Lyrics:
No-no-notorious
No-no-notorious
I can't read about it, burns the skin from your eyes
I'll do fine without it, here's one you don't compromise
Lies come hard to disguise
Let me to fight it out, not wild about it
Lay your seedy judgements, who says they're part of our lives?
You own the money, you control the witness
I hear you're lonely, don't monkey with my business
You pay the profits to justify the reasons
I heard your promise but I don't believe it
That's why I'll do it again
No-no-notorious
Girls will keep the secrets, so long as boys make the noise
Fools run rings to break up, something they'll never destroy
Grand notorious slam, (bam) and who really gives a damn
For a flaky bandit?
Don't ask me to bleed about it, I need this blood to survive
You own the money, you control the witness
I hear you're lonely, don't monkey with my business
You pay the profits to justify the reasons
I heard your promise but I don't believe it
That's why I'll do it again
Notorious
Notorious
You own the money, you control the witness
I hear you're lonely, don't monkey with my business
You pay the profits to justify the reasons
I heard your promise but I don't believe it
You own the money, you control the witness
I hear you're lonely, don't monkey with my business
You pay the profits to justify the reasons
I heard your promise but I don't believe it
That's why I'll do it again
No
No-no
That's why I'll do it again
No-notorious
Yeah, that's why I'll do it again
No-no-notorious
Yeah, that's why I'll do it again
No-notorious
No-no-notorious
Yeah, that's why I'll do it again

This song never gets old.
Most definitely

It rocks!

Awesome dance song
Who in 2024?
I like this song
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yes.
Me 😊
Me too.
I happened to be a teenager in the best decade of all times. Long live the 80s
69 baby here and yea we did I saw them when I was I think 10 or 11 opening for blondie It was a GREAT decade cheap concert tickets and THE BANDS omg I only hate I missed Queen and Journey with steve perry :D
@@sunderland2023 I do not disagree it was their experimental stage having just done power station and Arcadia and they are good I enjoy them I just still deepluy love the first 3 albums they were perfect to me at least
Best decade hands down.
70s-early 2000s were the shit
Same here
In fact one of the most iconic bands of the 80's
in the first half of the 80s maybe even the most iconic.
Time to induct duran duran into Rock and roll hall of fame
It's sad that they induct non-rock acts but they're still waiting. If you look at last year when they inducted their heroes Roxy Music the crowd cheered louder for Duran Duran!
Nick You're beautiful in Notorious too❤❤❤❤❤
@@annaboss3631 thanks but I'm not Nick Rhodes 😢😢
No doubt
Norma Tible But not on the strength of this song. My least favorite of Duran Duran
The bass line and drum on this one is just insane, timeless, and so funky
Produced by Nile Rogers. Him working with those two was a dream team.
Simon's vocals at their best, Nile Rogers on guitar ... nothing compares to the 80's as far as music is concerned
Nile Rodgers saved Duran's career with this album.
If you know, you know. 👍 Drummer and guitarist quit, Chic Organisation slid in and said don't worry...
@@kevteopyou are so right on that one! Roger Tayler who?
Let's be fair, our parents who were born in the 70's and the 80's definitely had the best music hands down 🙌
...the 60s though truly had the best!
I was born in 1951, and i believe that the best music was in the 80's, and DD was the best of the best !!
Damn Right
I was a teenager on the 80s and we sooooooo had the best music
I can’t say that I’m a fan of today’s music, more so stuff like this tbh

Hahahahah
So this is where the Notorious B.I.G's song came from
Nile Rodgers was distinctive and freaking crazy on guitar! Love this song!
Almost 20 years later
"he did it again" , that lovely classy funky touch 💗 in 'pressure off 💗edit 30 years , my mistake.
He produced this album, why it slaps so hard decades later
@@alisterfolson yes, I know. Nile crosses across multiple decades/

