yes it will, the Traction Control system is very good, more emphasis is needed on decent tyres, whether AT or MT's. The CDL no doubt does inprove the vehicle no end and means you have less spining wheels when attacking an obstacle, the major difference is the CDL is locked in when you want, the TC system has to "lose" traction before it works, thats the negative side to it. A CDL equiped transfer box can be added for not much money to an 02 plate later down the line should you wish to do so.
@JinxanatorF22Yes ,tire tread design and depth along with inflation pressure make a HUGE difference! Also drivers ability is very important ,my friend is one of the best off roaders I have seen and he has no locker in his vehicle just good tires-no he can't go everywhere but he doesn't miss much! we are going to start posting 4x4 how to videos soon -learning to drive in the forest not the desert
Ok serious question here. im looking at getting me a disco 02 model, which does NOT feature the Central Locking Diff option. now admittedly, im a pretty rookie offroader, so im not looking to do anything too heavy. BUT will a vehicle with no CLD feature still be able to tackle some things like a steep hill, etc
so sad land rover went from safari vehicles to mall crawlers. at least jeep has stayed true to its roots and have only become more capable with each new model.
Come on...... so much shit to read... the video is great, I have it in German. I got it from Camel Switzerland in 1992 ..... no sucking SUV at that time. Great 4x4 vehicles wich deserved their name....... not like new shit VW Tiguan.
This is great, good advice and a very retro style, this must be from the 70s.
thank you very much for uploading a great information....appreciated...

Yes diff vehicles perform differently I agree, but the "basic" rules apply to any
4x4 tbh, not just a Land Rover
@stewartx5 ... wtf do you mean with a compact 4x4 ... ? Shit like a VW Tiguan?
Good video.
@stewartx5 man what are you saying? land rovers are so much fun to drive! specially the series!
very nice video
@stewartx5 ... wtf do you mean with a compact 4x4 ... ? Shit like a VW Tiguan? Modern SUV nonsense?
A Land Rover will get you there but a Land Cruiser will get you back
It's such a shame 1980's Range Rovers have such bad reliability issues, because that is a damn fine looking vehicle.
9:43 "not a very pleasant place to park" xD
@Discovery2TD5 Thanks Very Much!
Kiitos
@badmts Thanks Very Much
why does he keep on emphasising on the H in words like- while,wheel
