This was my first serious camera. I still have it today and it is great for photography. The iso may only go to 1600 (low for todays standards) but it takes clean shots even at 1600. 1600 has a nice level of grain that is not messy.
I'm shooting with as well, As my 2-year-old son. He always evaporates camera from my hand when sees I'm photohraphing him. And this camera is like iron. I'm just chill when my kid uses :)

But I still own both bodies and earlier in mid 2020 I was shooting a few shots with my XSI as my 6DII was in storage. It is still just as amazing as it has always been and if the subject is not fast moving, it can handle any situation I throw at it.

Hi, I hope this reaches you, is there anyway to transfer pictures to your phone from the camera? I know there’s SIM cards that have WiFi but are there other options? Is there any way of upgrading the settings to enable WiFi ? Does this make sense
Don't use portrait mode. Put the camera on Av, put the iso on auto, and use the lowest f/stop your lens allows. Or put it on sports mode. It's basically the same as portrait mode but no flash.

Twisting the front part of the lens is how you manually focus.

The best thing to do would be to get a card reader that you can put your memory card in and connect to the computer

On newer canon cameras you can (like the t6 and the t7) but I don't believe that's possible on the xsi.
unless you do camera to computer, then computer to phone via normal transfer (bluetooth or cord)

Sell it and buy a new one. This camera is very old and the new cameras have a lot of new features (like recording video!)
