Oh my gawd I am so happy I found this video. I always wanted to see people make their fros into shapes just like this, but I never knew it was a thing so I didn’t know what term to search to find out myself. “Hair sculpting” is legit something that I’ve always wished I could do with my hair (like hair bows, since I’m white with A 1 or 2), but I know it’ll never be the same as something like this! This is so cool to see! Absolute hair-art! ❤️ I’m honestly just here to see these ladies hair, and I can’t really be part of the argument cause I’m just an admirer of the art and not someone who partakes, but I’ll say what I always say when it comes to “stealing” art: Art is about inspiration. The painter who paints a flower is copying nature’s art. Nothing is its own concept because the idea came from something else (even new ideas, cause they usually come from an inspiration to make something they’re thinking of better). I understand the concept of “gatekeeping” traditionally POC hairstyles, but just remember: if you had the thought, chances are, so did a million other people. Most just haven’t shown it to the internet. This world is very big, and you’re not the only person who has these ideas. ❤
I didn't know there is a drama?? Hair sculpting has been around for such a long time and even in art/illustration media(coming from a person who studies Character design)I thought it was cool to see it getting more amazing "to wear out " on a regular day than costume and cosplay. And I would of loved them to collaborate....They would really expand the fun ways to wear "natural coils" in various forms.
Sigh. The crabs in a barrel mentality that plagues the black community strikes again. We will never advance as a community in ANY field if we keep doing this to each other. We hate seeing each other succeed. It's so depressing.😢
i couldnt believe it when i saw the title i was like.. theyre not even the same styles lol how u gonna say someone stole an entire concept like u made it smh i hope we can all move past this bc like that 1 girl said this REALLY is childish
She's my friend's cousin. I met her once and I've just talked to her on IG for the most part. She is such a sweetheart. Not confrontational at all. She's probably stressed out. I feel bad.
Then we need to go back to Africa. It is sad people are only focused on monetary value. Depending on the ethnic group how the hair styled whether cornrows , sculpting, etc, had meaning. Could indicate spiritual practices, status and other aspects of the culture.
Hair sculpting has been a thing before any of these women were born. Just putting your hair in a circular fro can be considered sculpting considering we have to fluff and pat it around to get a perfectly symmetrical circle.
Only copying situation I’d make a big deal about is if someone tries copying me and my mannerisms because they want to be me. Feels like you can’t really create anything brand new these days. You’d have to think far outside the box
I find it SOOOO strange that Kwiin is claiming that she started hair sculpting. Like hair sculpting has been a talent black women have had since the beginning of time (that i know of). So this entitlement is so unfounded. We can do so much together than argue.
I knew dolar first and i'm currently following her on IG. Their sculpting is really different and the sky is big enough. The favt solar acknowledged her is enough. She will be alright. And hair sculpting will continue to exisit.
This is so sad. I've only seen Solar before and now this other awesome hair sculpturer has made a needless fuss kind of putting me off even seeking her out I hate this for her
I initially thought the word for word video was a parody/skit. Ooh that's not a good look. Sounds like she can't think for herself enough to come up with a way to at least tweak the narration 🤦
They use to do hair sculpting at the hair shows every year this is not new. I dont know why this grown women is targeting the young lady over doing her hair. Their styles arent consistently the same or similar. I never looked at their content and thought one reminded me of the other.
Beyond the drama, I'm inspired by these young women. This is how I imagine what it would be like if we weren't ravaged by self-hate, colonization, and white supremacy. What exciting and fun things we would do with our hair that only our hair could do. How much beauty and self-expression would we indulge in?! I love both their style, and I hope more girls jump into the niche because it is more significant than just one creator or another (because both are dope!!), it's about the collective consciousness of black women enjoying exactly how they are made and refusing to conform to beauty standards that literally deny our existence. Take up space sisters!!! Let our beautiful ancestors inspire us, let us evolve this natural hair community beyond hair types and texture, and let us have fun, enjoy our hair, love ourselves, and protect each other. With love
I'm not so tech savy so Instagram or tic tock isn't my thing. However, I've seen some hair style here that i did during my days as a struggling foreign student. 😅 Washed my hair, put it into Bantu notes and before classes the next day, i didn't knkw what to do, so i just unplaited the knots, left the different partitions standing up and went for classes 😅. I never looked anywhere for references. Some of these inspirations can just come in your mind at what you may call bad hair days and you don't even have to look somewhere for reference to give credit as everyone seems to want these days. If our ancestors came back, we would have to pay back for all their innovations 😂😂
As a white person I don’t belong here, but what these women do with their hair is just amazing, my hair could never and that’s fine, because it’s a different type of beauty. The girl that does those super intricate designs with wire and everything, is just pure art!! I get that the everyday person may not want to wear it like that every day, but the "stiffness" of coily hair is what makes it unique, and finding ways like hair sculpting is an ART form. I stand here amazed by these looks, so uniquely black, so uniquely African, so uniquely natural. It is gorgeous to me and the fact that my hair could never does not make me appreciate it less or find it less inspiring or impressive. These girls are doing great, wish them the best, collabs and more exposure so more and more black people find comfort in their hair instead of pain.
Even if Solar was inspired by her, she doesn’t have to give her credit in every single video as if Solar is only doing the hairstyles the other creator is doing. Solar has done designs the other creator hasn’t done I’m sure. She needs to get over herself
This is just silly. My parents lived next to a beautiful Black woman in the 60s that did some incredible things with her natural hair. I was a baby and only saw photos. She had a different style for every cocktail party, poker game, pool party, etc.
Are you tired of people with the damn drama live your life do your hairstyle that makes you happy and keep it pushing I can see if she kept doing every single thing and claiming it was hers and claiming that she did first person and she did that, but she didn’t do that. She’s having fun, she go get a life

