      N bit binary value comparator can be implemented by substracting N bit in an adder with status flags

    When to take half adder when to take Full adder ???

      You need two half adder in the first row, at both ends.
      And apart from that, in each remaining row, you will require one half adder at the right end side. you can see the diagram of both 3-bit and 4-bit multiplier, you will get it. The same is also true for 5 or 6-bit multipliers or in general for N-bit multiplier.
