@@RBTheMechanic I like to ask you a question after watching your video I took my 2001 Toyota sienna van to a shot to get a serpentine belt put on he told me he could not replace the belt because of my alternator and water pump was not spinning when he was turning it with his hand is that true
@@TheBluesmanBlue if ur alter or any other component is jammed u belt would brake here’s a video u can see ua-cam.com/video/Lb9iG-t8QKo/v-deo.html. This customer came on tow truck his belt broke alternator was jammed so if u drove in and there was no issues I doubt it jammmed U can see in the video belt sitting there shredded in pieces

Ok clean the throttle might help out very much
I wrap the rag on an old toothbrush, tie with a rubber band, spray cleaner on the rag, much easier to reach inside the throttle body.

after you wipe what throttle body with cleaner, is it safe to the engine to spray the throttle body cleaner into the opening WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING? (just for 30 seconds) Just to get it clean further inside? Thanks
Never do that it will show out flame and burn u

Can the throttle body be fixed by cleaning it? The diagnostic showed it was the throttle body and the sensor. I was thinking to replace the sensor to see if it was just that. But thinking of having it cleaned to see if that would work. The van has been just sitting there, not moved in awhile. So im thinking its just stuck or very dirty due to it not being moved. Any advice would be appreciative, thank you
Clean it can fix the idle try cleaning before replacing
My Toyota sienna keeps dipping low into the 500 RPM range and then starts rattling loudly. Do you think cleaning the throttle body would fix that?
It only does this when the car is stopped and my foot is on the brake or when it is in park.
My sienna is doing the same exact thing. I changed the battery. It cranks now but when i hit the gas, it wont do anything. My mechanic told me i needed a new throttle body but ima see if he can clean it instead because the part cost too much. I also sent him this video lol.
Clean it first then try to do relearn with all the light off radio ac heat wiper everything off no load and see if it work

When I have driven my 2010 sienna for an hour or so it may start to miss a little. The major symptom we have encountered is that after letting it cool for 15 minutes it will not restart. Or if it does start it is extremly rough, not enough power to engage the transmission. Waiting for an hour or 2 always fixes it. Summary: (Will not run on warm restart after long drive.)
Check for coolant temp siginal next time it don’t start I had that coolant sensor was not letting car start due to wrong siginal then waiting for like 15-20 minutes it starts
Hello my friend. My 2001 Lexus is doing the same thing kinda. After driving it for at least 45 min or so sometimes it won't restart. I just get crank no start. What fixed yours?
Pls I am having same problem with my sienna 2006 model. After washing the car and engine. I have bought another throttle body and the Pender. My technician asked me to buy them. Still same problem. Is not raising at all when I applied pressure to the throttle Pender. Just stalling. Now engine is showing check engine. What should I do please. I really need the car to be fixed

My nephew's 2006 Sienna's battery went bad. After changing it, it was difficult to start. It will crank and crank, no fire...or sometimes a slight combustion and then immediately stalls. Usually after about 6 or 7 tries, it will start right up and run perfectly. I cleaned the TB per your video, and still the hard start issue. But again...once running, it runs and idles perfect. There are no check engine lights and no stored codes. What else should I look for? I don't think the 2006 has a separate idle air valve to clean.
Ok yes once’s u disconnected the battery it lost idle memory so u need to do idle relearn or drive around with all lights and wipers radio all accessories off and it will relearn it will try to stall out over and over but just find a road where there’s no traffic it will start to relearn idle in like 10-15 minutes of driving
@@RBTheMechanic Thanks! I went through that procedure and it did help, but we still have a random no-start situation. Sometimes it will just fire right up and run perfectly, and sometimes it just won't start. It cranks and cranks. Usually after about 5 or 6 tries, and pumping the gas, it will start and run perfectly. Anything else I should be looking at?

I have a 2010 Toyota Sienna that went into limp mode at 294000 miles while driving on the interstate. The error code was for SL2 solenoid (faulty of stuck). I replaced the solenoid, ATF fluid and filter, cleared all codes. Vehicle still is stuck in limp mode and giving the same SL2 error code. I'm thinking I'll clean the throttle body and check TPS. Any experience with this?

