That’s really about it. No care for what happens to children after they’re born though. Had their been some consistency in reforming foster care and adoption systems or generally speaking the quality of life for children of either poorer backgrounds or lack of permanent guardians, jt would have made sense. @@dippledopple religious people, especially Christians being anti abortion is so dumb. The Christian faith only started being anti-abortion recently. Most people then believed abortion was fine because the soul would only be present in the time of birth, because otherwise miscarriages would contradict the principle of God's benevolence and also send some souls directly to wait for final judgement without having a chance to prove themselves. Basically by being anti-abortion because "it's murder" they are acknowledging their god is evil.
She was for genocide? I know we want heroes to look up to but is a woman who is also for causing whole groups of people to go extinct the best hero we can find?
Kamala will not be remembered kindly in history. She was monumentally unlikeable, couldn't read the room by campaigning the status quo and could not articulate her platform without word salad in uncontrolled interviews.
Someone on twitter said “visit grief but do not stay in it”. Rest and keep going! The midterms are in 2026 which means an opportunity to get the people we want elected!
Do you honestly think elections will still be a thing? Some of y’all really are not understanding these crazy people nowadays republicans are not the same as John McCain or Romney or bush they are crazy!
Like who? Most Democrats got crushed on the house and Senate lmao, more black people than ever before voted trump more Hispanic men voted trump than Kamala
@hurricanemarigolds2818 Yeah, I think possibly 2026, DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY not 2028, if we don't get 2026, and even if we do get 2026, we would have to secure house and senate for a 2028. 😖
Before election day, I had to think about it critically and thought to myself, "If they didn't vote in a white woman to presidency, why would they turn out for a black woman?" I really wanted to believe I was wrong.
This right here and Hillary was over qualified. They 're not voting for a Women ever when their whole agenda is to set women back to the dark ages. What's even crazier is the men voting to screw women over goes home to women every night and that women is ok laying up with their enemy.
they ignored it...the moment President Biden was basically forced to step down, i knew Trump was going to win..and i knew he was going to win Georgia...when Georgia gave more votes to a black man running for the senate seat than to a black woman running for the governor's seat, i knew it was because she is a woman...and i knew VP Harris was not going to get the votes in Georgia...people refuse to believe that the majority of people in the U.S. don't support women...
BRUH, I said it the same day they picked her!!! But my coworker was so optimistic and positive I began to fool myself into thinking she had a chance. Even if she lost, I didn’t think there was the slightest chance that he would sweep up ALL BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT. Fam, there’s no one to keep him in check now cause Republicans are always up to play ball with Republicans even if the ball is being used for a bat shit crazy game!
We didn’t vote for Hillary because of her husband. Why should we believe that Kamala has two brain cells to rub together when her record proves otherwise?
The wave of hatred, sexism and racism I’ve seen on Twitter right now is heart wrenching. This video eased that tense feeling in my gut. I’m feeling a little hopeful, I want to believe most of us are compassionate and can coexist. I have hope in humanity.
Large swaths of the American populace (mostly the right) straight up hate other humans. They grew up on the American dream and individualism so when they try to put on the mask of caring for other citizens and kids it falls flat, they're genuinely not built to care for people, and it shows in the way they explode when they have a debate with a dissenter.
I'm an illiterate American😔 I took civics and economics and this shi is kinds confusing but Im still competent I believe. Also idk, putting economics over human rights is crazy
It's how we will always work as a species. How do you fight for human rights when you are starving, watching your kids starve, you are living out on the street or a few sick days away from it, and you know winter is coming and you don't have a coat or shoes without holes? That is the reality of a huge swath of the working class in this country today. Waiting for some billionaires to actually give a damn about those needs for any reason is the part that is completely illogical. Yeah, Donald Trump and Elon Musk... famously known for caring about the struggle of poor people...🤨🤦🏻♀️ But worrying about survival is literally what humans are programmed to do. It's how our species survives. And under late stage capitalism, the economy equates to survival unless you are rich.
It's not even about economics. Dollar to dollar, every trump supporter who claimed the economy was their reason is an idiot who has no understanding of economics nor our policies.
Just because you are now doesn't mean that you have to be forever. You're not doomed to incompetence, you already clearly know what you don't know, so just try to fill in the gaps and go from there. Be sure to be critical about everything you take in and compassionate to loved ones. Peace and love.
Not only that but it seems like the best economists in the country breaking down Trump’s plan and determining we’d fare worse because of them wasn’t enough. I’m half-way convinced that this terrible world constantly needs to be retraumatized by WW2-like events. We seem to come together and get better for the common good when we’re forced to, but it seems like the generations forget as time passes on. The US in its current form probably won’t exist as Project 2025 mauls it, but hopefully we’ll rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Too bad a ton of innocent people have to die for the dumbest to catch a hint.
I keep saying that we gotta stop waiting on the democrats tell us who to vote for. We gotta take the next 4 years to mobilize around the person we NEED. House and senate included.
None of that will matter, because when the time comes, the DNC will pick their corrupt stooge to put in place. DNC have told us the past 20 years, they will always prefer conservative/republican winning all branches than ever support socialist, pro-worker or anti-war policies.
And don't we have a bunch of political UA-camrs? Surely leaving comments, chats, whatever, urging them to consider running for president, would help. As would encouraging anyone you know who appears politically charismatic to run, whether for local offices, or for higher ones.

