I'm close to tears with this lecture! It's always about men men men men!!! I've always known Allah is the most Just, the most kind and it's such a breath of relief to hear this from a religion point of view
Mashaa’Allah I am always in awe, the way Dr. Haifaa you explain, discuss and teach us. Alhamdullilah I was present during this talk at VRIC AND YET LISTENING TO THIS TALK FOR THE THIRD TIME. May Allah( SWT) always protect you and grant you good health, we love having you here in DALLAS. It’s a great privilege for us to just drive 50 mins and get to hear you as you. I appreciate you and respect you from my heart, traveling is not easy but you are doing all of these for the Muslim community and more.
I love what you said about how it's not 50/50 in Islam, it's whole sum. Spouses having mercy on each other and helping each other, when the other is tired, is also good.
I can understand English well but can't speak very well. That's why i am not able to express my thought. One thing i want to say about you is you are such a knowledgeable person whom i luckily find! Your words are really very helpful for us whom want to know what Allah says about men and women. May Allah bless us all with right Path. May Allah bless u mam❤️
Hearing the story of Maryam, the mother of prophet Issa now, made realize how the community back then have more empathy and were willing to listen to her justification and answer, but sadly some of ignorant uneducated Muslim society created "honor killing of girls suspected of indecency " sad😢😢 condemning and killing without trial, and the aggressors walk away.........
It was as if the real truth dawned on me when I heard this lecture. Believe me, I learnt ‘feminism’ in its real context (there may be several examples to prove in Al Qur’an and Sunnat) and I truly appreciate Dr Haifaa for this daawa - May Allah Su Hana’s wa ta’ala give u more barakaths in all your efforts towards the Deen - Ameen!

What is the definition of equality in the Western construct. For us to be sincere to this definition, it has to have a religious construct. The West doesn't do this Feminism is one example. Its construct sees equality as both physical, social, etc. If we accept the word feminism as Muslims, then we have to apply an Islamic definition of feminism. We cannot rely on the Western definition to be truly practicing this Deen
I am sorry as I am watching on youtube, please forgive my shortcomings- is that a compliment? about the hadith women can make a man do what she wants??its a compliment right?
6:50 I quote here : ''... when I go back to islam and I said, I don't need this, I don't need this movement (feminism). Islam came to me 14 hundred years ago...''. This lecture should have ended at that point.
Do u still share the shares equally if the male doesn't uphold the dutiful side of looking after the female? We live in reality over here. Ppl have different circumstances. It's not all clear cut.
That's a different thing- if you live in a non muslim household and you're a revert, then it is likely the family will split shares the way they do it in their culture. My husbands family is not muslim & him and his sister will get equal shares since his sister is not muslim and doesn't want the islamic way and provisions from her brother.

How & why this movement started??? We Muslim need to look into this because we may fall into these. Number of Muslims leaving Islam. "Instead of competing with brothers, sisters need to compete with the HUR".
What you on about. A woman competing with the hur of jannah, is like telling men to compete with the male servants of jannah. Does that make any sense. Btw the beings in jannah are not human in the same way we are.

Obey (in terms of following, toeing the line, militarism) is امتثل "Amtathal' but Ta3a means more "complying, agreeing, abiding" which has more of a harmonious and pragmatic meaning. Ta3a is obedience, we are required to obey our parents. Women are required to obey their husbands. taking care is a stretch. Is there a nuance?
And why is a woman required to obey her husband?
