JZK Dr. Haifaa for this straightforward, unapologetic explanation of utter incompatibility of so-called secular/Islamic feminism with the real Message of the Quran.
Amazing interview with Dr. Haifaa Jawad. This interview could have easily been over 2 hours. I love how she goes straight to the point and makes such powerful points.
May Allah bless both of you for this great discussion. This is very relevant to modern day hypocrisy of the west. We Muslim ladies are already liberated by Islam long ago Alhamdulillah...👏👏👏
Are men competing also with other women when picking correct stock to buy already today? When you understand being more fitted or educated is achievement and something you can control. Its not random and in west women are not thought to be that logical and have trouble being approved into senior jobs. Similar to what you will have to deal with, as its not prejudice of men its also some females themselves having weird ideas of being worthless or think they are just different etc.
Glad you held yourself back from saying "You're most welcome SIR!" But equally was anticipating "You're most welcome Madam!" :D Allaah grant you barakah in your life and work, JazaakAllaahu Khairan
I can appreciate and accept that Islamic approach to women and feminism in the secular sense are different and do not have the same aims. However, I think that more importantly, we need to understand why some women subscribe to W. Feminism in the first place. It is because the basic rights that Muslim women are owed are either not being administered properly by men or even flat out denied. We have "cultural Islam" as a I call it that will pervade Muslim spaces more that true Islam itself, which on the contrary grants women a plethora of rights. Islam most certainly allows cultural practices, but not those that contradict Islam. This is why we have these issues. More sinisterly, it is very sad when some men try to disguise ill-treatment of women as Islam, instead of addressing the root issue. This does not help either. I would hope that we can put as much energy in righting the wrongs that Muslim women across the globe experience as we do in trying to distinguish between Islam and feminism. It is a necessary exercise, but only part of solving the problem.
Hypocrite whaman deserve such treatment and don't deserve any rights they deserve to be disciplined strictly for their hypocrisy and zaniya type behaviour so other modern wahman can behave properly and remain in their boundaries we need to take strict measures for these Hypocrite wahman and harami Indulging modern wahman
Fair point and I would say that's the root of the problem. You can't keep preaching that Islam values women greatly in country (any that comes up to your mind) where said women are treated badly or not getting their rights even though said rights are guaranteed by the religion. It's literally not practicing what you preach, thus people ,specifically women, will grow disillusioned or alienated.
I have watched a debate about how some people glorified Mother Khadijah ra as entrepreneur and Mother Aisyah ra as woman warrior. Yet when the other side warned that these facts don't merely mean feminism, these people got ballistic. Although they were warned that these two great women were based muslimahs for being obedient to husband and devoted to their family, those people still argued that they were feminists instead 😑
I am curious. Was Khadija actually working outside the home or did she just OWN a business and people were working for her. I am a stay at home mom btw. thanx salam

