    Husqvarna left a bad taste in my mouth. Buddy of mine got one and I liked it. I decided to upgrade to the one he got. We both bought them at a Lowes. Few months later his pull rope assembly broke and came all to pieces. He contacted the company, and they sent him to a local dealer. Dealer refused to warranty repair it because "he didn't sell it". I guess the store didn't like that it was gotten from a big box store and not him. So, my buddy called the company back and explained it and asked for the part to be sent to him. They refused. It had to go through the dealer and the dealer wouldn't service him. Few months after that mine had the coil go bad. Exact same story. The next nearest dealer was hours away. The coil was nearly 2/3 the cost of the trimmer. So, I threw it away and got an echo srm-225 and I can't seem to wear that thing out.

      I got treated in a similar manner on a used stihl chainsaw I brought to my local stihl dealer. To me, they were only concerned about the equipment they originally sold and for businesses that use them through a contract. I received horrible customer service. The company might be a good company but there local dealers definitely have much room for improvement.

    For two bucks and a bit of time, to end up with a good working/running trimmer was well worth it. Seriously considering selling my curved shaft trimmer and replacing it with a straight shaft trimmer.

    Great video, I have that exact trimmer that I got new at Lowes several years ago, the fuel filter in the tank fell off the fuel line so the screen in the carb got plugged up on mine. Cleaned the screen and it's been running great ever since.

    Good video. I found that mixingy own fuel wit 88 octane gas helped the degradation of the fuel lines. I admit, I didn?'t empty the has tank for winter. I now use the Husqvarna canned 95 octane fuel. I empty the fuel tank when not using for more than a week. Once
    I replaced all the parts, the trimner works great. Great machine.

    I hate doing recoils and dealing with those springs. I have done it enough now that I normally get it on the first try, but when I was first starting I had quite a few jump-scares. Lets just say those springs are also quite sharp on some things and can slice into your hand quite easily.

    Hi, i have a YardKing 4 stroke with 2 valves BUT have a reed at bottom of crankcase? where it joins the sump. Reed direction is downwards to release pressure from crankcase into sump?
    Its a 24cc but it has a oil pressure system as no swishes, just a oil pick up hose in sump. It has a breather nipple on side straight through to bore about half way down and pumps air outwards as piston goes up and down. so what is reed for? Is it to release over pressure if breather becomes blocked?. I guessing the sump gasses would go up side through a special channel to rockers cover and out that hose there that normally draws air in? The sump is other side sealed so gasses let down into has to go somewhere?

    • @HomeGaragechannel
      @HomeGaragechannel  Місяць тому

      because it's a 4 stroke, the reed is part of the emission control system

    I actually have the exact same weed eater, I waited so long for the new diaphragm to come in the mail and when I was just getting started the starter pawl bridge stripped the threads connecting it to the crankshaft so now it just spins without moving the engine.
    I really have no idea how I'm going to fix this because I can't find the part.😭

  • @Ethan_the_Railfan
    @Ethan_the_Railfan 2 місяці тому

    Hey man, I recently got a new Husqvarna weed eater (curve shaft) and I was wondering, I’ve seen some videos of the trimmers you fix, the string on the head smacks the guard sometimes and I just wanted to know if it was ok if this happens. Or if it only hits the guard while slowing down (like in the video)

    • @HomeGaragechannel
      @HomeGaragechannel  2 місяці тому +1

      so this is not okay, it means you need to replace the trimmer line, with a new one. Besides, it'll mean you won't be able to keep a good straight line when trimming with it. I did end up replacing the line later on, before I gave it back to them.

      @HomeGaragechannel  2 місяці тому +1

      what part of the shaft are you asking about? The upper parts just slips into the housing and uses a single bolt to hold it and the other end depends on if you have a curved or straight shaft.

Can get the machine to run at all on idle only 1/2 choke? I’ll shorten fuel lines as they are maybe 3/4 inch long and give it another go. Is that small reducer on the return necessary.
