TOGO actually built an Ultra Twister with a dive loop instead of a switch track. It currently operates at the Rusutsu Resort and it is high on my bucket list, mainly due to how fast you zoom through the last two inversions.

Another thing of note is that building or designing roller coasters in-house are cheaper than many may think. Maybe not build the whole thing but hire certain companies to fit your vision. An Arrow suspended coaster could be built with Vekoma track and S&S trains since they still make Arrow trains. A wooden wild mouse would be an inexpensive and popular ride. Another thing to note is a British company, Taziker coasters, a subcontractor and design firm. They have retracked parts of the big one and have stated that they are flexible and have also provided knock-off Schwarzkopf track for the relocated Zambezi Zinger in Columbia and new track for Colossus at Thorpe Park. If a park wanted to, they and Taziker could bring back an exact clone of an Ultra Twister whilst being rather inexpensive. Great video!

@@lucasromanchuk2868 S&S got the patent for the concept and made two versions that look and are regarded as way superior, those being Dinoconda in China and Eejanaika in Japan. Still not many and the last one was built in 2012, but I'd say that's probably because of high prices and the very complex system that goes along with it. While beloved by enthusiasts, I don't think it's worth it for most parks as more simple roller coasters like Intamin Blitz coasters or B&M Hypers will draw equally as many people into a park.

I got to ride the Ultra Twister at Nagashima Spa Land earlier this month and it was surprisingly not as bad as I expected. The fact that it's all in one plane and has no turns means there's limited room for Togo to put bad transitions into the ride.

IIRC the ultra twister that was built in the US had very poor maintenance and thus was quickly disliked. Grew up riding the Swiss Bob at Opryland, the Screamin' Delta Demon. It's been a long long time now so my memories fade, that is still one of my favorite amusement park rides. There were always rumors about how one time a bobsled flipped over in the rain and someone died, and while I am pretty sure that never actually happened, it seems very plausible and definitely added to the intensity of the ride experience. The fact there's still a few running tells me that they've not really been a major safety issue over the decades, but they certainly have an air of unrestrained terror that roller coasters and most other amusement rides are devoid of due to their vehicles being connected directly to the track they are on.

I don't know why S&S hasn't done another 4th Dimension as X2 is universally considered a contender for the world's most intense coaster. It's on the top of my bucket list and if only somewhere closer topped it

It's Hella expensive. Eejnaika cost 40M, and it doesn't have those X2 fiasco at all. Dinoconda also not much better either in terms of price
With those money, you can build a B&M Giga, with real second half. And spare money to build small Gravity, or complete retheme

SFOT is my home park. La Vibora actually feels scarier than a lot of the much newer, crazier coasters to me. There's something about the trackless design that seems a little unsafe, similar to some body slides at water parks. Shockwave is a great old Schwarzkopf. Some great airtime, & enough G-force in the loops to be notorious for causing grey outs. I can see how some people fins Titan a little boring, but I like it. Nothing wrong with some good old-fashioned speed, IMHO, & the double helix still packs a punch.
Totallllly agree about ultra twister. I had the pleasure of riding one about 32 years ago at Astroworld, & it was a ton of fun. It was so different from anything else that existed at the time that it might not be QUITE as awesome as I remember if I were able to ride it now, but I'd love the chance to find out! I also tode my first & only suspended coaster at Astroworld. Again, it was super unique at that time. Mellow enough to not be scary for those who aren't big thrill-seekers, but still fun. I always wanted to ride Big Bad Wolf.
Other coasters I wanted / want to ride... Volcano & X2 . Oh, & Roller Soaker at Hershypark, just b/c I love the combination of a roller coaster & water ride.

    Guys, I have a poll-like question for y'all:
A very rich businessman from Brazil, called Alexandre Costa, is planning to invest around 2 Billion Brazilian Reais (391 Million Dollars) or more in a Theme Park to be opened in 2026 or 27, and for sure will try to bring a major coaster to the country. As he is the owner of the country's largest chocolate franchise (over 3000 stores, expanding to US now), he is inspired by Hershey Park, and although he doesn't have the budget in U$D to build something like it, he will still try to accomplish something similar. In the hypothetical situation where he would be willing to spend up to 40 million U$D in a nice coaster, which model would you guys like to see? Brazil's has already been home to the Colossus' prototype, and held the record for most inversions until that very same coaster came and took it in 2002 adding 2 more heartline rolls to it, basically cloning Makaya's layout, besides hosting the first Launched/Shuttle coaster Schwarzkopf built (former King Kobra, nowadays called Katapul), so I think it's safe to say that the country deserves a major coaster and this makes me wonder what you enthusiasts from up there would expect to see in a park which the objective is to bring tourists from abroad. Please use your imagination, just try to stick to the 40 Million U$D price tag.
Ps: the park will be located near São Paulo, the biggest city in the Americas, so safety won't be much of a concern. Consider it not so different from, let's say, Ohio (I made the calculations and in 2022 the murder rate was basically equal in both states).

Re: the Gio hypers, I think if you'd have gotten to ride them earlier, you'd be singing a different tune... Titan its first few months ran with the MCBR wide open, and that second half was *nuts* in terms of raw intensity. It's a shame that it doesn't run anything like that anymore (and hasn't since a few months into its first year).