Jazakallahu khayran for this wonderful lecture!!! I will say it over and over again Br. Paul, your channel is a goldmine of knowledge! We would really love to have you on our channel for an interview one day as well!
MashAllah-very informative. (Hamza r.a. speaking): ‘I was reluctant to leave the religion of my fathers and experienced many sleepless nights, as theirs was the established way of life. I was fearful of venturing into the new system of thought and indeed living. I regularlyvisited the Kabba to perform tawaaf, often at nighttime to avoid distractions. From the depths of my heart, I implored Allah to grant me guidance, to remove all niggling doubts from my mind. Depriving myself from sleep, was brutally effective in training my soul to ponder on the wonders of the One True God. Believe me, fatigue and tiredness eliminate distractions from the noise and whispers of one’s usually overactive mind. Day by day, Almighty God increased my iman, faith as I disciplined myself to transcend fatigue. Following the daily struggle (Jehad) of providing for my family, I continued the worship of ta-hujj-aad, nightprayer. Performed deep into the night, while the rest of Makka slept, as a rare gift. A form of privilege without pride. I could feel transcendental peace descend upon me and my heart became filled with courage and certainty. I had initially declared my allegiance to Islam in a state of anger and frustration, in response to Abu Jahl’s mistreatment of my nephew. However, after a period of serious contemplation, questioning and consideration Iwent to meet the Messenger of Allah-pbuh. I grasped his hands and sincerely declared my complete and absolute submission to the will of Almighty God. With each word of the Shahaada repeated in his presence, it felt as if I was physically feeding my malnourished soul with manna from heaven. The Prophet-pbuh informed me that all my past sins had been forgiven. As if I was born again and that I must continue to live as a humble servant, without ego or arrogance. I was overcome by the occasion and almost wept, when he said that Almighty God loves the Believer as much as a mother loves her child. Nothing happens without the Will of Almighty God: Respect (and humiliation), rizk (worldly success or failure) and death (time and place) are all pre-determined and not under the control of man. He embraced me and prayed to Allah to strengthen my heart. To solidify my iman and to harden my resolve against the expected onslaught from the Quraysh. I walked away from the Holy Prophet-pbuh with a burgeoning faith and ecstatically happy. Relishing at the prospect of serving Islam. Relishing at the prospect of achieving victory in the ephemeral life of this world or entering paradise through good deeds or martyrdom. ‘Almighty God, You alone I worship. You alone I ask for help.’ From that moment, I knew that I would never bow before any man-made idols and would repel all forms of SHIRK, as an abomination! Especially shirk arising from fear of the tyrant, greed and materialism in all its forms.’’ [extract from ‘HURDLES-by Dr Khalid Bashir; ch6 pg21; available from amazon.co.uk]
I don't think Islamic Feminism is necessarily contradictory. Revelation is open to various interpretations and people interpret differently according to their intellectual, social, cultural, and psychological inclinations. For example, people with rationalistic inclinations, such as the Hanafis, deem eating crustaceans, such as shrimp, to be reprehensible considering how they are arthropods same as insects, which are prohibited. So, I see no issue finding some scholars with feministic tendencies who always opt for the interpretation that favours women whenever is possible. That does not mean they have to disregard the tradition or hadiths or twist the meaning of texts; *they only take the egalitarian path if the text allows it.* For instance, in regards to verse 4:34 which says: « _And if you sense ill-conduct from your women, advise them ˹first˺, _*_˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds,_* » most scholars said that only men have the right to the punishment of not-sharing-the-bed; however, this interpretation is not necessary, one could also say that " _if you sense ill-conduct from your _*_husbands,_*_ advise them ˹first˺, ˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds._ " Islamic Feminism may also denote the advocacy and active promotion of *women's rights that are based on revelation itself.* For example, even though God has determined the women's share of inheritance, many women in the Muslim world still do not take their rightful inheritance.
Your assertion that Islamic feminism can embrace diverse interpretations within Islamic jurisprudence overlooks all critical points. Interpretations must align with the explicit teachings and spirit of the Quran and Hadith. While flexibility exists in some areas, not every aspect of Islamic law allows for reinterpretation, especially concerning fundamental principles of gender equality. For instance, verse 4:34, which you mentioned, not only allows but mandates disciplinary actions (beating) by men against disobedient women, directly contradicting claims of gender equality. Advocating for feminist reinterpretations while sidestepping such clear mandates undermines the very principles Islamic feminism aims to promote.
Brother Paul, I was just watching Dr. Ali Altaie on the Son of Man. I wanted to use the opportunity to ask whether according to us the original Injeel had a written form before corruption and if so who the writers would or could have been as the Discipöes were illiterate. Not to disrespect this important video on feminism which I will watch after completion of Dr. Altaie. Peace be unto you.
The Quran does not talk about written injeel (gospel) but it does talk about written tablets given to Moses and Abraham. The most likely scenario is that Prophet Jesus conveyed the message he was given orally just like Prophet Muhammad did. Whatever Christians call new testament is written atleast 50 yrs after Jesus death and some well into the 2nd century. The disciples of Jesus were unsophisticated peasants and labourers. They spoke mainly Aramaic language. The native language of Jesus. They knew nothing of Greek language and Philosophy. Whatever Paul and the scribes wrote was contrived by them and had little to do with Jesus teaching.
Thank you so much for this talk, very insightful and very much needed. I am hopeful this information would educate many muslim men and women that are unfortunately plagued and polluted by this cancerous ideology.
I'm 57 and I live in Catalonia. I see a situation developing here among young adults where men never learned to cook and don't want to, and women don't want to cook, because that's what women have always traditionally done and they're not going to cook for their husband, and neither of them really have got time to cook anyway because they've got more important things to do (like go to a yoga class or watch Barça play their latest football match), and I see big problems ahead.
you know in my language there's an idiom which translates to "The way to a man's heart goes through his stomach". I feel bad for the love lives of such women who refuse to prepare meal for their husbands.
@@retrogamingfrenzy2373 cooking can be fun. So can sweeping and mopping the floor. If fun mean constant diversion and distraction, then it strikes me as an unhealthy, mindless and superficial way to lead one's life. And unfortunately, that's how life increasingly looks in Europe.

