This looks so cool For anyone wondering how achieve the same thing in 3D with Blender instead of Cinema 4D here's how you do it 1. Make your geometry with simple shapes, sub-divide it enough times to get a dense mesh. 2. Create a looping noise texture in AE and export that as image sequence. 3. Apply displacement modifier to your mesh inside Blender, and click on the texture tab of displacement modifier. 4. That will allow you to select your image sequence and import. Set color space to "non color data" and check "cyclic and auto refresh" and you're done. How to make looping noise texture inside Ae 1. Make a new comp, preferably a squre resoultion 2. Make a new Solid layer > set color to BLACK 3. Add a fractal noise effect on top 4. Set up its looks as u want, scale it up to 360 5. Click on "Evolution" and set it to 3 to animate it from start to finish 6. To loop the animation, click on cycle evolution under options and you're done! This method can be used to fake cloth simulations as well. Cheers 🍻
@@OlofStorm I'm sure one can do the whole thing inside Blender without having to use a 3rd party app, actually you could use a cloud texture to simulate noise but this is how I do it personally

A lot of effort you're putting into making the animations, and editing and animating the UA-cam video to make it interesting. Appreciate it. Subscribed.
You add a lot of value and inspiration with your videos. I love how you incorporate different applications, C4D, PS, AE, in your work, and you keep applying all of it to the 2D hand drawn style. In a world where everyone is talking about AI, it is really refreshing to see you work, by hand, to create your art. Thanks again for your videos.
Thanks Dan! That is very nice of you to say! For me the most value in art comes from the process of making things, so watching other artist work is to me more interesting than viewing final pieces. Stoked that you enjoyed the video!
This was such a nice video to watch as always Olof. I especially love your editing style as well. During my summer break from school. I plan on aiming to get better with 2D digital drawing and 3D environments as well.
I like this one alot. It reminds me of a little shot I was working on which I did not finish, I have my dude standing in front of some cars as he swings is sword to rest on in shoulder an explosion behind him goes off. The idea was move the cars in sequence to the after effect but I did not get around to it. I may adopt that shot one day into my work later on down the road but not sure yet. I really liked your underlay overlap with the text that shoved you off your chair. That was a very good trick
i dont comment very often but since you were one of a few people who have inspired me a lot to animate from the beginning, especially frame by frame, your videos are extremely informative and useful, so i would you hope you could increase the volume of your voice a bit more. it's not too quiet, i can still hear it just fine if i plug in my earphones, but in speaker, it's a bit quiet, even compared to majority of other videos on youtube. this is nothing too significant, i just thought that since im gonna be watching your videos for a very long time, it would make it more enjoying than it already is. ps: everytime i watch your work, it always make me want to pick up my pen and start working, your animations and paintings always look so amazing
are the layers converted into frames from photoshop using the animation feature? have always loved frame drawn just cant find a perfect program that maintains pixel rough as that my style definer.any suggestions?
Hej Olof! First of all, really nice animations you make. And good tutorials with lots of tips and tricks to slurp up. I see you animate on a tablet at a desk. Myself I animate on a mobile tablet. In a sofa, in the train or under a bridge like a troll. The USP of that is that I can change my posture every five minutes so I dont get stale. But how is it with your workstation. Do you get shoulder, neck or back pains after an hour?
Hey! Thanks a lot! What I like with the desk setup is that I am not looking down on my Wacom but towards it, which saves my neck. But I try to take small breaks often. Working out and stretching also helps. But as you say, I am very bound to my desk. (But I like it). :)
Loving this tuts already bro. However, It’s great to be here after such a long time….I need help pls, I’m trying to create a moving background animation that has a street with buildings in front-view that loops….you know when someone is running forward and the background is moving at opposite direction in perspective. How can I animate such pls? Any pointers or tuts will be really appreciated, Thanks in advance!
Wow. Great video to pull these apps together in one work flow. Could Adobe Illustrator or Procreate be used in place of photoshop? Any puts/takes if so? assuming this could also be done in Grease pencil?
So not true. You can use a very affordable drawing tablet and do this. For the longest time I did not use a graphics tablet and were totally fine with that.
The production value of this tutorial is absolutely insane!
Thanks!!
The shading and color palette are amazing!
Thanks a lot!
easily one of the most underrated creators! love your work :D
