I give Priscilla all of my respect. After Elvis died she had to raise Lisa Marie alone while trying to build back up the Elvis foundation, sue the Colonel, and hold her acting and fashion career. And after forty five years of Elvis being gone she still holds so much love and respect for him. I watched a video of her going through old photos and I can just see the love in her eyes every time there was a photo with Elvis in it. This scene must’ve been so hard to watch when she saw this movie.

Honestly, I would have had more respect if she had done this without taking the surname Presley again and continuing to exploit it. Undoubtedly, everything she does also has an economic purpose, certainly not just out of respect for Elvis, his legacy and the fans. After the divorce, not all of her sentimental and private choices have benefited her daughter ... Scientology first. I can't empathize so much with this woman that despite having suffered during her marriage she always knew even before what she was doing and who she was marrying. She always professed to have divorced to find herself and get away from Elvis' lifestyle but in the end she lived her whole life in the spotlight using only the one thing people know her for ... the name Presley.

@@doggiedukeandfriends Of course they should not have had a baby so early. But it was Priscilla's liberation. As soon as she had Lisa, she was financially fixed at least for the next 18 years. She could then do anything she wanted she did not have to please Elvis anymore. This was when she started going around saying, "this is the year I came out"! The time when she stopped dressing the way Elvis liked, started modeling locally, (I think preparing for her future show business career) and when she had her first affair with her dance teacher. She said in her book that the affair with the dance teacher was because Elvis would not have sex with her after the baby was born, but took that story back a few years ago.

Priscilla has said that she loved Elvis but not the lifestyle he was living. Those who came after (Linda Thompson and Sheila Ryan) pretty much said the same. They couldn't live that kind of life. As it was, Linda ended up marrying Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner, while Sheila married James Caan and gave birth to a boy who ended up becoming Danno on the reboot of "Hawaii Five-O". As it was, Sheila and James split up after less than a year, probably because she did an interview where she sang Elvis' praises. No husband wants to hear his wife talking about how great her ex was, especially if hubby ain't exactly Mr. Handsome and the ex happens to be the King of rock'n'roll (handsomest man ever, or so it's been said).

He said it was common for older men to marry younger girls like 14. As for the drugs people had no idea what they were dealing with. People didn't see prescription drugs the same as street drugs and didn't have an understanding of addiction. Prople tend to judge what we think and do now on how things were in the past. It's not the same. My guess 50 years from now Society will have changed and they have different views. Towards the end of his life Elvis really got more spiritual like more on the existential side. We don’t know in real life if Elvis had this reaction I mean priscilla lives in a fairytale world and is able to say whatever’s going to make her look good I mean after all her ex husband isn’t here to defend himself. Linda Thompson spent 4 years with Elvis and she said Elvis’s ego was hurt more than anything about the divorce. Priscilla comes to Elvis and said she wants a divorce because she wants to find herself and she had been dating Mike stone for the last 2 years of the marriage that’s the part that hurt Elvis and reality is Linda was with Elvis right after the divorce and yes he was deep into prescription pills she saved his life 10-12 times and stayed with Elvis at every hospital stay and she said priscilla not one time called or came to visit him at the hospital. Mike stone later wrote a book called how I stoled Elvis Presleys wife. During the divorce priscilla got a lot but Elvis said just don’t ever use the Presley name well when Elvis’s dad died priscilla took it back and has managed to live a lavish lifestyle.

Grooming her is a myth. He knew her parents well and it was her own father that wanted them to be together. Priscilla even states they didn't have sexual encounters until they got married when she was well beyond 18. During her teen years, he was dating other women until they reconnected when she matured and her father and his manager, Tom Parker, pressured Elvis to marry her. But even then, marrying at young ages was more common back then. We shouldn't judge the past based on today's principles. My dad was 19 when he met my 16 year old mom. They are still married to this day.