The compatibility between Islam and feminism remains a complex and debated topic. The incompatibility arises from their differing foundations and approaches. Western feminist discourses often overlook the spiritual significance of Islam and essentialize the identities of Muslim women. Critiquing these approaches is essential to challenge distorted narratives and understand the nuances of Islam's perspective on gender issues. Islamic feminism, with its focus on reconciling Islamic teachings with gender equality, offers an alternative approach that resonates with many Muslim women seeking change while maintaining their Islamic identities.
We are there to complete each other not to compete with each other. Responsibility is coupled with Authority, those who got more responsibilities got more authority over the matter. The one who earns, has more authority to decide on what its being spent on, and to know why its being spent. Obedience may sound like a harsh term, but if we look throughout the world, we have been obeying the government, the institutions, the sects, etc. Because all these factions hold authority, and they hold responsibilities too. Its better not to rebel and cherry pick what suits us, rather follow the system as a whole. The choice is yours. If you prefer Feminism, accept it as a whole. If you prefer Traditionalism, accept it as a whole. Feminism as a whole splits all the roles, the Husband will cook, clean and care for the kids along with the wife. Meanwhile the wife will also share all the expenses with the husband. If you prefer this kind of life, go ahead, its upto you to choose. You shall get the same authority as hour husband because you're splitting his responsibilities too. Traditionalism as a whole doesn't split responsibilities, it only assigns responsibilities and authority. The Husband shall only take care of the finances and foresight, meanwhile the wife shall cook, clean and care. The authority remains unsplit, cuz the responsibilities are unsplit.
Paul, I don’t know where this view that the Majority of Converts are women comes from. It was never my experience of the da’wah in the UK that this was the case. And we see in Speakers Corner every week, they are men accepting Islām left, right and centre. You can see that on the ground, but the same for women just isn’t true. Same for convo’s in Leicester Square. And the YT conversations and podcasts, all I see are dudes, whom it seems, the rational proofs and evidences appeal to. I’m just not seeing this ‘Majority of converts are women’ in the real-world. What do you think? What’s your experience ?
Assalamu Alaikum, JazakAllahu Khayran for a really informative discussion... is it possible to have a discussion with Dr. Jawad on the status/ position/ rights of women according to Qur'an and Sunnah?
Asalaam aleikum bro Williams, may Allah reward you abundantly for your work, i just wanted to bring it to your attention about an incident that happened in malindi kenya of a christian priest who convinced his followers to observe fasting without break until they die so that they may finally meet Jesus Christ (pbuh) If you find time you could reach out to bro Ahmed mazrui who is an advocate in mombasa insha'Allah!
Honestly Paul, growing up in the nineties, i always thought about fighting for women's rights within the context of Islam. It was fighting for my Islamic rights. And also knowing that i had my Islamic responsibilities that go along with them. My right to choose my husband went along with my responsibility to behave properly and to choose wisely. My right to an education went along with my responsibilty to choose a halaal path, my right to work went along with my obligation and duty towards my family. And my family takes precedence over my work. Because work is my desire, but my family is my blessing and my responsibility. The feminism of today is not something i recognise or want. But i also have a right to a husband who follows his dīn, and takes care of me and his children kindly. And i have a responsiblity to take care of him and our children kindly. So many people talk about rights without the context of responsibility. Without responsibilty, rights are just taking you away from siraatal mustaqim. Edit: and I myself never had my Islamic rights trampled upon. But I did see it happen to others when cultural practices or desires took precedence over Islamic law.
Not islamic scholar what is education that is halaal? Means you dont learn math or basic sciences and is afraid to see biology pictures? I am just curious, please provide what you cant be besides not being doctor, nurse, journalist, taxi driver etc (in west, as we dont segregate)
@kiq654 a path that is halaal, friend. Means not using my education for haraam. Not working in an industry that would take me away from Allah. If I studied Accounts, I wouldn't work for a company that produced alcohol. If I did labour relations, I wouldn't work for a company that promoted exploitation, etc.
The goal of f'em'i'n'is'm is to destroy the nuclear family and to spread lesb'ia'ni's'm amongst wmn. They seek rights that Allah(SWT) has not given wmn and they strive to take away rights that Allah(SWT) has given men.

