It's crazy that Tony, Andy, and Roger put together the group originally as a backing band for other famous singers at the time and Liv Tyler's mom was supposed to sing this. Robert Palmer came in to sing lead on a different song, and found out they recorded this and asked if he could just do a demo vocal over their recording. The rest of the group loved it so much they decided to use Palmer as the vocalist for the whole album 🤘

The thing I liked about Robert Palmer is that he dressed rather conservatively . He was so damn cool and suave that he didn't feel the need to wear outrageous clothes and funky hairstyles. He was happy to let the other dudes do that. They didn't steal each other's thunder. They shined individually. That's what drew so many of us in.
This is a studio track. Highly doubt they played this together from beginning to end in the studio. This certainly isn't a live recording. You have to give more credit to the sound engineers and producers. I'm sure Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards had a hand in this. Edward's bass lick as well.

It would have been great to see him with Led Zepplin as was planned before his car accident ended that opportunity. Loved what he did for Bowie on the Let's Dance album as well.. RIP Tony your talent is missed..
The power in those drums was unreal. The bass line strong. The guitar razor sharp and the vocals smooth but with force. These slick bastards made a masterpiece of an album and redifined a classic track.

He was next to Benny "Papa Zita" Benjamin Motown Funk Brother one of the best unknown in the Business. Benny played Drums on Going To A Go Go. Unfortunately , he along with Bassist James Jamerson died of Alcoholism.

Powerful Drums and powers vocals..
Fell in love with John Taylor with Duran Duran... became OBSESSED with him in Power Station... he's still BEAUTIFUL till this day.
The power in those drums was unreal. The bass line strong. The guitar razor sharp and the vocals smooth but with force. These slick bastards made a masterpiece of an album and redifined a classic track.

An excellent cover. Each individual band member makes their own contribution to the song and that helps make the song excellent. I have listened to it hundreds of times over the years and I never get tired of it. The Power Station was one of the greatest Super Groups of all time.

Both the guitar players and that drummer are top notch S-tier. Superior. Put in Palmer and it's great its better than Eric Burden fronting War.
I hear a lot of Chris Squire influence in his playing, and I really liked Squire's playing.

The first concert I ever went to. My dad dropped me and my friend and waited in the parking lot for us. In Jackson,Ms. When we came outside I couldn't hear for about 10 minutes. It was so loud. But it was great. 10th grade in HS. Good memories
