you were really ahead of your time.....lol!
I think so ... LOL😂
Weirdo because you listened to mom rock and they were listening to something cool like the Pixies?
The Hit Man yasss 🤘
Stupendous video. Great talent is driven. It is all about the music. Great cinematography and scripting. This is what great talent aspires to.
Great Video! TWO THUMBS UP!
David Foster's music reminds me of Stanley, Rugrats, and The Loud House.
This guy is just as good of a keyboardist as a producer.
Temecula CA-Sebastian
If you told a DJ not to play any songs he worked on they would go bankrupt. When Cheryl Lynn did Soul Train singing "Got To Be Real" nobody knew it was that it was written by a Canadian Fellow who achieved more than even he thought he could achieve. He's also straight A Gangsta! When he worked on Popstars that was filmed in 2000 and broadcasted in 2001 and he put the Ladies through their paces. They were terrified. They knew he was working with a Man who worked with a veritable who's who from Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and in the future Toni Braxton.
It wasn't. Got To Be Real was primarily written by David Paich. Foster was the secondary writer with Cheryl contributing some lyrics. Foster himself said that in a recent interview, saying, "David did all the heavy lifting on that one." Also, Foster is from British Colombia, not the Canadian Prairie. Joni Mitchell and Neil Young are from the prairie.
@@wereleeroads9311 I stand corrected. Either way so many folks admire him. I'm glad that Peter Cetera put him in his place. Earth Wind & Fire's Maurice White "corrected" him when they worked on "After The Love Has Gone" and called them "Boys".
Can’t wait for this 🤘🏻🤙
Glad Peter Cetera participated
for a change
Peter only played bass on one song from Chicago 17. I guess he didn’t want to hear Critiques
Biggest Cheese Ball songwriter/Producer of all time.
agree... ''spectacle and fluff''
Lmfao...how do you really feel?
Oh well here's a comment from the cheap seats at Loserville!
Bill burr brought me here, twice. Twice!
Beyoncé has more Grammys than David Foster. The Grammys are now a joke
Why? Beyonce is the Queen of fucking Everything..she handled showbizz so much better than Whitney, Michael, Prince etc. Big shout out earned! And worth every Grammy!
Overblown yet fragile egos...that Peter Cetera response over a note in a bass part. Jeez.
Peter is an established cat, and Foster is a crass MF'r.
When will the documentary be broadcast on tv?
Nov 28 to CTV and available for steaming off of Crave as of Nov 29
💕💕💕.
Good documentary!
Look, he's a human; ok, snowflake. He's from a generation of men that were raised to provide
My problem with him is that he is a vulgar bore. This doc, was boring, just like him.
brainsareus snowflake you stupid SOB
@@brainsareus 100% agreed. I found him to be arrogant and self-absorbed. Just a lot of patting himself on the back for how talented and great he is....... PUKE.
How come in the documentary they never mentioned his work with Neil Diamond and Olivia Newton John
I love you bill burr!
Bill Burr said this guy is like Ron Burgundy. That’s hilariously funny!
Middle aged white women all agree David Wallace is their muse.
Not available on Netflix Canada, seriously 😐

❤️
It's obvious if he knows how he wants the songs sung...... any great singer can sing it. Wouldn't be as great..... But, he picks the perfect singer for each song. Even a bad singer......can make his songs sound great.
The Michael bay of music
So, David Foster is responsible for ruining the group Chicago. While I'm sure Mr. Foster knows more about music than I'll ever know, he single handedly destroyed one of my favorite groups. Sure, the album he produced had several hit singles but he completely changed the whole sound of the group and turned it into the Peter Cetera band. Chicago was this great blend of jazzy percussion kind of rock band that didn't fit squarely into a mold. But that's what people liked about their music; it's uniqueness. Saturday in the Park, 25 of 6 to Four, Wishing you were here etc. are the songs that made them famous without David Foster's help. At first I thought the band sold out but now I realize they were pushed out. I think they would have been just as happy making a record with their songs, songs they were proud of and didn't really care if it won grammies or not, didn't care if it sold 50 million copies in its first week. He killed the integrity of the band and yes, I'm still pissed off about it too. He knows real talent when he hears it, he knows a hit song and who to arrange and produce it. He's also a soul sucking egomaniac.
These people live for praise and money. Sometimes coke
Lol
I was looking for David Foster the conman. Wrong place.

Pretty terrible documentary. No tension. No real story other than a weak try to wrap the whole thing in his attempt at getting shows on Broadway. Outside of that, it's mostly self-serving ego stroking, and just glosses over what a difficult person he can be. It also has no payoff at the end.
Responsible for the worst pop music and littered the world irresponsibly with children. I loved his rear view mirror morality in this documentary. He didn't care then and doesn't now
He did save a life but almost killing one. :)
You live a charmed life.
I could barely watch it. His crass ego grandiose narcissist. It was repulsive his behavior and candor.
good producer, but kinda full of himself.
I thing he is nothing Special
because he is very special
you are correct. to compare him to quincy jones is just insulting. i wouldn't even put him in the list of top 50/100 great producers ever. plus, i read the documentary is getting some horrendous reviews as he doesn't come off as a genius but a really smug piece of shit who thinks he is awesome because he won a shitload of grammys and sold millions and millions and millions of albums. milli vanilli also won a grammy. a bunch of no-talent, has-been one hit wonders have won grammys. grammys don't mean shit.
I thing so, too.... :)
@@thevoid99 mediocrity is king.
Agreed. Special for me are Stevie Wonder and Prince. Multi-talented, musicians, songwriters, producers, so much variety in their sound. Foster isn't a patch on either of them. His head is far bigger than his talent, IMO.
Soooooooo arrogant
