Believe me, I learnt ‘feminism’ in its real context (there may be several examples to prove in Al Qur’an and Sunnat) and I truly appreciate Dr Haifaa for this daawa - May Allah Su Hana’s wa ta’ala give u more barakaths in all your efforts towards the Deen - Ameen!

    I wanted to ask on the inheritance part. I know the son gets 2/3 and the daughter gets 1/3. But I think the context wasn’t explained on that part as the conversation shifted to husband and wife’s role in their marriage.

    Hearing the story of Maryam, the mother of prophet Issa now, made realize how the community back then have more empathy and were willing to listen to her justification and answer, but sadly some of ignorant uneducated Muslim society created "honor killing of girls suspected of indecency " sad😢😢 condemning and killing without trial, and the aggressors walk away.........

    I’m so glad I seen this video from an actual practicing Muslim, on tiktok a women was saying feminism is kufar and they was trying to justify it. I felt so offended cos women do a lot of stuff and still get hated. It’s good to know I can still appreciate the word feminism. Cos society makes us hate being female so much

    It's always been a blessing to heare you! But this lecture is just a paradigm shift for me. In Pakistan clergy ands every body hates the word feminism let alone the movement. How beautifully she shifted the whole narrative game here by not denying feminism at all but by embracing it and intertwining it with Faith to make it undefeatable and more powerful!
    That's why our ummah needs more woman scholars like of Sheikha Haifaa Younis.

    What is the definition of equality in the Western construct. For us to be sincere to this definition, it has to have a religious construct. The West doesn't do this Feminism is one example. Its construct sees equality as both physical, social, etc. If we accept the word feminism as Muslims, then we have to apply an Islamic definition of feminism. We cannot rely on the Western definition to be truly practicing this Deen

    • @yuckk.k
      @yuckk.k Місяць тому

      That's a different thing- if you live in a non muslim household and you're a revert, then it is likely the family will split shares the way they do it in their culture. My husbands family is not muslim & him and his sister will get equal shares since his sister is not muslim and doesn't want the islamic way and provisions from her brother.

If he does his part in accordance to Shariah then we as wives have to obey our husbands. Simple. That doesn't mean he gets to assert his authority unjustly. There are conditions for him.

    • @yuckk.k

      Obey (in terms of following, toeing the line, militarism) is امتثل "Amtathal' but Ta3a means more "complying, agreeing, abiding" which has more of a harmonious and pragmatic meaning. In the Quran the verse of obedience uses a different form of obey in Arabic.
      4:59
      It uses "atieua۟" or "wa'Atieu" which is a different form of Obeying in Faith or believe. Basically unconditional obedience. Which we only save for Allah SWT and to an extent Nabi Muhammed SAW.