I’m a woman. I’m here to make the argument that Islam IS true feminism. Treating women fairly. Not being abusive towards them. Respecting, honoring, and protecting them. Giving them the freedom to BE women. To be mothers. To be housewives. Because in my culture, men hated me for wanting these things. Now if anyone wishes to call out and attack MODERN western “feminism”, I would 100% support any of you on that. I’m a woman. Wanted to be a housewife since I can remember. I was beaten for that. Told to work and pay bills. Told to do EVERYTHING on my own. While our public schools have mass shootings and deaths of children. While the children are being brainwashed by the lgbt agendas. I wanted to stay home and raise kids to protect them from that. But in America, I’m called a bad woman for wanting that. How can I raise kids if I’m not free to do it because our men want me working 16 hours a week pouring steel at the foundry? I’m 43. I want a family. I want to convert to Islam. But I’m afraid I’m too old for a good man to want. I was raised Christian and I never believed in the trinity. I didn’t like how Christianity became against family values. The men are against marriage. They no longer want children. The manosphere stuff is every bit as destructive as the feminism stuff. America is without moral compass. I’m afraid I will die alone. I was not created to be alone. Neither was man. I want to warn Muslims that the manosphere is Marxism for men. Feminism is Maoism for women. Don’t fall for any of it. Follow Allah. 💕
Great post. The manosphere and feminism are reactionary movements that were inevitable due to the imbalances in relationships and in society. I see how men in the manosphere can embrace Islam because it supports man’s traditional position and role (Andrew Tate for example). Unfortunately the same cannot be said about women and feminism because feminists glorify a male role for women. It is difficult from that mindset to then embrace a woman’s traditional role. That being said, I was once a staunch “feminist” and Allah guided me Alhamdulillah.
@@sarahschwarz9972 by the way, I am so glad that you got out of the lie of modern feminism💕🙏 society is in a mess. Especially western nations. I wish I could get married and raise a family. Trust me, I would not want to have to continue pouring steel 16 hour shifts until I’m 90. Lol. I only worked those “man jobs” because they pay the bills. I had no choice. My culture is sadly anti family and has zero morals and that’s why I want to convert to Islam. I want to live for Allah, not the corporation that is becoming our new sick government. I want to be a housewife and always have wanted that because I don’t want the state or the commie public schools brainwashing kids. May Allah bless you🙏💕