No you’re TOTALLY right the amount of times I’ve seen people made false claims about the government , the economy and about what a president can do is RIDICULOUS. People are really dumb in this country
The "why didn't Kamala do these policies earlier" bit was peddled for so long and remained uncontested for so long that it actually convinced people that the VP was like Prezzy 2.0 in everything but name and that she held out on them. It's nauseating but they didn't do enough to nail down blatantly and factually incorrect statements, which goes for a lot of the campaign blunders actually.
Unfortunately the average person isn’t very smart, especially with their political decisions. Even those voting for Kamala don’t really think what they’re actually voting for It’s mostly superficial understanding and lack of proper research. But it’s amusing that we’re in an age where access to knowledge is at the click of our fingers and yet we still don’t utilise it. Media literacy is also so bloody poor it’s shocking.
As someone outside the USA I'm very worried what this means for the rest of the world. Obviously we cannot vote in your election, but we really need the USA to lower their CO2 emissions drastically so we're not all gonna die from climate disaster and to stop aiding Israel.
Climate work is being done across the country to resist. There's no better time join your local climate org to get work done. Sierra Club, 350, Extinction Rebellion, Citizens Climate Lobby, climate changemakers. All are worthwhile.
@@eryn857 But we can’t get any federal laws about it for the next four years considering Trump doesn’t believe in it. Maybe we can try state by state but seeing the poll results, I bet most of the states are on trumps side

Also lets talk about how a lot of Democratic initiatives to improve the economy over the past 4 years were thwarted by the republicans and their control of congress 😐

community organizing and building is necessary regardless of who wins, which I'm reminding myself. also, the collective grief and anger are signs that we care about each other.
“Collective grief and anger are signs that we care about each other” is definitely not true, not to be shady or anything. There’s a lot of grief and anger because a lot of people are actually starting to resent each other (especially, forming resentment towards white men, white women and latino men). This election has only showed that a majority of people actually don’t care about each other and the majority of people would much rather platform a bankrupt, convicted felon as president than a candidate advocating for women’s healthcare and reproductive rights.

The ideas are popular, we just need to get out our own bubble. Our own house. (And maybe read up on how the rainbow coalition even worked beyond charisma) I will not let my little siblings inherit ash. I will not let my children and grandchildren inherit ash. No more. We rise.
It was never about who we elect but how we move! If there's something I learned, it's that we must move together and stick with our own groups look out for each other and ensure our future is secured No matter what we will live and we will survive!!

