For me Voyage is the most overrated. The airtime is plentiful but it's not nearly the best. And everyone says it's butter smooth and it definitely isn't. I still like it. It's in my top 20 but comes nowhere close to top 5.

Voyage is actually the most overrated coaster I’ve been on. Here’s part one
100% agree! It was my #1 when I first rode it in 2022. But after riding a ton of other woodies since then, and riding it again in 2023 (at HoliWood Nights nonetheless), it's dropped quite far. Currently at #29. I have 4 GCIs above it that I think use their speed better than Voyage does.
Agreed that it's overrated. I still love it, but it's not a contender for # 1. The airtime is not all that strong, but there is a ton of it, and it's a very long ride. Some rides have been rough for me, but my last 2 rides were the best I've ever had on it, glossy smooth night rides (NOT at Holiwood Nights) & powerful. Those rides have it as a top 15 coaster for me, but not to the level that others have it.
Welp, I’m going to get killed for this but…
Raptor at Cedar Point is overrated
Like not even top 10 in it’s own park overrated
Absolutely, extremely overrated!!!!! Keeping Dragster in the list, I have Raptor behind Iron Dragon at # 11 in the park, barely ahead of Rougarou & Corkscrew. Mantis & Wicked Twister would rank ahead of it if they weren't defunct.
I agree with your opinion on Fury. It was my most anticipated coaster for years until i got the chance to ride it last year, and I was shocked by the lack of forces. I knew the ride was built for speed, so i wasn't expecting an airtime machine, but i at least expected some heavy positives. Albeit, i never got to pick my row and was continuously placed in middle seats, so i havent written it off yet, but like you said, I really don't see how it can hold a candle to the likes of iron gwazi and velocicoaster
Yes I agree. My first two rides were surprisingly lackluster. I rode on a hot thursday around 5PM and the turns had no air time as well as the treblecleff having no airtime too. The turn after the hive dive felt forceless, along with the helix and some other turns being boring.
While I still have yet to get the front row (they always put me in the middle too) I rode it twice at night, once at midnight; it was a ton better. Airtime on all the turns and the treblecleff. The pull up and twist of the turn after the hive dive delivered forces. The hills had great airtime. The drop is still plain overrated though.
I see the hype, but tons of people put it top 5 coaster in the world and I’ve only ridden 48 coasters and it’s already my #3.
Fury was also a victim of the overhype for me. My 2018 rides were rough, but the airtime was good in the 2nd half. My 2021 rides were smoother, but the airtime was weak. My 2023 rides were smooth and had good airtime, even on the first-half turns. So riding it at its best, I still say it's overrated. It would've been about # 35 out of 630 (2018 rides would be out of my top 50), but those recent great rides had me put it at # 17. I can't see it getting any higher, so even though it's great, it's still overrated. And what both of you said is one of its biggest problems--assigned seating, and how we always seem to get assigned the middle. Front row-far left is the best seat. Back row gives decent airtime on the drop, but so many coasters have a stronger first drop, then every other element hits better toward the front.
Hard agree with Fury. I rode i305 this year and that felt like the ride Fury wanted to be but isn't. It's just that weird lack of forces in places there probably should be. Still pretty great, and the best coaster at Carowinds, but best steel coaster in the US? Best B&M in the US? Honestly, not even the best B&M in the Southeast...
Is Mako your favorite B&M in the southeast? If so, that's a hot take. And I love it! I could be on board with that.
Intimidator is the best ride at Carowinds, waaaaaaaaaay more airtime!!!!!!
I think how you rank Coasters really comes down to your expectations. If you go onto a ride like fury325 expecting it to completely demolish your senses like I305 does then you are gonna be disappointed. I honestly got onto fury with somewhat low expectations and was Shocked when it made me grey out a couple times and had very strong floater airtime every time not to mention how smooth it was and the sense of speed
How can you Grey out on fury that makes no sense to me it's forceless
Dear Coaster Community,
Steel Vengeance is the True #1 RMC. Iron Gwazi was everyone's nutt coaster at the end of 2023 when everyone was making their lists of the best, one year later, it's kind of an afterthought. Orion and Veloci-coaster took so much of that thunder away, maybe because of the distraction of the new Top Thrill?
STEVIE is the BEST - Acknowledge It, Vengeance is bae, and Gwazi is the most overrated coaster ever (It's still great, but overrated - It's the Brock Purdy of coasters FR ya Slapnuts!)
Awwe man I thought you were kidding when you said Fury😢. That’s my favorite ride. But anyways I love these overrated and underrated videos! PLSSS MAKE MOOORE!
I'mma get murdered for this but VelociCoaster
I AGREE? it’s a good ride but like it’s not worth all the popularity it gets
I agree even though it’s my #1 💀
Yes, but it’s still amazing
@@CoasterGuy2323 absolutely, just not best coaster in the world material. much prefer coasters like Wildcat's Revenge, Steel Vengeance, Lightning Rod, Maverick, Fury, Voyage, etc
I agree.
