I bought mine and am really happy about it. I’ve streamed over weddings and events and it has worked great. Simple UA-cam one button press live stream integration, lots of inputs, and a long battery. Hey Shane, this thumbnail of version 3.0 was so ON POINT! Came for the review, stayed for the wholesomeness. But for real, been a sub for a while, stellar work !
5:10 Do you have to use their service in order to stream with this? It looks like the device doesn't include effects like fading / keying between the inputs?
Awesome conten Shanet!! Thank you for introducing this versatile multi-cam live streaming studio!!! Looking forward to the outdoor testing live show and the comparism video with ATEM Mini Pro and More!!!
This solves an issue I’ve been battling with on live-streaming youth soccer games with the ability to add a scoreboard and other overlays. The mobility is an added benefit. I will couple this with the hipod camera system and maybe a gopro as well.
Obviously! You could Create a pip window to realize the feature. The record is independent to the live stream but it it goes along with your video source switching.
Question, when recording internally, do you record all video inputs or only the selected input. ie. if I have a band recording with various cameras, can I post process the switching between cameras and produce a final video?
Can you somehow color correct the image from respective cameras? The webcam's color was way off. If not, then there might be some advantage to maybe more complex Atem mini Pro solution.
Awesome video, thank you! As I'm totally new to streaming I have a question. Do I need a video capture card when connecting a dlsr into this? Specifically a Sony a7r4 or a6500? Or can I just plug these cameras straight into the e.g. USB port and it will work? Or in the case of an A7s3 which has a full size HDMI port, can I just plug that straight in?
I am a crafter that does demos online to Facebook and will eventually have a youtube channel. On the overlay function can you load in a logo? Also, this seems so easy to use compared to Switcher Studio or others.
I am going to do a full video about that coming up once I test it. I did just purchase a USB-3 to HDMI Adapter that is supposed to work so stay tuned as I'll have videos about chaining these together soon.
I have the yolobox now, while it is a perfect device for so many tasks, it can’t access the blackmagic Atem mini (non of them) through the usb-webcam port. It is ok, I’ll use it on the Hdmi with program out on the bm.
Hi, what about video source from SD card. Can we add 2 or more videos to the menu and then choose which one will be playing? And the next question...can we add transparently video? (Alpha channel mov files)

Shane, I'm searching for an effective but effective and affordable way to do camera switching when giving music lessons on Skype, and would appreciate your advice. I'm considering using Canon DSLRs I already own, with Canon's Webcam Utility to deliver video to my Macbook Pro via USB. Alternately, could the following idea work and not have degraded image quality: Webcam with USB2 output > USB-to-HDMI converter > Atem Mini? I have more webcams than DSLRs! I'm currently switching webcams in Skype using preferences, but it's slow and clunky.
Stupid question: could you theoretically connect the atem mini as a webcam via usb to it? So you could connect even more cameras :D Or does that not work?

Can the settings e.g. PiP profile be saved for the next "creation" or it has to be reassigned on each "creation" since I wanted to use the same PiP setting each time? 3. How many PiP profiles can be set up in each creation e.g. can one PiP profile be HDMI 1 small and HDMI 2 as background, and vice versa for the second PiP be set up in the same "creation"? Many thanks!
So my client just bought this and I am trying to use the hdmi out (monitor) through the elgato for zoom. We are having issues with the sound streaming through it. It sounds like interference through the audio and it’s chopping up. Would like to see if you ran into this issue before and how you over came it. For now we are inputting through a zoom h5 direct into pc for sound. Also our webcam isn’t reading via usb. Looking at the webcam the power light is on but the feed is not being read. Do you know what this could be? Anyway thanks for your help in advance. :)
Does this setup work flawlessly when streaming directly? Have you checked all the Zoom audio settings or any other converter(not just legato). Can you share the streaming link(with the audio issues) to frank.zhu@yololiv.com that I may help trouble shoot?

You can add in an external source like a computer via the HDMI connection. There's also more stuff you can connect to the USB port as well but I only had a webcam to try. There might be another way to rig that up somehow but it's not built in I am pretty sure.
After being on the fence for months, now I’m in. Question though. Can the small audio in Jack feed audio in (say bg music) while my camera audio goes through hdmi?
Hey Shane. Dumb question. If you aren’t going to live stream (yet) and want to simply record 4 sources to switch camera angles later in post, is that possible on this unit? Or is video source switching live only?
a test using 4g would be good to see.. should go to an area where you know your phone has good coverage and also one with just avergae coverage to see the difference with reliability and stream quality..
You need to disable the HDMI info option in your camera. Most cameras allow you to switch all the on screen text off. It's also called "Clean HDMI Feed" google that with your camera model and you'll be in business.
I think the reason the Diety mic didn't work is that the port is looking for line level instead of mic level. The port on the BMD ATEM Mini Pro needs line level.
Shane, Question? In the switcher options are they working on cut transitions? That would really finish off this product from what I'm seeing from the update you're showing in this review!
@@frankfengzhu Thank you for the reply, one more question that I asked below on graphic overlays... In this review, I missed where you could load your own png logos and lower 3rds... Is that still and option with this update?