But despite everything, I want to say that do not lose hope. Do not lose hope in humanity, in people, for history has shown that even the darkest of nights shall pass to bring a new dawn. No matter how hopeless you might feel, no matter how helpless, remember that humanity shall always rise. Hate, racism, misogyny, sexism, violence may win once, or twice, or thrice. But we must not give up, for even the cruelest dictator had his fall in history. We must not give up, because if we give up, we give up on ourselves.
I am not surprised at all. If you take in consideration that this society takes criminals, put them on a pedestal and call them superstars. A society that forget horrible things very quick the moment you point the other way. I am not surpised at all
Ngl, even though I don’t agree with the Republican Party, the way they’ve been able to organize and work to get their policies passed is very impressive. Democrats need to take notes. Cause they make all these promises but carry no bite behind their bark.
It's because society as a whole is leaning towards leftist policies so they feel attacked and are more inspired to vote. Most people don't like racism, sexism, classism etc anymore. Those are the standards that the republican party now stands by for some reason.
Republicans have more representatives in Congress. Flyover country is Republican (due to a serious lack of not understanding offshoring of their jobs started under a Republican president in the 1980s). Republicans have an easier path to passing laws. This isn’t rocket science.
Ah yep gotta admire their tenacity 😒 I really hope the dems see this is a wake up call. And I’m hoping they’re racing to put together protections against trump now.

Most of all it’s great that we still have a liberal senator win in Massachusetts.

I love your hope. And your resolve, it is literal medicine. When conversations about this election and upcoming administration get too dark, I physically start to ache in my abdomen. Then I listen to this and the sickness is gone. Thank you.
This is a great analysis I think you are spot on. Kamala needed to branch out from Biden policy. She somehow stayed too close to Biden who people were already dissatisfied with, while slowly moving more to the centre to appeal to right voters. but in the end the right wouldn't vote for her anyway and she just alienated herself from the left due to her stances on some key issues being too close to the centre and status quo, or just the same thing biden was doing which people were not satisfied with.
Biden's policy has resulted in 1.9% inflation. It will never be this low under any Republican administration, let alone Trump's. If Kamala had thrown shade at Biden, she would have lost black people like me. Biden already got the shiv put in his back, by Pelosi and Co. Kamala was in a no win situation, unfortunately.

This election just happened. So no, there will not be a lot of hope and solutions today or maybe even this week. People are pissed and rightfully so (especially black women and black LGBTQIA+ people). People need time to be angry, we just can’t become apathetic. I know we always want to get up and move and organize and I love that about us, but that will also be our biggest downfall. We have so much ancestral and current trauma and this election result is bringing up a lot of those emotions. Sometimes you just need to stop and assess. Feel your feelings. Either way, I'm proud of our VP, she ran an amazing race and I look forward to seeing what she does in the years to come.
I dont know whats going to happen. But whatever does please do everything you need to take care of yourselves, so that you may help others. People are going to depend upon each other whatever happens. And know you arent alone, there are many people who feel the same way we do. One day this will pass, when I dont know, but it will as all governments (especially fascist ones) do. I dont know what the world will be like when that happens. But it will be different. Maybe even worse some in ways. Maybe not. Maybe even better in others. Maybe not even in our lifetime. But people down the line will live in that world some day. Grieve, and then get up and do something about it from the position you can. 💙
i think what really hurts my heart, is that american's care so little for each other, for themselves, and maybe for their children. they voted against their own interests because for some reason they've convinced themselves that a pre pandemic economy will return under trump, crazy.

