- A breakdown of all chords and several levels of strumming patterns to make this song written by Grover Washington Jr come alive. It's pretty much all barre chords, but all diagrams and strumming rhythms are illustrated throughout.

From all the way “down under”😊, man you are at the top in my opinion, when it comes to teaching guitar/songs on the Tube👌! I subscribed after the first lesson I viewed. Keep up the excellent work matey, and Thank you for your clear and lucid instructions👍🏻
Far out, Godfrey. Thanks so much. I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to get comments like that. I really appreciate it, mate. Thanks.
out of all the tutorials for this song. This was by far the easiest and clear cut lesson. Thank you!
That’s such a great comment! Thanks. I really appreciate it.
I fully agree!
Yesterday I heard this song and I wanted to learn it. It's a very memorable song from my past. You taught the chords to me in one night. Tonite I listened to you again....specifically to hear you again on your strum pattern. Now the song sounds infinitely better. You make it easy. You're a great teacher. Best wishes from Virginia.
Thanks so much Roger, warms my heart to get such a great comment. Cheers.
Best tutorial! Thanks for this
Thanks Blade Video!

Truly superb, perhaps the best tutorial on this song. Subscribed. Thank you so much.
Thank you!!
Great, clear lesson and delighted you covered the bridge/sax part. Thank you! 👍👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your great work. Helps saving lot of time and energy and is easy to understand.
Keep on mate🙂
Thanks Jack! Much appreciated. Cheers.
Thanks for the effort that goes into planning, filming and editing these songs, we all really appreciate it. You have a simple way of explaining things and educating as you go. I'm learning all different chord positions along the neck that I never would have picked up on my own, greatly appreciated.
What a great comment, Ash. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.
Clear, easily understood tutorial. The tone you get from your fingers, rather than using a pick, is amazing!
Aw, thanks, Richard. That’s kind of you. I was a pick player for the first half of my playing life, but I also find that finger playing gives you a lot more options and subtlety. It’s also good for reggae feels, which I love. Happy new year to you!
@@OneChartguitarlessons Happy New Year to you too. Thank you for replying to my post: you know what, some UA-camrs in your position don’t bother to answer comments and so it’s so refreshing to get a reply, thanks again!
Not a problem at all, mate. Without subscribers, the channel dies. I started doing this at the start of COVID after many years of teaching, and I’m loving it. I hope to be doing this - and replying to people - for many years to come! Cheers.
Hi Matt thanks for the lesson you have a very clear way of teaching and making the song easy to understand
@stephanbalarino thank you! So glad it was helpful for you. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Thanks David! Glad to hear it.
Very inspiring! Makes me want to play my guitar back again. Thanks a lot sir for this video tutorial lesson.
Go for it!
Wow, just found this and that was loads of fun, thanks so much!
Thanks for supporting the channel! And you’re welcome!
Hi Matt! Thank you for this tutorial! I love this song! I just downloaded the tab and will take this up as a challenge, as I just got comfortable with barre chords more or less up to the upper 5 frets. This song should take me up a level in terms of barre chords and knowing the notes on the fret board. And the rhythm in your rendition is awesome, too, another technique for me to learn and practice. And I will spend some time in the days and weeks to come exploring the library of songs and technique tutorials in your channel. Thank you again!
@Gech Li thank you for writing. I’m so glad that it was helpful for you! Thanks for supporting my channel. Please like and share as much as you feel you can!😁
Great tutorial. Only one I've found that covers the bridge and you did a great job on it. Thanks!
Cheers Danny. Thanks.
Thank you so much! My girlfriend is going to love it when I play this.
Wow good! Clear! Even that crazy good counting! The rhythm is the heart soul of Bill Withers (the chords “talk” once married to the those awsome chords). Nice to encourage that Natural flow. Such talented and instructor!
Thank you so much, Don. I am a huge Bill Withers fan.
This is a very good lesson!!! Easily learned how to play this song with no trouble at all. One of the easiest hard songs ive learned to play with this tutorial.
Thanks Treasure!
Awesome lesson 👍
Thanks mate.
great tutorial👍
Thank you!
Cool!! love it!!!
Thanks Sixxpy!
Wow one of my favourite song so nice to here thanks for the tutorial watching from Philippines🤗💗💟😙
Amora Corina thank you so much for the comment, so glad you're on the channel!
Nice job on the bill withers lesson
Thanks mate. Glad you liked it. I’ve also done ones for Grandma’s Hands, and Ain’t no Sunshine which includes a bit of John Mayer stuff in it as well.
Thank you so much for this - I nailed this about 18 months or so back, but could never get the end of the bridge section after the walkdown- from the Amay7 aflat7 was "do stuff" in a sort of barre around the 5th fret & smudge...
Sounds better now- thank you so much for revealing this bit! ;-)
That’s my pleasure SlowPursuit. Glad it helped. It’s such a great song. I can’t think of another that has a chord progression like this, although I’m sure they’re out there. I just love Bill Withers.
Nice vocals!
Aw shucks. Thanks!
fasih banget bahasa Inggrisnya om
10/10
Thanks Lucas!
Great lesson. I’d really like to hear you play the entire song; is that posted anywhere???
Hi Peter, no, not yet. I may do some live streaming stuff soon, but for now these lessons are keeping me busy. If you ever show up to one of my Sydney gigs I'll play it for you anytime though!
hello sir may i ask is your onechart free to order?
Yes it is!
I don't see that bridge resolving in "F", I think it's actually an Ebmaj7 played at the 14th fret with the B string dropped to a Bb The F just doesn't sound right to me.
Why is in f minor key
Both the chords and the melody indicate that the key is Fm. It can also be thought of as Ab major. there are a few chords that are not strictly diatonic, which can be confusing. however if you follow the melody it is almost 100% in the key of Fm, and the progression resolves strongly to the Fm chord. Hope that helps.
This is no way easy.
But it is so worth it...
I once felt that I'd never get barre chords and my rhythm strumming sucked, but I worked on it (very slowly) over time, and all of a sudden I'm surprised and amazed at how simple they actually feel now. Practice, practice, practice!!!
Don’t sing
Thanks for your kind words. But it’s an illness: I have to.
