I say this all the time, this man single handedly revived and saved the band CHICAGO! And they weren't appreciative of it because they felt it wasn't Chicago but it was! David gave Chicago what they would sound like in the 1980s and he achieved that big time!!
I appreciate David's heart and his recounting of the story of the 5 year old little girl who needed a liver transplant, and how his gift of an airline ticket meant the world to her and her family. Bless you, David Foster. We just made it through a second kidney transplant for our only child, Julian. He's 16 now, and his first transplant was at age 3, and he and my husband returned to AZ in October from Stanford Children's where they had been for 4 months. David has written/produced/performed amazing songs and worked with amazing people, it his clearly his gift and strength, but it is his heart for transplant kids and their families that makes him a rock star in my book.
I love David Foster's confidence and honesty. Yes, you could view him as "arrogant", or "cocky", but he just strikes me as someone who knows who he is, what he wants, and is willing to do what it takes to get it. There's nothing wrong with that. He isn't afraid to voice his opinion and will tell you what he is really thinking. That's why he's been so successful. The world is full of phonies. He isn't one of them.
This was an awesome interview, respectful but not “fan boy” interviewer held his own with Mr. Foster. What a huge honor to have David Foster accompany you on the piano. Nice!
That was an amazing interview. There are few musicians/song writers who I’m in awe of and not that it would matter to David Foster but everything he has done over 40 decades makes me a respectful, proud Canadian. Hats off to David Foster.
I think you meant to say years, not decades. If he's done anything over 4o decades (400 years), it would be a miracle, since he hasn't been alive that long.
I never knew how many songs that David Foster had written. He is so talented. Judge his music but not his married life and divorces. Great interview and I enjoyed it very much. Love all his songs.
I really enjoy listening to David's stories. And nice questions, I always wanted to ask his fave song, non greatest hits, to DF when I get a chance to meet him in person.
When he says the music came through him not from him that makes so much sense because in my line of work I work as a master holistic healer a lot of times information when I'm in front of a client around a client information will come through me not from me many times we will be talking about their relative and I hear myself talking and saying things I've never done before and the client will tell me that's exactly how my grandma sounded that's the way she would have said it..... Their past loved one and the messages from them come through me to the client.....
What a great man. He is so talented. Touches my heart the best him is so humanitarian. Blessings to awesome people like him. Oh yes you are the inspiration.

I know what David meant talming about the 5 year old girl. At the moment also when sisters met it touched his Humanity deeply. Its called empathy. A great tennis player. Mr. Agasi once said on stage that David was a ery kind man. A giving man. He is. He is an example to us all. Its not about the money. Its about being a good human being whatever you have. Thanks David. 😊😊😊😊

My favorite df collaboration was with Peter Allen on his Bicoastal album. Great artist, brilliant songs, horn section, strings, synth, never hear that again. I think he's being p.c. on today's musics though, doesnt want to burn bridges, can't blame him for that.
Ha! Just got to the part “have you ever met someone you wish you hadn’t?” I was a festival promoter/operator/owner for many years in the early 2000’s and met many of my hero’s. It’s a shame that there are young UA-camrs pretending to know music who sit there with headphones listening for the FIRST TIME the most iconic songs by artists who really knew music and had no auto tune.
