Feminism is contrary to Islam in many ways..So here is another argument:
    1. One cannot be committed to Feminism without accepting the Patriarchal Thesis, i.e., the thesis that there exists a social structure perpetuated by men designed to subjugate and oppress women that has existed since the dawn of civilization.
    2. The Patriarchal Thesis is anathema to Islam.
    3. Therefore, Feminism is anathema to Islam.
Why is the Patriarchal Thesis (PT) so noxious as far as Islam is concerned?
First of all, PT undermines the very notion of nubuwwa. All anbiya were men (yes, yes, I know Ibn Hazm and a couple of other scholars said some women also received wahy, but nonetheless, the vast majority of prophets were men). Were all these anbiya part of the patriarchal structure used to dominate women?
PT also undermines the scholarly tradition. The vast majority of ulama in our tradition were men, and the most influential and prolific of them were men. And all of them, literally all of them, espoused a plethora of views that modern feminists consider toxic masculine misogynist drivel of the worst kind. Were all these men part of the patriarchal system used to oppress women?
PT undermines Islamic theology itself. If the patriarchy is this entrenched, destructive force plaguing humanity and inflicting so much pain and suffering, why doesn't the Qur'an address it? Why didn't the Prophet s address it? Can the Qur'an and Sunna be considered complete guidance when they do not call out this systematic oppression? Feminists maintain that patriarchy is among the greatest forces of evil in all human history, yet there is not even a word for it in Arabic. Not a single verse or hadith dedicated to sounding the alarm bells, warning humanity of this terrible oppression. Why?
These are the logical considerations feminists make with respect to Islam and that is why Muslim feminists go through phases of disillusion with Islam and many end up leaving. They start by throwing the scholars of our tradition under the bus for having "evil" patriarchal views of women. Then they graduate to attacking the prophets (remember Amina "deadbeat" Wadud?). Then they graduate to criticizing the Quran. Why did Allah use masculine pronouns to refer to Himself? Why did Allah create Adam, a man, first? Why did Allah reveal verse 4:34? etc.
The is the inherent theological tension created by the Patriarchal Thesis. And it leads many Muslim feminists to adopt increasingly deviant views and even apostatize.
So those who want to claim that Feminism and Islam are compatible, confront the 1-2-3 argument above. You have limited options. I'll make it easy and lay it out:
    1. You can either argue that one CAN be a feminist and NOT accept PT, i.e., the idea of ever-present patriarchy subjugating women since time immemorial.
    2. Or you can argue that PT does not undermine Islam.
    Which one is it?
Those who are fine with throwing the male-dominated scholarly tradition under the bus (the "reform," "progressive" type as well as "Quranists," et al.) will take option 2. But normal Muslims with correct aqida recognize that without the male-dominated scholarly tradition, the Quran would not have reached us, the Sunna would not have reached us, Islam wouldn't have been preserved, etc. If you throw the ulama out, you throw Islam out. The scholars are the inheritors of the prophets. Anyone who wants to claim that the scholars were systematically biased on a global scale and unjust against women is undermining the morality of the ulama and is therefore undermining Islam itself.
In any case, I maintain that this is a logical assessment. Those who disagree are free to provide logical rebuttals. Spare me the emotional appeals, ad hominem whining, and white knight histrionics.
NB: Let me provide some disambiguation. Of course, the patriarchy does exist. Islam is a patriarchal religion in the anthropological sense. According to Islamic Law, lineage is patrilineal and social and family structures have authority flowing through the patriarch and other males figures. But patriarchy in the Feminist sense is different in that it ascribes maliciousness to these structures. The Feminist claim is that these patriarchal institutions are designed by men with the evil intention to frustrate the interests of women for the benefit of men. In other words, an evil cabal of men are perpetually conspiring to sabotage poor, innocent, naive women at every turn and the brave feminists have discovered this dastardly plot only in the past few decades and are fighting the good fight to abolish it. Yeah, it sounds crazy because it is. (From Bro Daniel haqiqatjou)

“The question “does Islam need feminism” on its own reveals an important assumption about Islam. Most Muslims believe that Islam is not simply a religion, culture, or tradition. Rather, it is an all-encompassing, totalizing, meaningful way of life. It is perfect and timeless and will always satiate and fulfill human beings, regardless of context. If we say that Islam needs X (read: feminism), then we are implying that Islam is deficient, lacking, and incomplete. We are saying Islam is unable to better the lives of women on its own unless we ascribe to it a project and ideology that originated totally outside the realm of Islam.”

