You could open a topic about the Mahdi: there is many weak hadiths talking of this. Jaan said a hadith related "it will come a time when the mahdi will conquest Constentinople", and he said that the sahabas wanted to conquested Constentinople. Just considere that the hadith could be invented later on, as many of them about this topic. Linguisticly, Mahdi is a place, a thing, a title of guidance. It's about guidance by its root, and prefix ma- is about a place or a moment. Linguistic can be a tool to debunk false myth.

I really do not see how it is not force if people are offered 3 choices 1) be killed, 2) pay some 'protection' tax, or 3) convert to Islam. Well, there were a few choices. Don't think the jizya could be very high and their own community could help each other on this . After all Muslims pay zakat too.

I never accepted the narration that the prophet left this world without a appointed successor it is not in God's methodology to do that so much work so much establishment and then just leave it. Void just never accepted this point ever.
He appointed abu bakr (peace be upon him) to lead the prayers before his death. So you can safely assume as all sahaba did that he specifically appointed abu bekr as successor. Many others hadiths clearly show without a shadow of a doubt who would become the successors of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and in what order.

You could open a topic about the Mahdi: there is many weak hadiths talking of this. Jaan said a hadith related "it will come a time when the mahdi will conquest Constentinople", and he said that the sahabas wanted to conquested Constentinople. Just considere that the hadith could be invented later on, as many of them about this topic. Linguisticly, Mahdi is a place, a thing, a title of guidance. It's about guidance by its root, and prefix ma- is about a place or a moment. Linguistic can be a tool to debunk false myth.

The Islamic Ethics , the way of life , Quran, Sirah , Hadith . All the knowledge needed for a generation of Muslims to refine their character and become a Moral and Ethical force is already there . What is missing is a generation to pick up those tools and change themselves , the rest will play out and Allah knows best.