I really like a quote from zeeshan (Smile2jannah) : "Allah didn't create Men and women to compete with each other, Allah created us to complete each other"
Feminism is a movement of equality when in patriarchal society. Al-Islam has been reducted in Islam when it was first created by the Umayyads and established by the Abbasids. Here Al-Islam being reducted and Islam developed in patriarchal society. But Al-Islam remains in places e.g Nusantara where first Muslims migrated there surviving Al-Islam. It is because ImperialConsensus kind of Islam dominated Nusantara after the rise of you European colonials and Ottoman. In Indonesia, the feminism is actually to restore our matriarchal societies, as we were not originally patriarchal, we preserve bilateral, bilineal, matrilineal, matrilocal societies. This actually had been voiced out by my great grandaunt Kartini which was exploited her voice by the Dutch. The Western peoples always amazed when they came at first how Javanese women lived, e.g in Mangkunegaran and Mataram palaces, the domination in household also among Madurese women. But you know the other Muslim nations/tribes may also underrate these cultures in Indonesia 😅
Is Feminism Compatible With Islam? Can One Be A Feminist Muslim? Short Answer: No But But There Are Many Kinds Of Feminism & Our Islamic Feminism Is Inline With Islam If you say, "It depends how you define feminism," I would invite you to be precise. It doesn't depend on how you define feminism; it depends on how it is defined. It's a subtle but critical distinction. You can make up whatever definition you want, but that doesn't actually mean anything. If I want, I can define a human being as any creature with wings. That doesn't mean it's true or faithful to the meaning. So, more precise than, "It depends how you define feminism," would be to say, "It depends how feminism is defined." And with that said, I invite you to present any accepted definition of feminism, and then we can see how aligned it actually is with what the Prophet, ﷺ, has brought. Feminism is as varied, as the number of its adherents, because it is not fixed like Islam. If you say everyone can define feminism according to their wish then Feminism loose All its meaning, as it can also hold contradictory definition. However, the popular and authoritative literature on feminism, across all waves, are diametrically opposed to Islam. This isn't a surprise because anything with non-Islamic origins can never come around to be Islamic, ever. As for maintaining that your version of feminism is just in line with the sunnah, then you admit that Islam is the only viable tool to address any & all types of problems humanity faces at large. That makes the use of the feminist label completely useless, unless you're arguing that there's a real need for the label and the movement on top of what Islam provides to address issues of women. There's no way out of it. Either admit that Islam lacks and feminism fills in the gap in it, or just chuck away the feminist label altogether because Islam is enough anyway, because feminism is a kufri creation with its most prominent manifestations rife with kufri practices and beliefs in the name of equity. Feminism is defined, By the civilization who coined it, who currently still write about it and use it, and of which will always be understood in relation To. "Islam and feminism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes women's rights!" Ok, should we say that Islam and communism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes the rights of the poor? Should we say that Islam and atheism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes that false gods do not exist? Should we say that Islam and fascism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes the singular authority of one man, i.e., the Prophet ﷺ? Should we say that Islam and Zionism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes that the holy land exists? Should we say that Islam and Christianity go hand in hand because Islam recognizes that Jesus is the Messiah? Should we say that Islam and Buddhism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes the importance of inner peace? Should we say that Islam and perennialism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes that the Torah and Bible were sent by God? Should we say that Islam and Confucianism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes the importance of respect for parents? Should we say that Islam and animistic nature worship go hand in hand because Islam recognizes that within nature are signs of the Creator? _______ In all these examples, no serious Muslim would attach Islam to such ideologies. But in the case of feminism, you find many seemingly "traditional" figures and organizations enthusiastically co-opting feminism and claiming that it is fully "Islamic," even "traditional," etc. If commonality between Islam and feminism means one can adopt the feminist label, does that mean one can call oneself a Muslim-Christian too? MUSLIMAH FEMINIST "Being a Muslima is by definition being a feminist..." Being Muslim is by definition acknowledging the divine rights of women. But feminism, which is born out of kufr, has fabricated rights, fabricated responsibilities, fabricated virtues, fabricated vices. So no, being a Muslimah is not by definition being a feminist. Rather, being a Muslimah, being a Muslim, is being a slave. It is acknowledging our Slavehood and submitting to Allah's definitions of rights, responsibilities, virtues, vices - as presented to us via his messenger, ﷺ. In some instances, the society in which we live will happen to align with those divine definitions. In many instances, particularly when it is a non-Muslim society, those definitions, those views, will not align. In the case of feminism, just look at some of the foundational values of feminism: if you are intellectually honest, you will find they contradict what the Prophet, ﷺ, brought "Islamic Feminism Is About Human Rights" As for "deserving of human rights," the assumption underlying that expression is one of the fundamental issues here: who defines "rights?" Disbelief does not define rights the same as does Allah. In fact, there are so many things that are considered "rights" in our times that are Outrightly contrary to what Allah and his messenger, ﷺ, have made crystal clear. (That issue is not at all specific to women.) If you want to get as foundational as can be, our society would consider it a right to reject Allah and his messenger, ﷺ, and it is the furthest thing from a right. It is criminal. It is the biggest crime a human can commit. "Its Inhuman, Its Humanitarian" What is Human, Humanity & Its Right? Allah, The Creator Of Human & Everything Decides That, Allah Decides What Rights & Responsibilities Given To Whom. But But Muslim Men Don't Give Us Our Islamic Rights, That's Why We Need Feminism... Many Muslim Feminist Say They Need Feminism coz Muslim Men don't give them their Islamic Rights, But This is Deception & Delusion Of Muslim Feminist. If Muslim Men Don't Give Them Their "Rights" Under Islam Why Would They Gave you Under The Ideology Of Western White Men? Why Is It Always Women That Call For Islamic Feminism Are Those Women That Were submerged In Liberal Environment For Many Years whether in education or other Places? Truth is Its About Worldview, Deen. She Internalized Deen Other Than Islam. And "muslim" Feminist "scholars" Admitted It. One Of The Main Figure Of Muslim Feminist's Scholar AMINA WADUD Said, "for explicit verses of the Qur’ān for which feminists cannot find alternative explanations, the possibility of rejecting these verses should be considered. She states “Personally, I have come to places where how the text says what it says is just plain inadequate or unacceptable, however much interpretation is enacted upon it”, and she says further, that where particular articulations in the Qur’ān as a text are problematic, there is the “possibility of refuting the text, to talk back, to even say “no”” Wadud talked about the frustrations that feminists feel when, as Wadud suggests, they have to pretend to advocate feminism from an Islamic perspective and not a secular liberal one. She writes, “The executive director of Sisters in Islam, Zainah Anwar, once asked, “Why can’t we say we are working for gender justice from a human rights perspective” instead of our earlier claim of working from a gender-inclusive Islamic perspective? Quite honestly, I understand the frustrations”. In other words, these feminists are not acting as interpreters, or even re-interpreters, but as secular liberal interpolators. Wadud and Asma Lamrabet argue that the Islamic injunction for a wife to obey her husband (in what is permitted under the sharī’ah, or halāl) contradicts the oneness of God, as they claim that obedience is for God alone. If obedience to the husband constitutes idolatry then, according to such feminists, a boy obeying his mother would also be idolatry, being a law abiding citizen would be idolatry, and a Muslim obeying the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), which the Qur’ān explicitly commands, would also be idolatry. Muslim Feminist Have Adopted Liberalism As Their Deen, Rights, Responsibilities, Good, Bad, They Get It From Liberalism & Then They Distort Islam Under The Name Of "Interpretation" To Fit It With Their Deeen. They deny Quranic Verse, Hadith, Ijma that they Don't like, That goes Against Feminism.
Out of around 6350 verses of Quran , very few declares discrimination between woman & man # nevertheless Ahadith does clearly declare rights of women & in many areas such as politics & political leadership restricts women's rights #

