Yes keep the creativity and uniqueness!! It's so much more entertaining and fun to get ideas from! And not quite yet, I just wrapped up my sophomore year so I will be a junior in the fall.

I really liked the tip about setting a 10-minute timer in the morning. That was some really good advice as I do often get sidetracked in the morning. I will definitely try that this coming fall.

I am one of the only males with this major and also in my town there are no male elementary school teachers. When I go on youtube, there is only female teacher vlogger. I am hoping to become the first male kindergarten teacher in my town.

Your classroom is huge! I have been a teacher in Mexico in nice private schools and never had that much space! I would be crazy happy with a class like that!

First 20 minutes here. Can u break it down more and show more details? I pulled a small group today and had everyone working on making words, but each game board was at the level of each child. They LOVED it! You would have been so proud!

do you do small groups based on ability level or another way? is math and reading groups organized differently? do you have bins for workboxes for math and seperate ones for reading?
I love how big ur classroom is I going to school to become a special ed. Teacher I have mild cerebral palsy so I would love to have a big classroom so I can move around because I have cerebral palsy I have to be physical active because of my stiff and tight legs how did u end up with a big classroom
not many male Kindergarten teachers. my neighbor teaches 4th grade and he says that there is a stigma concerning men and young kids. i never really thought about it myself. i had only one male teacher in all of grade school and he was great.
I have to ask, how do you overcome a kid's math anxiety. A lot of people struggle with math later in life. The very word itself sounds so unpleasant. A five-year-old has possibly heard their older siblings or cousins complaining about their math homework or how they barely scrapped a C on their report card for whatever math subject they took.
My mom said not to be a teacher and I want to be a teach so do you have any advice and what grade do you teach I want to be a kindergarten teacher and is it fun to be a teacher please respond

Once you get into middle school, you'll start to see more male teachers, especially in High School. I remember back when I was in elementary school, there were only two male teachers. I only had one of them as my teacher. But once you grow out of elementary school, you don't really pay attention to what gender is your teacher is.
Very true. We only had 1 male elementary school teacher. But middle and high school was a good mix. Personally I really enjoyed my male teachers, they usually made class a ton of fun!

My tattoos can all be covered up easily for job interviews so it was never a problem. Although now I feel that I would not want to work at a school or for a principal that wouldn't hire someone due to tattoos. In fact my first principal had more tattoos than me haha.

No problem! The timer does really help me and I find that I get much more done when I set one.

How dependent are your kids? I'm thinking about doing teaching as well as film at university but i'm not sure what age level to do.

Instead of "ignorance or defiance" I use the terms "skill or will", same thing but mine rhymes and has fewer syllables ;)