As a straight person, Its ridiculous how they're prioritizing the discrimination against peoples sexuality and controlling women🤦🏿
Im a man but it still pisses me off that they overturned roe v wade. its a womans own body why tell her what to do. besides that there a teens even preteens that have kids that would want to abort their child but cant.. it really scares me because i worry they might overturn more than just that.
@@justanotherinternetwiseguy8018 They will. While using the Bible and morality to justify their actions
Birth control

Anything medical care dealing with pregnancy.
@@justanotherinternetwiseguy8018Men’s bodily autonomy typically is shared for both men and women (besides the draft) so anything targeting the healthcare of men would likely just be a general healthcare issue
I feel like if there was something more specific, say, the draft was removed a while ago or included women, and then suddenly was recently overturned to return or dis-include women again, perhaps a lot more men would understand
Then again most men and women who are anti abortion have religious ties. That’s really about it. No care for what happens to children after they’re born though. Had their been some consistency in reforming foster care and adoption systems or generally speaking the quality of life for children of either poorer backgrounds or lack of permanent guardians, jt would have made sense. The same people voting Trump or for anti abortion laws won’t even support increasing taxes in order to support free school meals for all pupils in education. It’s ironic
@@justanotherinternetwiseguy8018 Children or teens SHOULDN'T be in that position anyway, so whether or not they overturn it is irrelevant
Kamala was the first madam colored candidate to get this close to winning; she did not lose. This woman is legendary,
Is capitulating to conservative desires and parading around the Cheney's really legendary though?
no she is fucking not, but still better than Trump I suppose.
No she lost, not to mention she was pretty much ducking the public when she lost the race anyway
Hopefully we still have elections then.

This right here and Hillary was over qualified. They 're not voting for a Women ever when their whole agenda is to set women back to the dark ages. What's even crazier is the men voting to screw women over goes home to women every night and that women is ok laying up with their enemy.

I know it feels like they think they can say anything now.
@@Warblertownsend Who’s gonna stop them? Of course, they feel emboldened.

Baby, that's how Twitter always is. I deleted all that shit
@ then because Kamala had the better plan, for all those who cared for economics, she should've won

It’s hard to be honest. Majority of people has voted for illusion. A false promise of cheaper goods. They chose a sweet lie over protecting their fellow citizens, their neighbors, their families.
We’ve been betrayed.
Lil Bill sent me here. Perfect way to close out my analysis watches tonight ❤

The most important thing right now is maintaining hope
Which is gonna be hard cuz a good chunk of people are already hopeless and an even bigger chunk is telling them they should be hopeless cuz their gonna lose a lot of stuff bout now
Are you saying At Least 11% of the American population graduated colleges and can’t name the 3 branches…? I had to go back and check that part multiple times to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Oh lord help
I have a right leaning friend (He has several friends from both sides himself so I'm sure he had this conversation several times) and he was sympathetic and understood my feelings and wants me to always come to him as far as my despair, but said Dems name calling in the usual way of calling the other side sexist and racist etc etc is wrong - he does say this as a Hispanic guy it's important to note. What am I supposed to think and say when the racist comedian shit is not even a month old (As if I even had to stick to one thing there)? When every Trump supporter was viciously sexist against Harris and support policies that fly in the face of women's freedom and a man who is a perverted sham? When Vance, who will more likely than not be president himself in a year or so, thinks my decision to be childfree makes me less than nothing?
I'm dirt poor and between jobs and struggling economically too, and yet, human rights are not and has not on the chopping block in my mind. I'm crying with a vengeance. Trump and Vance and the rest stand for everything I do not. Absolutely nothing about them I like. I'm in PA which is now a red state sponsored by Elongated Muskrat. Entire family minus me voted for Trump, and we're a disabled family on a housing voucher, everything Trump hates in Americans. This feels like a joke. The "eating cats and dogs"/"Dems control the weather" guy is in charge of the direction of the human race courtesy Project 2020We'reSoScrewed5. I dunno. I'm an optimist by nature but this is killing me. I plan to ignore the news for once and scrape whatever I can for donating to women's shelters, Palestinians and green energy initiatives when I'm working again. I'd prefer to move to a country with ideals I can believe in and be proud of, but I'm here, so I'll try to leave it better than I found it.
I've always lived and been around Latin people. A lot of them check off white for race and identify with White. They will vote white. They don't care about how their vote will affect their people. They want to sit at a white men's table. Not all of them think this way but a lot of them feel this way.
You’re a complete bot lady 😂 project 2025 is some radical right fever dream that’s not real and won’t be real. Any sane man will tell you it’s wrong trump even said so himself. And congrats you played yourself you’re broke and donating money to some mfs who don’t even care about you? Do you wanna guess why you’re a broke bum? . Stfu and do some research before making a fool of yourself.
I've done volunteering for certain avenues (mostly environmental), but I'm going to switch more to community based volunteer work. I won't let them break me, I will keep helping those around me especially those who are very likely going to have it much worse than me soon.
I'm not in the right mental space for this video right now...just popping in to say that you look SO good
❤
Hope you come back to it at some point. It's really good 💙
I love the literary break down beloved 😫🤍🤍