I agree with you about Fury. I think I overhyped ot in my head. I love the colors or it and the first drop, but the rest of the ride felt a bit boring to me. Intimidator was hauling the day I was there, so I thought it was an overall better ride. Copperhead ended up being my favorite in the park.
I don’t think Zinger was overhyped by many enthusiasts but DEFINITELY by the park. I don’t think it’s a bad ride and the layout is actually decent. With having 23 rides on it, there are certain forceful moments and the rattle kinda
adds to the fun (FOR NOW). But
honestly I kinda see what you mean 😭
Fury, I305, Steve
Lmao
Here are the 10 most overrated coasters I’ve ridden in no particular order:
Kumba
X2
Mystic Timbers
Raging Bull
Skyrush
Magnum
Comet (Hersheypark)
Hagrid’s
El Toro
Nitro
Phobia at Lake Compounce and Superman at Discovery Kingdom are the best Sky Rocket IIs. No redundant comfort collars here.
I don't think many of these coasters are that high rated: SR2's, Thunderbolt esp. Except Fury of course, it is good but it ought to be. I agree with its rating to a large extent. Contrasts nicely with I232 in the park as well.
BTW on SR2's the rise to the top in the front row is nuts.
Fury 325 being considered overrated is probably just an example of people hating popular things.
Lightning Rod >>>> SteVe although I do support the fury take. There’s some redemption in this video.
Not sure why Ride of Steel is on the list. I have never heard anyone hype it or it's clone at SF America. Now Superman the Ride gets hella press. Mystic Timbers should be on this list at #1. It's the most overhyped coaster ever. It's not trash. I like it. But what a let down after I first rode it. Apply your Fury rational here. Lightning Rod is lit. But I totally get why you put it here w/Fury. Nice list & good rational
This list is starting to make me wonder if we are running out of coasters to call overrated. I mean, Thunderbolt, El Loco, and Steel Force? Who tf be even RATING those? 😂
The most overrated coaster in my book: Steel Vengeance! I just don’t get it. Airtime is week. Everyone says it’s so “smooth”. I got banged up and jerked around quite a bit and didn’t feel the slightest bit of intensity. Am I missing something?
Mystic Timbers is the most overrated coaster in the United States of America. I would say Velocicoaster but that ride is still actually good I just don’t think it’s close to a top 10 steel coaster.
love the channel . terrible list in my opinion. would love to see your top 100 or top 50 or top 25. top 10 is too hard. or do a tier list of all the coasters youve ridden. either way. love the channel. crazy i saw merger and thought no way cedar flags must of known lol
Imo Iron Rattler is very much over hyped.
One of my least favorite RMCs I've been on.
Thank you for touching base on the sky rocket model. Such a boring coaster, I can't belive these got cloned as many times as they did
I DONT CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK MAGNUM XL200 IS WAY TOO OVERRATED ITS NIT EVEN FUN BECAUSE ITS SO ROUGH
I feel with Zambezi Zinger, everyone is say they overhyped it, I'm trying to think of a word or statement that equals to and I can't at the moment
I'd say riddlers revenge at sfne, that ride was fun but the jolts just ruined it for me
Another is lightning racer, I got no airtime on that thing
The Beast is easily is the most overrated coaster of all time
Mystic Timbers is
@JJJJ-he8bz it definitely I don't get how ppl rank it so high A lot better wooden coasters out there imo
Wow your name is very appropriate for what's oming next.
You like SLC's and hate Stormrunner? We are not friends Sir.
1:07 I agree! The launch and drop were cool but the rest of the coaster was not as good as people made it out to be. It didn’t even feel much longer than Twisted Cyclone lol. Still an amazing ride 4/48
2:15 Have not been on one of these unfortunately- Tigris was closed when I went to BGT.
2:54 I’ve heard pretty eh things about this one. From your description it seems perfectly rated as this is how I hear people rating it.
3:33 Not been on it unfortunately.
4:23 Also not ridden it.
5:02 Havent been on it, but I will say the only person who speaks positively on it is Canobie Foaster as far as I’ve seen. People seem to really dislike this ride.
5:57 Also haven’t ridden lol, but if I were allowed to agree I would totally agree here.
7:16 Not been on it but I’d say you overrated it for yourself before riding as you said if that makes sense. No one really talks about this.
7:32 I have not ridden it but opinions seem to be very mixed.
8:33 I somewhat agree! I used to definitely agree when I got 5PM rides after waiting 3 hours on a Thursday. With rain. The turns lacked airtime and the treblecleff did too. The turn after the hive dive was forceless and the hills were mild floater. But after some night rides (no front row unfortunately), one coming in at 12:00 AM, I definitely see the hype. It had airtime on every turn and the treblecleff was fantastic. The turn after the hive dive was forceful and the hills were amazing. I still think it’s not top 5 in the world as some people say. It only ranks 3/48 coasters that I’ve been on. It’s amazing but a bit overhyped.