He jammed when we could not.
Simon's vocal on this is epic...
I agree....so strong and very powerful as well!!!!
Yes. But his vocal is always epic. One of the most distinctive voices
YES
There can be no discussion about how great the 80s were in terms of music and not have Duran Duran in it.
Totally agree!!!
SPANDAU BALLETT ALSO.....
DIRE STRAITS ALSO......
Chic organisation were behind this hit. That's Nile Rodgers on guitar. 😁
Put them in the same conversation as Prince, Michael, and Madonna as the starriest musicians of the decade.
Nile rodgers keeping it funky notoriously!
Not sure what I love most about this song...the bass, the horns, even Simon on that tambourine! Thumbs up if you're still listening in 2020.
Have to admit his dancing's pretty good
I am sure : JOHN TAYLOR !!!!!
When I was young I just liked that chick striking the poses for no reason to punctuate the song. I am a simple man. But I agree the song good... Stood the test of time
@@JTforeverL Yessss! they should have only filmed him!
yes , still better than most of the tripe around today
This is a true story I'm about to tell you. This song came out when I was sixteen, I happen to be 50 years old now. I wasn't happy with my parents and I didn't like high school anymore, I made a couple of strange half hearted attempts at running away from home. My parents weren't sure what to do. They forced me to go to a psychiatric ward for teens. It was a very frightening experience for me. I was a good student and I never messed around with drugs or alcohol. There were some rough kids in there. I couldn't understand why I was placed there. I got diagnosed as having bipolar disorder. So one of the groups they had during the day was occupational therapy where you make crafts. One of the first things to make was a leather wristband. You could put your name on it or some other word. Since I didn't like it there and I was angry, and I loved Duran Duran and this song was the newest song on the radio, on my wristband I put the word NOTORIOUS. I still remember that.💖
Thanks for sharing ! wow ! great to read your life story Lynn !
I could see that being a scene in a movie!
I was in Secondary three when listen to this song. It was awesome
The impact of music is unfathomable! Sounds good to me it has helped you come through ;)
Frosh at university ...winter ❄️ I believe
This song made Duran Duran

Who is here because is born in 1974 and Duran Duran made teen agers wild back then?
Duran Duran is notorious for making great music 🎼
Also for being wild boys

John Taylor is the most underrated bassist in history.
Chip Douglas yes but for me he is TOPS
No way Power Station Band and my make believe BF lol
Agreed!!!
I call it, classy funk.
Chip Douglas I agree. He is even better than the bassist of Toto. No offense meant for Toto fans, me included, I Love Mike porcaro, but John plays excellently
Probably the most underrated band ever.
you obviously are not Gen X..lol you should've lived it ...awesome.
the most underrated is the Sparks
Any band or singer that had at least one no.1 hit could never be considered underrated by definition.
Dad said: "Remember son, the best bands always British"
yeah and now no good music -> best in charts always black person from USA
That bass, that bass, that bass! 🎸 🎸 🎸
l love The bass on this beautiful song!!! Duran Duran my best boys band on all the Time !!!🤩🤩🤩👍👍👍👍👍👍💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃
@Realist 1801 No. All John. Nile is a guitarist, not a bassist. But he had a lot of influence on this song.
That hair! That hair! That hair!
That face...that face....that face
Pretty damn funky, no?
Duran Duran goes funky, and I love it. John bass is killer!
☺😍❤❤❤❤

@Realist 1801 Nile is at the 1:37 minute mark on guitar.

Exactly!
Finally, I was searching for that kind of comment 😂❤
Ah, the 80s. What a time to be alive.
True
The '80s had about so many problems as we have now. The AIDS 'epidemic' (in actuality a pandemic) was killing people, and nobody knew what caused it. There were no treatments. It was a death sentence, and one which made COVID-19 look like a mild head cold. Jerry Falwell and his 'Moral Majority' were trying to turn the US into a theocracy. The US and the USSR were still engaged in the Cold War, and everyone was certain it was only a matter of time until we nuked each other, and took the whole planet into a Nuclear Winter which would wipe-out humanity and most other life on the planet. As to '80s music: Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) were crusading against anything which was even mildly 'offensive,' calling for warning labels and censorship to protect the children from anything remotely involving sex, violence, or profanity. In short: The '80s were a LOT like today. (And we were all saying, then, that the '60s had the best music and that the current ('80s) music sucked, in comparison.)
It really was! So cool to be in your late teens and early 20s during that decade 😃
@@catdubh4787 you forgot about all the fucking serial killers
Yes, you're damn right.
That's the sound of pure class.
I'm not sure there's ever been an all male band who put together so much gorgeousness in one group. Back in the day, I thought Simon was the handsomest, but Nick Rhodes really had it going on in the background. Those cheekbones! They all still look and sound good today.
when i read statements like this it dilutes their magical talents.