It says it works with a number of USB devices but I don't have that particular one to test. If you check the user manual it shows it works also with various hardware.
Can I Bluetooth the device to connect to my 4K camera and cellphone/DSR camera and bypass the HDMI cable? If yes, please explain the process. Thank you.
Loved this video. I recently did a wedding ceremony and this would work so well as you don't really need to run a multicamera setup but to be super mobile would be amazing. What equipment would you recommend to capture wireless audio from the celebrants microphone?
Great review, thanks! I use the LiveU Solo encoder for upload reliability using up to 4 SIM cards. Can the output on this product via the HDMI out deliver me a clean signal if I use the LiveU solo?
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Question: The HDMI-Out you say can send a clean feed, do you know whether it is just a pure clean feed of the current/active source camera only, or will it include overlays, lower-thirds, etc. I am really hoping it is the latter, because I would like to use HDMI out to send a local feed directly to an on-site TV for an audience to watch that is identical to what is being streamed online. Oh, and before I forget, great in-depth review, thanks!
Shane...great review. Have you compared USB and HDMI output compared to the ATEM? I have two YBPs and cannot achieve a quality output on either. I get jitter on all types of inputs. I’ve tried different video sources including our BM studio cams, Canon SL3s and an M1 MAC laptop. I even tried a video from the SD card. Any source jitters on the YB hdmi output and the usb. So, my final test scenario was to run our BM Studio Cam to an ATEM MINI Extreme ISO then to my MAC M1 mini. The usb signal is stable. If I go from the camera to the YBP to the ATEM then the mac, the output is jittery. If I eliminate the ATEM and use the YBP usb to the mac, same jitter. If I feed hdmi out of the YBP to a monitor, same jitter. So, I believe I have pinpointed the cause of the jitter to the YBP. But I am stumped. I see others getting quality output. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
Hi thanks for the review, about recording it seems you get the same quality as the stream when recording on the sd card. Is it possible to record through the HDMI out with a Monitor and get a good quality
Hey Shane! Great channel and vids! I cannot get my gopro 9 to work with my Yolo box. Media transfers from cameras but no vid signal. I have tried HDMI micro from cam to Yolo and USB. Neither works. What am I not doing? Thanks man!
It's a neat product, but I can't get my HDMI program out to work. I've toggled the HDMI program out option on/off, restarted the device, and even factory reset. Is there a simple fix that I'm missing? Thanks.
Great video dude. Slightly unrelated question: is there a way to get my usb Logitech 902 webcam to connect via a hdmi input ie like a reversed cam link adapter? Thanks in advance ☺️
Thanks for your great video Shane, Can this stream a stereo audio source via the analogue audio input ? Also, will an audio input of a person speaking be in synch with the cameras ?
The better audio options are found on the YoloBox Pro. I just released a video about that while using the Rodecaster Pro. That keeps the audio in sync.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thanks for your reply Shane. I just bought the original (non-pro) Yolobox two days ago. I am beginning to regret it. The sound from the audio input (analogue) seems to be just mono and hissy at that. For that input to also be out of synch with any of the video sources is a massive deal breaker. This device showed so much hope. Where to from here? Well, I would hope that the pro version can be a bg step up ...
Very cool, I'd actually like to see them do a similar system but more simplistic. A single HDMI input, chop down all the overlay stuff, and skip the SD card and focus on tethering. As it stands it's an immense value though, much cheaper and more robust than the LiveU solo.
Like a "YoloBox Mini"? Haha. The team is still discussing with this one though. Later this year in December, we plan to first roll out YoloBox Pro. Stay tuned.
@@frankfengzhu Cool deal, I just like the idea of something that can accept HDMI and send it out to twitch in a small package. Best option on the market right now is still to carry around a laptop and a huge battery pack.
Could I connect my Logitech BRIO 4K (or other webcam) to this "BOX" through its USB In? If so, where could I set the webcam video quality & Depth of Field????
I ended up getting a USB to HDMI adapter to enable that third input. There's a video coming up shortly but I have not yet filmed it. It's coming up in about a week or two.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thank you! From what I have learned the restriction is only when using mobile. This device is not a "mobile" device, so you can stream without a 1000 subs.

