That's all George Harrison's work on the guitar. I especially like his slide-guitar solos. His style is unique, and you know that's George Harrison when you hear it.

So it wasn't Clapton who showed George the slide, it was Delaney Bramlett. I think George was the underrated Beatle. His songs that he wrote with the group are some of my favorites ("Taxman", "Within You Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun" & "Something"). He was a great songwriter & had many hits when he went solo. Also love when he was part of the supergroup "The Traveling Wilburys" with Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty. Underrated? Good grief. After almost 60 years we are still listening to snd discussing music of the Beatles as a group as well as the individual members. What an impact on the world of music! Never underrated!
They certainly had more depth than most of Paul's songs. Unfortunately John's solo career was short-lived. His Walls and Bridges, Imagine and the John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band albums are fabulous albums. Mind Games has it's highlights but is inconsistent. Some Time In New York City was a disappointment though.
He played all the guitars including double tracking the slides . He's singing to Krishna (God) like a prayer, begging him to give him love and peace and to keep him from being born ever again ("keep me free from birth") ,
I met George Harrison at the British Grand Prix back in the late 80's, I asked him if he would sign my programme, he was very gracious and very chatty. We discussed the forthcoming race and who we thought would win, still have that program......... somewhere 😂😂🇬🇧
A voice like no other. A man like no other. His music was always from his heart. Miss him so much. R.I.P. George. That guitar was played by George. What a sweet spirit!
Gorgeous George. I adore most of his solo stuff. Sorely missed Georgie. Tomorrow is the 41st anniversary of John's murder. I struggle to this day with their too early passing.
The entire “All Things Must Pass” album is wonderful with such a beautiful spirit. George was a lovely spirit and a decent humble human being. Great choice by Stephen. Nice reaction Harri🌺✌️
Anyone wanting to know more about George and who he was should read Eric Idle's biography. He was great friends with George, and George was a huge supporter of Monty Python. He actually helped fund "Life of Brian". George was very focused on the Divine. I think for him asking to be "free from birth" would mean an eternal communion with the Divine which seems to have been all he'd ever wanted. Surely everyone who knew him and loved him will miss him forever. But George? George is right where he wants to be.
thanks, J! yes, George was a sweet soul -- I remember reading him saying at one time that "the cause of death is always life/birth" - forgive my paraphrase -
George was a film producer. His company, Handmade Films, was one of the most notable independent film houses in the 70's and 80's. Also, George was a Hindu and believed that through enlightenment he could free himself from the cycle of birth/death/rebirth. He was a true seeker.
Good day Harry I can tell you with confidence that Eric Clapton assisted somewhat with this song, but as the previous person stated it’s all pure Harrison. Listening to all things must Pass taught me. I was on the wrong road when I was young. Like you said, we’re just lucky to be here. Love your show man. I’ve been watching you for several years now and look forward to year choices and your takes peace be with you my friend.
Just got to love this. i didnt listen to music for 10 year. I was tired. Then my daughter at 10 year found my records..im abble to enjoy music again cuz of my kids.
George Harrison was SO GREAT. I grew up with The Beatles. And after they broke up, he put out the album “All Things Must Pass”. A masterpiece. He has the most unique and gentle voice.
This started for me when Cloud 9 was released sometime in the 80s as a teen. I started listening to more Beatles and George's solo work and I fell in love. Like you, the older I get, his songs get more and more meaningful.
I just found your channel looking for Beatles reactions, especially George my favorite, and I can see you have reacted to different solo work from all of them, so I can't wait to check them all. Loved when you highlighted how beautiful George looks in one photo that happens to be one of my favorites too, that one appears on the cover of 'Let It Be' where all 4 look gorgeous, but yes George's smile is the best, he was also a very nice, spiritual and altruistic person.
George was, I think, the most complex personality of the four. He was the spiritual one-who was also into fast cars, and specifically Formula 1 racing. The one who embraced peace-who once punched someone in a hospital where his mother was because they weren't taking proper care of her. And he could write biting sarcasm in songs like Lennon, but with a more deft touch.
Isn’t it amazing?! Who knew UA-cam could open our eyes and ears to the history of music. I still find such happiness watching younger people discover the wealth of amazing music created and performed in almost 70 years of my lifetime. Thanks for sharing.
Harri, you are just so bright and beautiful. Your comment about Karma is an interesting one. Of course George Harrison did not "deserve" cancer, however, that is the natural consequence for a lifetime smoker. It's a trade-off. We are looking from the outside in making the ultimate "Karmic decision" about someone we don't know based on our own truth and experiences as a human being. Whatever he and his family went through during that time brought lessons that could not be learned in any other way. Translating that to our own lives we always need to ask ourselves though the good and the bad "what lessons should I be learning to move my life and others lives around me forward". George needed to go through that to move his son's life Dhani perpetually forward in positive ways for others, in ways unknown to outsiders. Karma is only for us to use to learn life lessons to better ourselves. We cannot judge Karma by how it looks to us on the outside because we dont know the ultimate lesson and outcome on the other side of a seemingly negative event. Thank you for bringing up something that gives my mind fuel and energy for deep thinking. Music is what brings us ultimately together. You are awesome. Love your channel, thanks for sharing with the world.

Such a beautiful song 🖤 That’s George on Slide Guitar. He was the first ex-Beatle to get a solo #1 record. After watching Get Back, I’m so so happy that he was first 🖤
Very insightful commentary. Just for a little more info, George had already had cancer and was doing well when he was attacked in his home. His wife, Olivia, and his son, Dhani both believe the knife attack was too much for George in his already weakened state and that’s what ultimately caused the cancer to come back and kill him. Overall, though, he had a beautiful outlook on life and many, many friends and family who loved him. He seems to have been more at peace with his impending death than most people are.
A song of Peace and Love. Right up, George's lane. He seemed to be very careful with the lyrics that he wrote. He wanted them to have meaning and not just a song to write a song. Obviously, he was like us all imperfect and all, but he always seemed to not accept the status quo. I saw the new "Get Back" series three times now. It was soooo nice to revisit those days. 80% of it is positive. Thanks for posting Harri, a great song choice again.
George was on the guitars on this and many of his songs. On some albums he had help from Eric Clapton especially, and others as he guested on many other recordings of songs some of which were hits or well regarded. He was a musician’s musician.