Canobie Coaster doesn't seem to mind it when rides knock him around a bit.
But…but…the Golden Tickets told me…
So to your point of the sky rocket 2's I don't think they are bad rides by any means but they can't be marathoned. Every time I go to Busch gardens Tigris is usually a 2 and done cause after that I start to feel nauseous. That being said I can ride every other roller coaster in the park nonstop just fine its just that one. I don't think it is the profiling it just seems to have something about it that makes it not re-ridable. But in any case SteVe is the most overrated coaster I've ridden hands down and it's not even close.
I agree. I've ridden Tempesto (BGW) and Superman (SFDK). Tempesto is trash imo. But Superman is good. The launch is great, the forces are nice, but marathoning is hard. Partially just due to it's horrid capacity, but also cause of the reasons you mentioned. I can go 2-3 times, then I gotta quit (and I can marathon 4D Freespins like it's nothing lol)
@@605coastersyeah I don't know why when I rode superman it was smooth and a good ride, but Tigris was very uncomfortable and gave me a headache even though they're the same model from the same coaster manufacturer. Weird!
@@605coastersI haven't been on tempesto but it sounds like my experience on Tigris. Maybe it's a Busch gardens sea world problem in terms of how they built and installed the 2 coasters and how they continue to maintain and operate them versus six flags with superman.
I put Orion on the same or slightly better standing than Fury tbh...
Orion has no dead moments for me, however is truly a tad too short in duration. Fury has the dead spots & the smooth fast turns don't do too much for me in an empty environment (I305 also).. but it has a much better finale unfortunately stinted by the long straight track before a trimmed air hill and a slightly underwhelming helix.
so about equal
also being 300ft in the air is absolutely terrifying so Orion gets bonus points for that
Leviathan and Orion are both better than fury
I think Orion is the most underrated coaster in history but Fury felt like a perfected version of it.
I agree about SLCs in general and Great Nor'easter. It is my favorite, but not by a lot. I thought that it still was a little rough. T3 was smoother in my experience, and Twisted Typhoon & Gauntlet are very smooth. SLCs are good rides, except the one at Lost Island.
Totally agree about Zambezi Zinger. Forceless ride, bad restraints, rough on the wood track. Either this or Roar is my least favorite GCI, and Prowler is also my favorite.
I could not have been happier to see what was # 1. I have been in total agreement on that since my first rides in 2018. Now I did get by far my best rides on it in June this year, and that did launch it up my rankings, but there's no way I can justify it as a top 10 coaster. As much as I love it, I cannot put it nearly as high as so many others have it. Rides like Velocicoaster, SV, X2, Iron Gwazi, i305 all destroy it.
I’ve not ridden it in a while, but I do think I personally overrate The Swarm. It’s the first (and sadly, so far only) B&M wing I’ve done, it’s possibly my number 1 in the park.
I’m surprised by some of these choices ngl. I don’t hear a lot of hype on Superman at Darien lake, Steel hawg, and skyrocket 2 clones.
The one Sky Rocket 2 I've ridden is Phobia Phear Coaster at Compounce, which does not have the comfort collars. I liked the ride but it does strike me as being all about the whippy laterals on the transitions, and I imagine that if I were wearing any kind of shoulder restraint those would have been really uncomfortable. As it was, they probably would have become too much if I'd tried to marathon the ride.
Sad to say, if I were to name a most overrated coaster it would probably be the one right next to it: Boulder Dash. This is a ride of epic potential, with its unique setting and great forces, and it amazed me when I first rode it several years ago, but when I last rode it (in 2022) it had just gotten too rough to be really enjoyable--it was jackhammering hard. Since then, they put in some Titan Track on the first drop, but I don't recall that drop being the problem. I haven't ridden it since that work, so it's possible it's improved. But I remember thinking I enjoyed Phobia Phear Coaster that day more than I did Boulder Dash, and there's something just wrong about that. Boulder Dash *should* be one of the best woodies in the world, but as of 2022, it wasn't.
I had the same thoughts about Fury 325 as you do but then I rode it at night in the summer and I was blown away.
I went to the L rod round up its first season and it was not open yet still a great event tho
Zadra for me is the most overrated coaster out there.
Steel vengeance and millennium force
Zadra, mid asf
Wildcat (HersheyPark) boy am I glad it’s gone, I hated that ride so much
It was awesome.. 😢
@@Wildcattttt I’m sorry to upset you… but I thought that ride was very uncomfortable. My stomach felt like it was punched a lot by the time the ride was over
Its was honestly really good im kinda sad its gone
Actually, people trashed on it relentlessly. Only if you listened to me, would you think it was overrated, because I felt like I was the only one who really enjoyed it. I held onto the lap bar to keep from getting stapled, and I was fine. Only a little rough, and pretty good airtime and laterals.
Kumba and magnum
Pantheon is so overrated
Thunderbolt is definitely not overrated. All I hear Is terrible things about that ride.