This video not only educated me more / prepared me for the next election. it also calmed me and made me feel as if its gone be alright. i truly appreciate your content ❤❤
He’s good a selling a vision, because of that people from both sides wanted to vote for him, and think he can fix it (the economy) when he’s not.
What vision was he selling? Whining? The only vision from the GOP was ugly hate.
I appreciate you focusing on education, instead of blame. "What can we learn from this so our next steps are better illuminated?" should be our focus.
Honestly watching this has been the most reassuring message I’ve received all day. I was feeling hopeless and now I at least have hope because educated people like you are helping make a difference, thank you 💙💙
"Vote in November you'll never need to vote again. It'll be fixed it'll be fine" - Trump. America is dead.
Overall her campaign wasn't good, people underestimate or didn't realize that many Hispanic/Latino people are conservative along with other cultures of color. Along with the Isreal support, didn't say what she'd do for the working class that was convincing. I voted for her knowing she wasn't going to win.
And Democrats needed to be louder about the policies that they pass...MAKE IT KNOWN AND CALL THE PRESS. pist about it on socal media if they dont put their progress in our faces we wont see it.
So true, that's why people like trump win, they're louda and even though they're wrong, people don't care enough to see it unless there is something even louder talking about it.
This honestly really lifted my spirits today. Thank you, I'm keeping my head up, and I'm going to do my best to look out for my community.
So real. I'm not happy he's president but I hope that him being in office will motivate more people to action / political involvement
Oh I hear you so much! In solidarity from Québec (French Canada)!
Also in solidarity from Québec!
Thank you for this, your political videos always feel like a hug🫂
I’m still shocked the turnout rate for voting was 50%? Or less? Do Americans not just care enough to vote
Correct, most Americans do not care because they think it doesn’t affect them or their vote won’t matter.
As someone who didn't vote, I didn't like what either was selling me. Whoever got in, the results were the same: work, scrounge up savings, and age. The half baked policies, gaslighting from everyone, the celebrity glazing. I'm just...tired and numb to it.
@@JamesTheTurnbullthat might be true ,but it's always worse under one than the other. And in this case the power is innthe hands of those who the economy always does worst under so. Those poor people that voted for trump, and people like u who didn't vote , if he makes the economy worse understand u not participating played a part.Like even if u think they both are the same u could actually get poorer under the trump administration.
@@matiqueedwards2269 I'd rather not play on what if's. And that's the gaslighting I'm talking about. I could have been poorer with her too. Taxes and APR rates are atrocious no matter who you choose.
god bless your optimism sir, we all need a little more of that
This is a fantastic video! The actions described here are exactly what we need, and the mindset is perfect! Take time to grieve, keep your neighbours close, keep yourself safe. I'm from Australia so I can't help directly but I believe in you all. Anything that happens over there ripples over here, we're all in this together.
now more than, being in constant state of learning is needed. all of us have to do what we can. I will not be feared into being complicit. and I will see another highly qualified and deserving woman in high positions!
Herby, I love you and I appreciate your working to keep us motivated!
Organizing because not only are we stronger together, but demonstrates that we have more in common and more to gain together.
I love how you communicate. It’s giving leadership. I’m grateful for people like you in this world!!❤ keep doing what you’re doing! ✊🏾
Ppl that are critical of Kamala or making fun of her for losing need to remember that she entered the race with 2 MAJOR disadvantages: *(1)* an abysmal approval rating & polling which showed Biden likely to lose to Trump, and *(2)* having only 3 months to campaign to a country of ppl whom most felt like they barely saw or knew her. Either way, I'm proud of our VP, she ran an amazing race and I look forward to seeing what she does in the years to come.
