Problem: When I click on an mp4 file from my Ace Pro, it will play the sound, but the video doesn't play. It shows a still shot. If I move along the timeline, I will see a still from that spot. I'm shooting 4k 30fps. VLC plays the videos. I haven't had this happen with any other camera. If I import the file into Studio and then export it, it will play fine, but that's a lengthy process. What am I missing? And I'm using the recommended MicroSD card.
I’m really considering this camera for several reasons. I’m working on building my UA-cam channel and this camera has the versatility where I can use it in many different filming scenarios. If I’m standing in front of the camera demonstrating something, or filming while walking, to riding a motorcycle. The camera is wearable with a chest or head strap which I’ve done with a GoPro. Right now I’m using a Canon Vixia HF R800 camcorder and I want to upgrade. At the price point of the Insta360 I think it’s a smart choice that will meet my needs until I can afford to add something like a Sony Alpha ZV-E10, but the insta 360 would still be used when the Sony would just be too big.
Thanks for the input and feedback! I think all of the reasons you mentioned are very valid. And, like you said, there is always a need for a smaller, more portable and durable camera like the Ace Pro, even if you also use a larger mirrorless. Thanks and. have a great one!
Just be aware the minimum focus distance is quite a bit longer than the stated 40cm. It is a great camera, but not good for close ups, well not unless you use some lens adapters.
@@TechyOldManalthough this is true, ive measure about 50-60cm on mine. But in all honesty i wouldnt worry too much about this, because even if you place the subject at or below the 60cm, what happens is that the image goes "soft". Yes the subject will be slightly blurry, but it isnt nearly as bad as it sounds
@@TechyOldManhey i was wondering if its possible to shoot portrait mode with 360. I mostly do miniature photography,so i was wondering if it could focus on and object and blur its background..

I switched from gopro a couple years ago and have an x2 and One RS... other than wishing this used the same batteries as the One RS it seems like a good add (especially because it'll pair to my cardo and sena headsets for voice capture simplifying my post workflow while on the road).

Will be used for Motorcycling videos but would like to try all aspects of what these cameras can do. Consdered Insta 360 X3, One RS Twin Edition, 360 Go 3 and Osmo Action 3 - Like the content you do and very informative, but would appreciate some advice.
I have the Ace Pro. In terms of the lens cover, you can see that there is a slight gap like the GoPro. I would think the lens cover is removable although, I don't want to actually risk it😂. It does look like there are aftermarket covers with a tool to remove the lens cover. I did place a thin lens protector that I got off of Amazon on the lens, and I can't tell the difference in picture quality with our without the protector

Thanks for a great, concise video. I am loving my AcePro and having lots of fun with the unique features. One question: using the jpeg + raw settings for photos, the jpeg version comes out great, but the raw photos are extremely dark, almost black - even for daytime shots. Do you know why this would be? RAW photos are higher resolution and meant to be edited in a photo editing software like Adobe Lightroom. It's not meant to be used straight out of the camera. That's what the JPEG is for. So if you're not going to use the RAW files, you can save yourself a whole bunch of memory and just shoot JPEG. Full disclosure: I am currently researching the ACE pro so I'm not sure if you can save only JPEG but usually that's how it is on most cameras.
@@Cameraflyer-The horizon lock is available on the Ace Pro, but it needs to be in Free Frame mode and then processed with the app. Annoying yes, but I do like the flexibility of recording in Free Frame mode so that I have the option to change the modes later

So sorry you have to update your information on the Insta360 Ace Pro , the lens cover are removable !!!!!!

that AI warp thing is pretty cool., as are gesture control and cancel/delete recording.
There are aftermarket replacements available that come with a tool to remove the lens cover.

I still have a Hero 3+, and it works surprisingly well - audio and video. I got a cheap plastic skeleton case for it, so it picks up sound.

I bought it and I'm extremely disappointed in the limitations of the features.

@@JordanHetrick Clarity zoom, taking photos while recording. You can't do 360 horizon leveling in any mode in the camera like you can with a GoPro.