To be honest, It's a loose term that could mean a variety of different things and goes to varying extents. To some feminism is just protecting women in basic forms, where as to others it’s a total anti-men social movement.

Islam does not prevent women from going to the mosques but you can clearly see from hadith how this is not favoured for the woman and that if she does, then there are rules and regulations to abide by in order to do that and even then the reward for that is still less than that of praying at home which has immense rewards. Having a profession or a "career" is a modern day construct. Just because something is permissable, does not mean it's now favourable and encouraged at the expense of other priorities and least of all not sticking to the confines of the rules and regulations set for having to work. Sometimes it's a necessity, but it's only after you have exhausted all the means of having someone to provide for you and obviously it's case-by-case because many people face different circumstances but that doesn't mean that having a profession or a career is now the go-to strategy that many women adopt these days for the false premise and notion that many women have, whether they are aware or unaware of these feministic biases and ideologies engrained within the generations of this modern day and age, and that also applies to some men these days as you see how we have fathers that add fuel to the fire by pushing their daughters to prioritise secular education and careers over marriage and children, and also implant ideas that she needs to be ready for a rainy day in case the husband falsely gets labelled and deemed to be "evil" and "misogynistic" for following a true Islamic paradigm. Or in other scenarios, a fear of the husband passing away unexpectedly, which somehow also justifies this modern day distorted view many people have.

This is my reply to one of the comments but I want more people to see it: Tell that to the people in the Arab world these days who don't let women express their opinions even in matters concerning THEIR lives, the girl is taken out of education to get married at a very young age to a person she 99.9999% didn't agree on, isn't allowed to work so she fully depends on her husband financially which stops her from getting a divorce even if she's harshly physically abused and if she leaves he might take custody of the children. Tell that to the women who are sexually harassed/assaulted and even raped and are then blamed for wearing "provocative clothes" which are most of the time pretty normal. It's just that these "men" were raised not having to worry about harassing a woman because she will be the one to blame in the end anyway. Tell that to the girls who are traumatized from such a young age by FGM. Where is Islam in all of that? I'll tell you. These people know NOTHING about Islam and use scriptures out of context to justify their acts even though Islam is not at fault. Yes, we need to teach them the real Islam and how it respects women, but that doesn't mean we don't have to have a movement specifically focusing on women's rights. Besides, how are you going to convince people of other religions to stop oppressing women when they don't even believe in Islam?
Could u interview a professional/scholar that's well versed and not influenced by culture, talking about Islam and intimacy? Cuz YT is dry when it comes to this topic.

Women have always had an important role in education in Islam. Many of the female scholars of the salaf, including sahaba, would teach men. You will find among the teachers of the imams many female scholars. For example, Abu Musa al Ash'ari narrates about A'isha radiallahu anha: "We never had a problem occur to us, the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, but that we would ask Aisha" Umm al Darda' would teach classes in the masjid which would be attended by many male scholars such as abd al Malik ibn Marwan. Let's not go to extremes on either side.
This is sarcasm for those who couldn't detect....that's primarily what she's saying....tender to the domestic.....but some of the replies are hopeful ....it's unfortunate that people would rather have an image of Khadija as a domesticated women but completely disregard her entrepreneurial endeavours however guides/directed these may have been.....honestly it's tiring to hear that women should focus on the domestic, non obeying their husbands and tendering children only...but look at the comments below and the lecture above....for a largely uneducated Muslim population, that is the implication of this lecture, doesn't matter it's academic rigor :(

Wise, smart and knowledgeable guest ! Thank you so much to both😊
MashAllah-very informative.
(Hamza r.a. speaking):
‘I was reluctant to leave the religion of my fathers and experienced many sleepless nights, as theirs was the established way of life.
Especially shirk arising from fear of the tyrant, greed and materialism in all its forms.’’

