    I'm literally from the UK but born Chinese. I am so fascinated in teaching in China and making this a life. I have gotten my TEFL, but as far as that have no idea where to start! Your video is so interesting, even if it's a small bitesize!

    is it hard to learn to speaking english in chine becaues i think it is it's hard for them to understand of the language still

    • @wobwobliu
      @wobwobliu  2 місяці тому

      For our students, it depends! We teach several different classes so there are varying degrees of language fluency. That's where we come in as teachers... lots and lots of practice in class!

    Hi there, what has your experience been as a Chinese American teaching? My husband is similar to you, so was just wondering what your experience has been with finding teaching jobs and working as an English teacher?

    • @wobwobliu
      @wobwobliu  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey there! It's definitely a different experience as an ABC in China... it's a mixed bag! In terms of finding a job, I went through an agency that helped me partner with my current school, which I found helpful. I'm not sure what the hiring process looks like as much for someone pursuing a solo/individual contract. I have another vlog that answers other questions that you may be wondering, if you're curious :) ua-cam.com/video/XBcjamoSEuY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ElaineLiu

    Dear lui ! I wanted to ask if it's possible for a hijabi foreigner teach in China. I'm a English department's student and I'm planning to find a job there, but I'm afraid if it isn't possible since I'm a hijabi. Do you have any idea sweetheart? ❤❤❤❤

    • @wobwobliu

      Hello there! :) This is a great question, thanks so much for asking! Short answer is I do not know the answer to your question unfortunately. As far as I know and can suggest, I know that going through an agency is a great help when finding a teaching job. For me (as a Chinese American), it was helpful to have a reputable agency that represented me and advocated for me when looking for jobs. This helped with any kind of predispositions regarding ethnicity (many jobs like mine tend to prefer Caucasian faces over Asian ones). I also know that most teaching positions require English native speakers to teach, so having this would be a great help with the application process!

      here's what the Bible has to say about celibacy jim:
      1 Corinthians 7:32-35
      "I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord."
      hope this helps!

    Has teaching in China returned to the way it was before the pandemic? I returned to work after 6 months of pandemic lockdown but unfortunately, the government shut down most of the schools in Qingdao. When my family found out, they said i should leave. Then I found out my father was dying of cancer so i really had to leave. Hoping to return soon if there are opportunities like before. I miss living in Qingdao so much.

      Hello! Thank you for sharing, and I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I hope one day you are able to return... Qingdao has a special place in my heart as well. In terms of China's status right now, I would say overall things are back to "normal"... no more COVID testing or restrictions in place!
