8 years ago my friend wanted to adopt a 13 boy then he discovered there was a 17 yr old brother getting ready to age out. There wasn't a chance he was going to let that happen. The brothers had learning issues but both graduated high school and his younger son is now attending a technical school and his older, bonus son is in the military, married and will make my friend a Grandad in April 2023. Adoption blesses everyone!
I emancipated out of the system at 16. At 53 I still wish I was adopted. God bless you Peter for taking in Anthony who is a great kid and raising him well as your own Son.

I suffered through too many abusive foster homes and aged out of the foster system without a family. You are forever lost without the backing of a parent, 2 is even better. Starting from scratch for all life skills is drastically draining and I have complete empathy for those people whose spirits are broke as children because it is not reparable. So the next time you see a homeless person on the street remember they were broke as children and this is a spiritual battle that we are in and send them good vibes. They have been dehumanized throughout there lives so even a kind smile while give them a peace of love that they need to heal.
So sorry for everything you went through. You deserve and deserved so much better. Thank you for being empathetic to others. So many just disregard ppl that are struggling. There is a reason for their struggle and it's far more than most ppl could ever imagine let alone endure. Sending you all the love.
Thankyou Anthony for your strength. I grew up in the system of Connecticut and was never adopted. I'm now 62, married to a very kind man of 43 years. I'm so happy to see someone stand up for children of the system and help with awareness. ❣🦋😊🦋
I met a girl who grew up in the CT system and aged out. I met her through a friend, and man. My heart is heavy just thinking about her. She'd tell me how the workers at the "care homes" would laugh at the older kids, telling them they'll never get adopted or get out, and they'll probably end up on the street selling their bodies or drugs or both. These words were from people who are supposed to have these kids' best interests at heart. It's devastating. This was in the late 00s/2010s though, so you mightve had a different experience e. I'm happy to hear you found someone with whom to share you love.
Hi there, you don't know me. I just want to say that I appreciate you!!!! I would love to hear your story if you want to tell it to me and maybe we can share!!!
My parents are Americans and they adopted me from an orphanage in South America when I was a baby. I am extremely blessed and I’m happy you found a loving family too❤😊
My brother was abandoned at birth and our parents adopted him after he spent one year in an orphanage. When I was born he already was legally our parents son. And I'm so grateful he became my big brother 🥰
I've always thought newborns we're in such high demand they didn't spend any time in foster care. Does anyone know why he wasn't adopted immediately? I'm glad it worked out for you guys I'm just wondering.
@@trisha7976 he was born in 1972 in Germany and his father was black. Nobody wanted a black baby in Germany back then. His mother abandoned him as soon as he was born and there was no family interested in fostering or adopting him. Sounds like he wasn’t abandoned at an orphanage but give into their hands… It sounds like the mother was abused emotionally by others and didn’t have the support she needed. Be careful not to judge what you don’t understand. Also, by being judge mental on this way, you only make it worse for your brother who must not understand this.
We adopted our youngest son 1.5 years ago. He is 16 now. Our life was truly blessed by him. I have always wanted to adopt a teen but my husband was in the Air Force and always deployed. Reflecting at the end of his career he came to me and asked me if I wanted to adopt. I saw our son on the waiting kids list for our state and as soon as I saw him I knew he was our son and that he was supposed to be with us. When they found out that we were adopting a teen.. neither were shocked. 🥰 An they welcomed him into our life with open arms. God is so good.
You sound like an absolute angel❤. You know, I don’t say this lightly because it’s something that I am very passionate about because now as a parent myself to 3 children, I realise that my mother who brought 4 of us up on her own (she left my father who was physically violent with us) had to work three jobs to keep us fed and happy. I see how SELFLESS and LOVING a true parent is and how much work is needed into parenting every child. You have my utmost respect. I see how much love is needed to bring up your own flesh and blood and for people like you who ADOPT children that are not yours and love them as your own is so precious and selfless. My hat goes off to you and every person who adopts any child and loves them unconditionally. It’s hard enough being a parent and to take on children with all the responsibilities that come with that is (to me) a feat all it’s own. ❤ please remember how special you are and I pray you keep doing what your doing because the world needs more people like you. God bless you and your family. Also, I bet your house is the house that holds the Christmas celebrations and family get-togethers ❤ with all the presents and food lol😊

It's very hard to adopt a child these days. I understand the extra precautions in order to make sure that this child has a stable home, but it's like they expect people to have a mansion when the child is literally sleeping on a cot in the very first place. 🤦🏾♀️❤️
God is amazing wonderful beautiful he will make it happen many blessings tu you and your family
I am 1 of those who aged out !!! I've known so many!!! I was 19 when I left. No longer a ward of Az. God knew what was going yo happen because a couple of years later, I reunited with my mom. We worked through all of the stuff we needed to. We had a great relationship afterward. I'm so very happy and overjoyed for your family. I've been there, thank you for sharing and being seen!!!! Lots of Love and blessings!!!!!!
Wonderful Father with a respectful well-behaved son ❤ You two meant to be together and I thank God almighty for his guidance and blessings on y’all 🙏🙏❤️🫂
The foster system is horribly flawed, and corrupt. Anthony, you are a wonderful young man, giving back, and paying it forward, so other teenagers can have a chance to be happy in a forever home. Bless your dad Peter for adopting you! Both of you are so inspiring!! Love truly conquers all!!
Such a beautiful young man, I’m so glad he found the best dad ❤

I just love you and your dad. You and your dad, are such a blessing to so many children 😊
I think it’s great Anthony that you’re educating people that most teenagers don’t get adopted. It’s sad really because people want babies but could be missing out on a meaningful relationship with a teenager.
My brother Peter may Allah bless you with all happiness and respect..... Anthony be a very good son dear child....may God bless u