The definition of feminism is "pertaining to women's issues." The feminist movement is responsible for women having the right to vote, the right to education, owning property, keeping maiden name , changes in rape laws, domestic violence laws and more . Yes Islam gave women these rights over 1500 years ago; HOWEVER, in many parts of the WORLD, these rights are DENIED to women. ESPECIALLY in some of these SO CALLED MUSLIM COUNTRIES. Before criticizing the FEMINIST movement and viewing it as a threat to men , family life and Islam, it would better serve human interest to ask and find out WHY women are still being denied their GOD GIVEN RIGHTS in many places today. FEMINISM = WOMEN LOOKING OUT FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS AND WELL BEING BECAUSE , IN MANY CASES, MEN WON'T DO IT.

Probably that's because women during rather the long lecture want to get comfortable and perhaps take off their scarves or someof the outer clothes making their veiled body parts exposed and theirfore don't want to be seen like that. As for the woman walking behind, it is her choice or maybe she is new to Islam?

You CANNOT Be a feminist, or any "ist" of anything while being Muslim.
There is also NO SUCH THING AS BEING GAY AND MUSLIM EITHER.
    STOP DREAMING..
IF SOMEONE IS GAY, THEY ARE CLEARLY NOT MUSLIM.
IT GOES AGAINST THE COMMANDMENTS OF ALLAH(swt).
AND NO REAL MUSLIM GOES AGAINST THEIR ONE TRUE GOD ALLAH(swt).
    Further more
In Islam, as a true Muslim or true Christian
Your Deen is the Qur'an revealed by ALLAH (swt) the Creator, the only 1 true Deity.
And the Hadiths are many to make sure that they continue coming to fruition.
Feminism DOES NOT align with the Quran, therefore, true Muslims and true Christian CANNOT Follow nor practice 2 different books regarding The structure of pray (Salat), Family Structure designed by ALLAH, it's purpose of being Structured that way, in order to worship ALLAH(swt) 1st Daily...
And to make children, between the blessed Union of Man/Male and Woman/Female (speaking same differences here because they are when naturally born that way.
And the 1 Life, by the 1 True GOD, our Lord and Master of the Day of Judgement ALLAH(swt)
Our actions have both positive and negative consequences here and then.
    It's evident in daily life.
You live a clean life, you eat clean things that are deemed Halal, you drink clean water, you Obstain from consuming toxins, alcohol, cigarettes, illicit drugs, prostitution, gambling, shaytanic worship...
You stay away from those things because they are the tools Meant to Destroy each brother and sister from WITHIN 1st.
You live your life clean and live your life as a servant and daily worshipper of ALLAH(swt) 1st
    Instead of serving yourself 1st...
But in feminism, it's all about me me me me me me me me, anger, frustration, arguments, segregation of certain stereotypes, and bullshit, and more bullshit.
Because man/male, is verily at loss, and so are women/female as human beings.
Without ALLAH(swt), the humans have shown the world, how DARK, violent, Filthy, back stabbing, immoral humans can get.
So why try to serve yourselves 1st as feminists...
Clearly history has proven selfishness to be wrong.
The cultural exposure to Islam is needed, the time necessary, the dedication, and education, and communication between converts and natural born Muslims is needed daily.
    Serve ALLAH(swt) 1st......
Then serve each other, helping, sharing, healing, cleaning yourselves and the environment around you, learning new education to increase your financial value with Halal means.
Invent new technologies to improve the world, not harm it not each other...
The answers are clear and evident when you look through such a practical camera lenses in a clean mature way.
Thanks be to ALLAH for this knowledge
    Salam

So by your logic, if you are a sinner, you cannot be Muslim? Do you know what it's like to walk in a women's shoes? Feminism is not a monolithic movement. It's always freaking men who has the most to say about this so called "feminism". Feminism doesn't particularly have to be about beating down patriarchy. It can be about women empowerment within the confines of Islam. Feminism is also not tied down to only one limited definition. It means something different to every individual. Clearly it scares the shit out of you to the point of draining all the blood from your face.

Look at the expressions of the women in the audience - they know there is no feminism in Islam - they have to live it. These women do not have rights in predominantly Muslim countries. What small concessions gleaned from the Quran are not available to them because there are so many other verses that do not promote equality and it is these that are used to subjugate women.
Stop with the cultural rhetoric. Islam has has centuries to overcome these cultural barriers to equality.
Bilal should perhaps speak to the women and LISTEN to what they have to say before spouting the equality in Islam narrative. So that the west does not dominate the resources you would have women unable to control their sexuality and continue to suffer FGM?!
