    I've been using some of these settings for years now, but after changing the more advanced ones, this 5800X3D is hitting over 15100 in cinebench R23! And I had no idea this would be possible with a gen 4 nvme drive, but applications open almost twice as fast as they used to! Only experienced bios users should attempt these settings, but if they are all changed to the proper values, the gains are significant!!! Happy tuning

    I think most people will benefit from just setting CO to -30. Rock solid stable for me, 4450mhz boost all core instantly, and power efficient.

      No need to oc a 5800x3d and you cant go past 4550 on a 5800x3d without touching bclk which i wouldnt do i have a x570 tuf wifi and it does a solid 4450 all core and 4550 single with a -30 uv and cpu temps also dropped about 20c its crazy how a -30 uv helps higher clocks while gaming less power and runs cooler@Savage-zi7tw

    Perhaps I am misunderstanding you but the way you just said "update BIOS and reinstall windows" is NOT how that works. You can update your BIOS and then go right back into Windows after the update is done and the restart sequence is completed. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REINSTALL WINDOWS EVERY TIME YOU UPDATE THE BIOS.
    I will agree if you don't know what you are doing in a BIOS or how to update it, leave the BIOS alone and get someone that knows what they are doing to help you.

    Hi! Okay. I watched this whole video, and wrote down every single change you made, big and small. I have the 5800x3d, and I have a question. My cooling solution is the arctic liquid freezer II 360. I am wondering if I can do all the changes you made, and run with the AIO not running at 100%, 100% of the time.
    P.S! I ordered 3 of the new alphacool apex stealth metal fans, (best fan on market), with intent of putting them on the AIO in replacement of the arctic OEM fans. (These should be able to run at 100% and be super super super quiet) but they are on preorder for 7 more weeks

    • @South_0f_Heaven_
      @South_0f_Heaven_ 9 місяців тому

      Just curious why you want to change the fans on that cooler, I have the same one and have always ran the fans at 100%. They are rather quiet tbh.
      If you wish to increase performance you need to keep the temps down on everything which means increased fan speeds. If you’re expecting max performance on a silent fan profile it’s not going to happen. It’s either one or the other, can’t have both.

    • @Mattdokn
      @Mattdokn 9 місяців тому

      I had that cooler, the aio fans plug into the aio itself right? I think it runs the fans as the same speed as your pump which you don't want. unplug the fans from the aio and put them on the CPU fan header

    U should play with trfc timings as well. saw it was over 600 and 400something, need to get it down. Sure the 5800x3d is not as cranky about timings as the non x3d skus but when a game is not taking advantage of the cache it so nice to have tight timings. and ocing with pci-e to 102 or 104 depending on your mobo/cpu is not a bad thing either.

    Uh I want to use all my sata ports and nvme slots and my graphics card slot. Why does a motherboard have all these connectivity options if they have to be disabled to run 1 thing or another? Its so stupid. I mean yeah higher end boards will allow it but I shouldnt have to worry about this at all in my opinion since the board has the slots for it. Also, I dont mind running my rx7800xt at x8 with pcie 3.0. It still has enough bandwidth for whatever I throw at it. So i will use both of my nvme slots.

    Hello everyone, this is a real case. I followed all the steps in this tutorial as well. Before doing the tutorial, I also had the curve optimizer set to -30, PPT at 100, TDC at 70, and EDC at 100. I decided to restart, and the PC rebooted with a warning that my CPU had exceeded 90 degrees. I got scared and turned it off. Then I tried to enter the BIOS to set everything back to default. I managed to do that, but my CPU temperature kept rising up to 110 degrees. I don’t know if I’ve killed my CPU or the motherboard. Please, I need help. I also advise against following this tutorial with all due respect to the author, especially if you are not an expert. Now my PC is unusable, and I feel really sad

    • @Spartan536
      @Spartan536 5 днів тому +1

      The good news is your max thermal limits are 115C where the CPU will just stop to save itself, unless you disable that in PBO by setting PPT to something like 180.
      I am currently running Curve Optimizer at -30, PPT and ETC at 100 and TDC at 70, it dropped my temps 13 degrees in Prime95 small FFT testing from 90C to 77C, so it works for me. You are either facing a cooler failure or there are some other settings in BIOS that are causing your system to overheat.
      My motherboard is an X570 ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero, and I am using their EXTREME phase mode which uses all 16 Phases for power delivery. The binning aka "silicon lottery" of my CPU plus the capabilities of my motherboard will likely have a major influence as to my ability to undervolt vs yours.
      I will also say UNDERVOLTING does not kill CPU's or systems, it can make a system unstable and cause random crashes but its incapable of killing a system. OVERVOLTING is what can kill a system.

The 5800x3D has 20 pcie lanes, so 16 lanes for your GPU and 4 lanes for your ssd using the m2 slot that connects directly to the CPU (the slot between CPU and GPU basically). Is there a reason to use your recommended config instead that one i've already mentioned?. i'd like to know more about this :)

      it depends how ur mainbord is build. some have 3 m2 where the 1 or 0 called slot has a seperat pcie cpu conection so the pciex16 slot has 16 some have it on one bus as u say 20 lines. The best way to tweak a 5800X3D is to keep it cool (under 75C on full load) where it will hit its 4.5 Ghz single thread max and its 4.45 Ghz all core max. From there you just let it rip and do its thing, the 5800X3D does not benefit from forced overclocking (less than 1% performance per 100mhz), its pretty much undervolt, chill it, and let it do its thing.