Dark, sad day in America.
And we must do what can when we can and how we can to make it as bright as we can. I have lost all faith in America and its institutions, but I will not lose the urge the utter desire to at least try. I know this may seem naive. But damnit I must believe. I must believe so that I may try. To believe so that I may at least be able to say that I tried is worth it to me.
that why we must continue the fight for our freedom and the future for our children.
Needed this. We all need to keep educating ourselves. Herby you’re my fav 💙
also let me note, the "im voting third party" to try and stick it dems girlies are VERY quiet
Real quiet 😂
As if that would have any effect over anything besides enriching Jill Stein's pockets. They know it and now will probably never really admit to the fact they were a big part of problem.
ooop
They'll be even more quiet when the Dems move towards the right and not the left like they want.
Because their votes literally would have made zero difference
Just found this channel, and having gone from the emotion of registering it as it happened, then waking up full of anger, ending the day processing that i cried at work over it; this made me feel a sense of hope
Thank you, Herby. Your voice and energy and honesty and research is a treasure. Thank you for the emotional, intellectual, and mental labor this video took to make.
This was so beautifully said, thank you❤❤❤
as a black woman, i needed this today❤. proud new subscriber 😊
love u herby
love you back 💜
I feel that one other thing that needs to be brought up more is that his numbers didn’t actually gain or increase any more votes than last time. It just seems that not enough people actually voted for Kamala.
This is my favorite corner of the Internet, I swear. I was waiting for your take as I knew it would be a restorative one because there's so much doom and gloom surrounding this election and rightfully so.
However, if we recede in grief or infight with our POC/queer folks who voted for Trump, we get NOWHERE.
Community was necessary then and it's vital now. We WILL get through this. Thank you, Herby, and I love ya back! ❤
The only doom and gloom I see is when I look into kamalas Harris eyes
This is the sort of hope and determination we, (or at least I), very much so needed to hear to motivate us to get up and start getting involved from the ground level up. We need to position ourselves to defend, to the best of our abilities, the rights they’re going to try to strip away from us, and also prepare the strategies for how we’ll reinstate and advance the ones we lose once he’s out of office.
Thank you so much for this - i really needed somebody to talk reason and give strength
Sis, we are judging... With that being said, I appreciate your take on the matter. As an adult, it's your responsibility to educate yourself. Donald knows his base is uneducated & hateful, and he used that AGAINST them.
Okay imma just say this kamala is both black and indian can we just stop ignoring half her race? Like wth
thank you so much for giving me hope for the time being. i hope you stay safe during these next few years
I really needed this today, so thank you - from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Thank you so much for this, boo
Thank you for this video, I also want to hold space for you to experience any vulnerability you have. I'm not giving up on us at all, this is very tiring but I can't give up on what keeps us alive and that is being together through it all
Thank you for this video it actually helped me feel a bit better. ❤
this was much needed omg thank you. so refreshing
Thank you for this much needed reminder Herby, love you too too bad ❤
I love your take on this!! You really made me feel like nervous about this next 4 years & really encourage me to try to find solutions instead of problems. This is my first time running across your channel & now you have a subscriber thank you for this message❤
thank you for using your voice to add hope in the world. I appreciate it. how we live our lives and advocating for each other now will make the difference. ♡
thank you for making this video. this is just the beginning of something big. we ARE NOT GOING BACK💙
Excellent commentary. 💯💯💯🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Nah I'm getting up out of here. Tired of fighting. You young people got it ✌🏾