This quote is prooooobably fake
Too much to read, consider being concise or using paragraphs/bullet points.
That does not mean they have to disregard the tradition or hadiths or twist the meaning of texts; *they only take the egalitarian path if the text allows it.*
For instance, in regards to verse 4:34 which says: « _And if you sense ill-conduct from your women, advise them ˹first˺, _*_˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds,_* » most scholars said that only men have the right to the punishment of not-sharing-the-bed; however, this interpretation is not necessary, one could also say that " _if you sense ill-conduct from your _*_husbands,_*_ advise them ˹first˺, ˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds._ " Islamic Feminism may also denote the advocacy and active promotion of *women's rights that are based on revelation itself.* For example, even though God has determined the women's share of inheritance, many women in the Muslim world still do not take their rightful inheritance.

There are many overlapping principles. But at the same time fundamental divergences

Short Answer: No
But But There Are Many Kinds Of Feminism & Our Islamic Feminism Is Inline With Islam
If you say, "It depends how you define feminism," I would invite you to be precise. So, more precise than, "It depends how you define feminism," would be to say, "It depends how feminism is defined."
And with that said, I invite you to present any accepted definition of feminism, and then we can see how aligned it actually is with what the Prophet, ﷺ, has brought.
"Islam and feminism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes women's rights!"
Ok, should we say that Islam and communism go hand in hand because Islam recognizes the rights of the poor?
_______
In all these examples, no serious Muslim would attach Islam to such ideologies.
MUSLIMAH FEMINIST
"Being a Muslima is by definition being a feminist..."
Being Muslim is by definition acknowledging the divine rights of women.
In the case of feminism, just look at some of the foundational values of feminism: if you are intellectually honest, you will find they contradict what the Prophet, ﷺ, brought
"Islamic Feminism Is About Human Rights"
As for "deserving of human rights," the assumption underlying that expression is one of the fundamental issues here: who defines "rights?" Disbelief does not define rights the same as does Allah.
"Its Inhuman, Its Humanitarian"
What is Human, Humanity & Its Right?
She states “Personally, I have come to places where how the text says what it says is just plain inadequate or unacceptable, however much interpretation is enacted upon it”, and she says further, that where particular articulations in the Qur’ān as a text are problematic, there is the “possibility of refuting the text, to talk back, to even say “no””
Wadud talked about the frustrations that feminists feel when, as Wadud suggests, they have to pretend to advocate feminism from an Islamic perspective and not a secular liberal one.

Toxic feminism? No. If its real feminism then absolutely, Islam does not forbid women to have a profession, the first University was created by a Muslim woman for example
All feminism is toxic
Define what a profession means here and what it constitutes, is the pursuit of this profession going to be prioritised over marriage? Over having children? Over nurturing and raising children? Over taking care of and managing the household?
Kindly elaborate more on this.

Feminism has many factors contributing to it's sustain existence and one of the main Factor is general distrust of the institute of Marriage and it's implication. No matter what reason they voice.
One can't force people to marry.Trust in general is restored by the community. As Muslim one can osilate within permissible means.
I agree with you on Islam emphasizing marriage and family and encouraging being balanced.
However I disagree with you in saying Father's of Daughters are Wrong in educating their daughter upon real Life Scenarios like the ones you mentioned. And no they prioritize basic degree's or a step into the next ,that's it.
First university is vague if we dont know they teached anything but basic faith crap. For example in west most first universities were for theologians. Not exactly what we consider great return on investment. There was not much to teach in 800-1000 CE. Just basic functioning writing skills you see in quran. Not exactly worthy intellectual pursuit.

Tell that to the people in the Arab world these days who don't let women express their opinions even in matters concerning THEIR lives, the girl is taken out of education to get married at a very young age to a person she 99.9999% didn't agree on, isn't allowed to work so she fully depends on her husband financially which stops her from getting a divorce even if she's harshly physically abused and if she leaves he might take custody of the children.

Women have always had an important role in education in Islam. Many of the female scholars of the salaf, including sahaba, would teach men. You will find among the teachers of the imams many female scholars.
For example, Abu Musa al Ash'ari narrates about A'isha radiallahu anha:
"We never had a problem occur to us, the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, but that we would ask Aisha"
Umm al Darda' would teach classes in the masjid which would be attended by many male scholars such as abd al Malik ibn Marwan.
