Worth noting there is not *technically* a limit to Obelisk's growth, in some sense, as you can play hands that don't score against certain bosses like The Eye or the Psychic to increase the amount of your most played hand without resetting the Obelisk.
I have to say I really like the recorded videos over the stream uploads. It just feels different because in this video you are talking to us so to speak and in your streaming videos you talk to chat. It makes more fun to watch here on UA-cam, because the commentary is just always focused and entertaining, while in a stream you have to sometimes explain things 3 or more times. If there is any way you could make more of these and kinda split it from streaming (do something else there) I would be very happy :) I will continue to watch your content anyway tho. Just wanted to let you know 😊

Obelisk is honestly an underrated joker casually, I've gotten it up to over 4x multiple times by pivoting from pair to two pair (or vice versa). It grows insanely fast

@@thatoneguy9582 Yeah, there are definitely some builds that you just can't pivot from (flushes with Arrowhead, for example), but there's honestly a good chance it's worth doing if you're playing low-level hands. I've even had a run with the Pants that was incredibly worth it to switch to pairs, the x mult you get from the Obelisk scales so much faster than almost anything else does. (Especially if you use throwaway hands to have it gain 0.6 or 0.8 per round)

Uh, Professor, Telescope guarantees you your most played planet card in packs regardless of what you have on the shelf. I'm on a Telescope/Observatory run right now and I am getting my most played showing up all the time. I don't have any Showman antics going on, either.

22:08 why not play some high cards before that flush ? I guess it costs a little short term money (the usual 1$ per hand) but that extra obelisk room could come useful

You have anywhere between 1170 and 2487 hands left. You will reasonably reach around 2000 hands, so do with that information as you will for planning the obelisk run.
Math explanation below:
The maximum amount of rounds (without time travel) is 38*3 = 114.
Minus 23 the ones yoou have played and Minus the one you will speak because of the double tag... aand that leaves you with 90 rounds left.
Due to the burglar that's at minimum 90*13 = 1170 hands left.
Hypothetically speaking, if in the next round you get a voucher tag and thus get +2 hands and +2 discards and you do manage to get the blueprint. You would have 6 + (5*4) = 26 hands per round.
So theoretically speaking, you would have 90*26 = 2340 hands left. You can add another 3*25 and 3*24 if you get the -1 ante twice in a row on ante 38, which would total 2487 hands left.
Tip: if you aee planning to get all the vouchers you kight as well leave the -1 ante ones for the last rounds, as you will lose 1 hand per round for no reason. If you got the -1 ante next round you would lose a minimum of 93 hands. If you got the 2nd -1 ante voucher the round after that you would lose 93+90 = 183 hands. That's 183 less obelisk uses compared to buying them in ante 38!!
Tip 2: If you have enough score to reach ante 39, you might want to consider buying +1 hand or even +1 discard joker. It might be a good idea to even get duplicates if it means enlarging your number of hands. Blueprint tech could help you maximize the effect of the +1 joker and the burglar.
PS. I have no interest in doing the calculations if you get the +1 hand/discard jokers :/

there are no +hand jokers
discards do nothing with burglar
blueprint and brainstorm will get swapped for scoring eventually. without good enough technology, naneinf is essentially impossible with just observatory.
due to this, going back in time is often worth it for the scoring help
@@thetechnovoid I see my bad, I have only 10+ hours in the game this I don't know every single joker. But doesn't the +1 discard voucher at the very least affect how many hands you get from burglar?

Hi doc, what about getting to ante 39 with the core combination of Baron + Mime + Blueprint + Brainstorm + Burglar + Preserved parking + rerolling bosses for Serpents? Sounds like a plan to beat the game without any legendaries
Runs relying on serpent are unfortunately roadblocked by the special bosses every 8 antes as you can't get serpent on them.
@@Androided Really the only blockage is in Ante 32, and if there happens to be a juggle tag on that Ante, and you have lots of double tags (e.g. diet cola), you can bypass it.

Just tried it myself. Got to ante 24 with fully complete setup just to realize it's impossible to roll the Serpent here 🥲
@@bitayt_ Ante 24 is tough. DNA can give you temporary hand size; if you have 4 Blueprints/Brainstorms, you can pass Ante 24.
Unfortunately, Ante 32 is a much bigger problem - if you can somehow get DNA and 7 Blueprints/Brainstorms (i.e. 10 jokers) and +1 hand size, you can pass Ante 32 fine, but otherwise really the only thing I can think of is stacking double tags for juggle tag

nah, the red seal is just an additional trigger on top of whatever the chad is doing, so it doesn't matter where it goes.
say you play a pair where one card has a red seal. if you put the seal in front it gets triggered 4 times (1 from the card itself, 2 from chad, and 1 from the seal) and the other one is triggered once (from the card itself) for a total of 5. if you swap their positions it becomes 3 + 2 which also comes out to 5. so it doesn't matter

probably was trying to avoid drawing a 4 of a kind/flush 5/flush house as his final hand at the cost of a trigger