What a pretty breathtaking woman ,hello my darling ?
I was a teen in the 80s and then young adult. I was in high school and skipped last period so that we can drive out in the snow storm and see those guys in the concert and it was well worth it. Great concert. We were afraid that we will not make it, since it was terrible snow storm, but then realized that Duran Duran guys were delayed even more than the rest, so after a bit of hanging out and meeting some fun people in the audience, we got to see the delayed show. Amazing, loved the 80s and all the great memories that go with it.
was that the MA show in march ?
@@Mama-Dee1969 It was in Hardfort, CT. I believe it was mid winter, but can't recall exact month at this moment. I think it was 1984 because I was a senior in High School and skipped a few classes at the end of the day to go.
@@photoshoott2022 yea so it was march I was up in Worcester MA and there was a week of storms lol before ours I remember the rumor going around that Simon had slipped and was not going to be able to perform then he showed up. Then a year later seeing the sing blue silver Doc and lol there it was hahahaha. I was 14 lol 8th grade had been going to concerts for a few years already my first was 81 blondie but I only went because I LOVED the opening ACT :D
@@Mama-Dee1969 that’s awesome and a great story / memory. Yeh, we had so much fun. Didn’t care about the almost 5 hour drive each way and the storm. We had great time. We also saw tears for fears in radio city music hall NYC and opening act was book of love, but the ones we saw the most in concerts were Depeche Mode. Absolutely amazing time to be a teen.
I'm 24 years old, I love Duran Duran, and i love so Much Notorious!!
Duran Duran is the best New Wave Band Ever to me!

Damn I forgot this song was in that movie.
I am a drummer and I love this tune. Steve Ferrone laid it down thick. he is a Groove monster. and yes that Baseline is badass. one of my all-time favorites. I was born in 1962 so I was cutting my teeth on this stuff.
Top super groupe des années 80 les duran duran merci 👍👍👍👏👏👏🇨🇵
Happy 60th….best year ever to be born. We started out with The Beatles.
Yeah Steve Ferrone was good for them, not sure why he left them. I wished he had stayed.

@@ashenarayan1676 he was a session drummer for lots of bands and singers, and bonus fact - he playes on Ordinary World. The song written by Le Bon, and when recording they used a drum machine. But Duran Duran are a real band and insisted they have a drummer on the track - and Steve Ferrone lives in London, when DD recorded this - adn asked him to play on it. of course he played and toured with them too before this. Skin Trade, Notorious album in fact, and subsequent tour.
The most beautiful band of all time. LOOK AT THESE BOYS!

What a pretty breathtaking girl ,hello my darling ?
One thing I admire on this band: They never give up!
Never give up is the key for success.
They never gave up because they had the musical talent and song writing ability to succeed. Otherwise they would have done something else.
Talent and muscianship are the keys for success in music, just as much.
why would they ever need to???
@@ColtraneTaylorA lot of early 80s bands had talent and musicianship. But many failed to make it through the decade as times and tastes changed. Innovation and adaptability are also important.
@@evertonporter7887 I don't think even that produces the ability to write good songs. I don't think Simple Minds experimental stuff was incredible. I'd say that was hype for the English music press who are among the world's lowest authorities on good music.
Who's here in 2019?😎

its almost supernatural how the 80’s gave birth to all the most talented , biggest bands in history : Duran , U2 , The Smiths , The Cure , Depeche , New Order , G & R , R.E.M , Pantera , and that’s before we get into the electronic/dance bands & solo artists like Kraftwerk / Cabaret Voltaire / Tangerine Dream /Vangelis . We will never see their likes again
Amazing band!! Endless hits!! Incredible!!
Musicians in the video:
1) Simon LeBon - vocals/tambourine
2) John Taylor - bass
3) Nick Rhodes - keyboards
4) Nile Rodgers - guitar
5) Steve Ferrone - drums
They reached the very top with regard to fame and fortune. But they still remain one of the most underrated/ underappreciated bands of all time musically.