My 2014 Toyota Sienna stalled at red light on ramp after exiting interstate. I had it towed and the spark plugs were shot. They still have my car in the shop. A noise in the top of the engine I wonder if the throttle body is doing this. Or if I broke the engine rods. Ever seen this?
I don’t think u can brake the engine not common and these are tough engines to brake unless u had no oil. Anyways I think we gonna have to wait and see what they discover Update me

Ok try thing do the throttle cleaning then disconnect the battery aftet 5 minutes out it back togather now rpm will be very low it will stall so you will need to try to push the gas peddle slightly to keep it alive and then try to maintain it to keep it alive and drive around for good 20 minutes be safe it will try to shut off every time I take food off gas peddle and be careful with traffic and pedestrians you will loose brakes soon as engine shut off drive it slow and try to do it in safe place and the computer will learn the idle speed make sure I forgot to mention turn off everything light radio ac heat everything must be off
Just wondering why don’t you just remove the whole throttle body and do a through clean?
You don’t need to do all that only the flap gap usually gets blocked also when u remove the throttle u will disconnect the connector and it will loose memory and ur car will stall and u would need to do release procedures also as u see we commanded the throttle to open up by removing the throttle and then forcing it to open up by hand u can damage it

I want to ask, I cleaned the throttle and the idle speed is 1000. Is this normal?
Drive around it will settle down I had Camry few days ago it took 2 days driving and it went down to normal 800 rpm
If my Sienna bogs down when I accelerate, would it still need the throttle body cleaned or does it maybe need a new one sensor? In park it revs up just fine without any hesitation, it's when I'm driving it bogs down and very jumpy. Thank you!

Hi. I just bought a 2001 Toyota Sienna XLE and the battery was dead, the Mss air filter and IAC look new but tge throttle body was dirty. I cleaned it and got it to start easier and stay running longer. It still idles crappy but it drives when I reve it up and put it in gear. I got it up to about 35mph. Very hard to reverse without doing a nutral drop.
A mechanic said it is making a taping noise at the timing belt area and the engine seems to not have very good power.
The idol is around 500rpm but dies sometimes even after I cleaned it. Thanks for your help.
Ok you need to build the idle now it lost memory when batter lost power or disconnected. So now u need to drive this car around in none traffics area be safe from stalls when car stall u will loose brake so try to be in good open area turn off everything light wipers radio any accessories and it should build up the idle in 10-15 minutes let me know it if works out

@@RBTheMechanic Hi. It worked in about 5 minutes maybe 6. Now it will start easier and stay running. It still hesitates to idol up and when it is in gear it takes off like someone is pushing it by hand. Then it slowly idles up and gains speed very slow then shifts hard as well. Also turning the AC on makes it lose power and the rpm's drop to idle.

It’s not maybe just camera effect or car is cold for now and rpm is higher and also it will raise the rpm which is what we wanted so it do t stall
I have a 2006 toyota sienna LE AWD and my check engine light and VSC light have been coming on a lot it seems like when I put gas in it then i tighten the cap and after a day or two it goes off but then it returns when i fill it up Ive had the cadillac converter done so thats not it. it doesn't ride bad at all. I check the code its a P0505 Engine code it says idle air control system whats your suggestion?

Hey Budy I got a 2007 Honda Civic it cranks good the only problem I have when I put it on drive and press on the Gas I dies off it doesn’t have power to tun I press all the gas I runs like 5 mile per hour or when I stop on red light I does the same thing I don’t know what’s wrong with it
Scan the car let me know if it got any codes also clean out the throttle body but before cleaning scan the car for codes
I have 2014 BMW X6 that goes on high idle when I start the vehicle could it be a throttle body issue?
Joseph Dickson these cars are very sensitive so you can do the throttle service also please check if ur car has IAC it’s idle air control sensor which is located down below throttle body those usually are the trouble in these bmws
Toyota bulletin says to NOT spray inside. Instead, spray a rag then clean.

maria felix ok sooo dose the car have shake? ... change spark plugs and coil on those 2 cylinders if u want to conform u can swap the coils or did connect see if it’s has difference I’ll send u a link to one of my video and I do show how I discount coils to figure out the misfire

@@RBTheMechanic My 2013 quit working I don't know what's wrong with it yet. I had to get it towed to my mechanic who said I need to get it towed to a transmission shop. I'm really hoping it's fixable. I'm really frustrated because I need the money for other things.

@@RBTheMechanic It goes into gear easily but as soon as it starts moving it stops. The engine was working really hard to go over 35 mph and it slowly just stopped.
@@kobelcofan yeah that sounds like transmission issue might want to give it a shot change the fluid first and see if there’s any check engine codes