Great review as always. I am looking for a solution that will allow me to remote stream sports from various locations in all weathers. So far my best effort is a sort of IRL backpack using a Laptop running OBS capturing video through my Elgato HD60 and streaming using a 4g modem router. (No money for a USolo and multiple data contracts.) This is ok but its a struggle and a strain to operate it all whilst filming. Extra monitor and wireless keypad etc. The Yolo box might be able to tick all my boxes. I am almost certain it's 1080p. I ran it into a 1080p reference monitor and it looked great. I'll double-check tomorrow for you.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thanks so much. I am getting some indications that the audio does not work on the HDMI out which would be a shame.
@@livestreamireland7745 there was some upgrade that there is audio output on the HDMI out.
It's a neat product, but I can't get my HDMI program out to work. I've toggled the HDMI program out option on/off, restarted the device, and even factory reset. Is there a simple fix that I'm missing? Thanks.
What monitor are you using?
Great video dude. Slightly unrelated question: is there a way to get my usb Logitech 902 webcam to connect via a hdmi input ie like a reversed cam link adapter? Thanks in advance ☺️
great review! so no workaround to sync audio in with broadcasted video?
How could I connect two cameras to this device(wireless connection)?
Why are there two lights visible in the frame, both lighting the wall behind you for no reason, and blowing out the scene?
As doing streaming live by to cameras? AUDIO LINE IN is too low.
How about import sound from mixer? Also audio latency ?!
Thanks for your great video Shane,
Can this stream a stereo audio source via the analogue audio input ?
Trashkov yes what you need is exactly what we are discussing!!
Feng Zhu look forward to seeing the features of the pro. Would love to see a quality line level audio input with the ability to sync with video.
@@frankfengzhu I plan to buy a yolobox during blackfriday... but can you tell more about yolobox pro? Features, price and availability?
Great video mate. Can I use the Yolo box for a basketball games streaming? With scoreboard, running clock etc? Thanks
Yes YoloBox is ideal for sport production.
Thanks bro! Great video. Quick questions: can I add B Rolls? Can I have a virtual guest from whatsapp or Skype etc??? Thank you
what are other products that are similar to this?
The YoloBox Pro
Could I connect my Logitech BRIO 4K (or other webcam) to this "BOX" through its USB In? If so, where could I set the webcam video quality & Depth of Field????
Tell Best Sim bonding router for Yolobox
I facing network problems in Yolobox
how do I set my Program out on yolo live ?
I heard that you can plug a capture card (like an Elgato) into the USB to get 3 hdmi inputs, can you confirm this?
I ended up getting a USB to HDMI adapter to enable that third input. There's a video coming up shortly but I have not yet filmed it. It's coming up in about a week or two.
since the yolobox updated to new version the HDMI NO LONGER SENDS AUDIO OUT VIA THAT OUTPUT DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS
Can USB be converted to HDMI to incorporate multiple WebCams? I’m a newbie…
Hi mate. Yep. I made a video using a USB-3 to HDMI adapter with the Yolobox. This will give you up to 3 proper cameras (or HDMI feeds)
@@GeekyNerdyTechy 🙏Thank you for your help and fast reply. I love your UA-cam channel. It’s awesome! 👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻
Do you know if you still need the 1000 subscriber minimum to live stream to youtube when using this device?
support.google.com/youtube/answer/2853834?hl=en#:~:text=To%20live%20stream%20on%20mobile,through%20a%20computer%20and%20webcam.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thank you! From what I have learned the restriction is only when using mobile. This device is not a "mobile" device, so you can stream without a 1000 subs.
What bitrate recording options do you get at 1080p? Thanks for the review?
Up to 1080P30 for recording.
@@frankfengzhu Thanks, I mean the bitrate not the resolution. What is the max bitrate for internal recording to the SD card?
Speakers Corner UK 30fps in 1080p
@@frankfengzhu I mean the bitrate - how many MB/s does it record at 5/10/20/30 or more. Not frames per second. Please have a quick read of bitrate and see if you can tell us the recording bitrate (not the streaming bitrate), thanks.
@@SpeakersCornerUK I couldn't find that in the specs, given it gives 9 hours on his 32gb card it's going to be pretty low.
Are the small previews always chopping like this ?
At the time of filming I had to use Quicktime (which sucks) to get the footage captured. If it looks a bit weird its because of that.
What interests me is the scoreboard, and more importantly is it customizable or can you load in your own graphics to make it more relevant to the team and sport that you are filming? Any ideas and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Currently you can upload team logos and names..a more customizable scoreboard feature is on our roadmap and should be ready to release in a few more udpates!!