Thanks for this, I've seen a lot of hair sculpting videos with your hair type or similar on TikTok. Look it up, it's really amazing.

Me too
Sigh.

They have very different styles so this is confusing. I rebuke this drama. They’re both talented.

Solar's voice trembling made me so upset. 😞
It's probably from the disappointment, we've all made up friendships in our minds that don't turn out right. It can be quite disappointing.
That's why i believe her, she doesn't sound aggressive or problematic at all.
@@tintamanengu that’s so true.😕
She's my friend's cousin. I met her once and I've just talked to her on IG for the most part. She is such a sweetheart. Not confrontational at all. She's probably stressed out. I feel bad.
The other girl should feel ashamed
I adore Solar’s work
It's amazing 😍
If the point if hair sculpting is to make wearing you hair more fun, what is the point of NOT copying them?
Wow! The way they style their hair into different shapes is AMAZING!!!! Those women are very talented and have beautiful hair. Great video today. 🖤🤎
I was blown away too🥰❤️💚
Eradicate this mentality that we can’t all coexist in a space… this is so stupid
then who tf started sculpting fros ... maybe we need to give them credit

I didn’t know this was still going on 😢 I’m sad they can’t seem to find common ground.
Hopefully they do soon
I find it SOOOO strange that Kwiin is claiming that she started hair sculpting. Like hair sculpting has been a talent black women have had since the beginning of time (that i know of). So this entitlement is so unfounded. We can do so much together than argue.
Shit since tribes and slavery

“This creator copied a couple of my videos word-for-word… maybe she doesn't know” 😂😂😂 oh believe her 😂
Ppl been sculpting their Afros since before either of them was even born, it’s crazy this has become a drama😭
Are people actually claiming shapes? 😂😂😂😂 and toga styles?
Only on TikTok
Love their videos, just unnecessary drama that I will choose to ignore.
Why do I feel like crying 😭
These people saying that Solar is copying the I the creator has clearly never seen a hair show 😂
This is so sad. I've only seen Solar before and now this other awesome hair sculpturer has made a needless fuss kind of putting me off even seeking her out
I hate this for her
This is sad.
It is especially with both of them being so talented
I initially thought the word for word video was a parody/skit. Ooh that's not a good look. Sounds like she can't think for herself enough to come up with a way to at least tweak the narration 🤦

Agreed, love them both.
The person copying the other person IS SO WEIRD!!!- LOL- like really really really weird- WHY DID she do this?
She doesn’t own hair sculpting and she has credited many people she found inspo from
I never seen these 2 people in my life and I can't believe they are at odds~
10:27 it’s giving Melania Trump 😭
I remember that speech😀

Idk if you saw but the other creator actually did respond and doubled down
No I didn't see that
