I re-recorded a cleaner version for the Misfits audiobook with better voice quality (not a high bar ☹) I'm leaving it unlisted so it doesn't show up in notifications as a new upload, but it's linked here: ua-cam.com/video/4r3tKUKEPaI/v-deo.html
I just started listening to your stories a few days ago. I just want to say a couple of things. First, your ability to crank out a story a week is phenomenal. Also, I love you reading your own stories. I don't think I've listened to another author who did justice to their own work like you do to yours.
Thank you, Sara! I'm glad you're enjoying, and I appreciate the kind words 😃 The narrating is a bigger challenge for me than the writing still but it's well worth it if I can share the stories here.
The matrix offered your channel, listened to a few stories, I liked, then did the deep dive and listened to every story you've written in 5 days. Thoroughly like your style and narrations, enjoyed 95% of your Sci-Fi audio adventures. Now look forward every Thursday for your new content. I may go through your 100 some stories again and add comments. No doubt will listen to "The Misfits" again which was an awesome universe and love how you've intertwined other stories into that series, all the best with your channel and into the future and beyond.....
Thanks, MDS! So glad you've enjoyed so many of the stories! That's a lot to go through so quickly😵💫😃 More Misfits episodes are on the way, as well as some other fun stuff too. Appreciate the kind words of support 🙏
I listen randomly so I unwrap a new gift with every play. “It’s like Christmas morning.” Lol. As the story unfolded and the message from Caroline in trouble came through.. my memory of their bond “Breaking the Universe.!” I instantly knew everything was going to be dropped to get to her. It made my day that I chose to press play…!!! Now it makes sense all the other stories are starting to connect.
Nothing more than standing up for myself.!! I know you have many messages to reply to. If anything your stories display is confidence. Most of the characters are sure of themselves.. As a character on this global stage I am one of the confident ones… Wow use that “On a galactic scale I, he, she, they are the confident………” Keep at it I am very impressed….!!!!
Thanks, Keith! Glad you're enjoying them 😃I'm not sure when it will end yet. Like every story, there will be a time, but even after November, when episode 16 will hopefully be released, there will still be so much more to explore!
This story is Episode 5 in "The Misfits" series. If you are enjoying, the entire series can be accessed here: ua-cam.com/play/PLWl-Jc_I2wPAsngY7MCID9sS_98Y2siT5.html
Great story I love how they ended up in Exos. I haven't listened to all your stories but after listening to Exos before the war I wondered what happened. Thanks again!
Thanks, Todd! These stories often do cross-connect like that, so there are definitely other little connections. Plus, I think those defunct cylinders are a great place for a fringe group to hide out. We'll see what they get up to 🤔😃
im enjoying this series quite a bit, i hope you continue writing & posting it. i also wouldn't mind a galactic map so i know where everything is & also what species/sup-race's there are.
Thanks, Debt Runner. Glad to hear it! In this storyworld, it's just people, bots, and the mysterious creatures who built the Kappa artifact. We're still early in the development of things, so I have a vague picture of where things are, but I don't really have stellar cartography in the bag of tricks yet 😃 Definitely have writing more episodes in that bag, though! More soon...
You are so good at this! i can always sleep tomorrow. Oh wait, it is tomorrow. i'll have to sleep sometime today, just not yet! i want more more more !:-)
Late to the party, but glad i still made it! YAY MISFITS! Mr. Rowe, thank you for another short break from reality. I think at this point everyone knows how the youtube works. Every video that isn't a music video starts with some form of "like and subscribe". It might be more beneficial, or at the very least make you stand out a bit, if you didn't do that as an intro. I know i'm buggering tired of hearing that. If a video has a long intro begging for likes and subscribes and here is our sponsor and yada yada yada, or stop the video part way through for sponsor stuff, I tend to avoid those channels. i know i can't be the only one tired of the intro "like and subscribe, it helps out so much". At this point everyone knows how it works and they will either like and sub or they wont, no amount of begging or reminding will change that.
Happy I can provide such a break BB, and you're more than welcome. In principle, I agree that it is annoying, and I would love to ditch the like and subscribe spiel. Would LOVE to. What I think is even more annoying is that I think it actually helps. If someone can show me otherwise definitively, I'm open minded. But in addition to the fact that every major channel does it in some form, I've had multiple people tell me they forget to like until they're reminded. I am definitely ambivalent to your position and more sympathetic to the ditch the pitch side. I'd love it if there were supportive data.
@@RoweLit you’re welcome! I have an idea for a ‘tale of the unexpected’ style short sci-fi story (very much inspired from various technologies in development now), but I’m no novelist. @@rlbf1967 That sounds great, Richard, but I'm very reluctant to consider more developed ideas vs. basic topics. I do always encourage people with good story ideas to develop them further. I was not a novelist at one point, until I had a story idea. I started writing because I had a novel I in mind that I wanted to read and was too young and poor to investigate getting a ghost writer.

Usually it happens on Sunday of the week the story comes out 😄 Seriously, though, I have some idea of the direction, but it's very vague in the grand scope, even though I have a very good idea about each individual story when I write it. I definitely never envisioned Carolina crossing paths with Transom when I was working on "Archaeologix," for instance. It's the same, really, for the whole series, ian. @@iancho3823 Honestly, ian, as much as I like to preach having a plan (which is still always a good idea for a writer), the muse is real. I am constantly doing things I don't understand until the story is over, then going back and realizing suddenly, "Oh, that's why I did that."
@@RoweLit well Prof , you are being very hard on yourself. Just think, about a couple of thousand people enjoy your readings! You're the perfect fit for the job! If your throat doesn't hurt, please, carry on! 💐

That said, I would like to reach as many people as possible, and that stands the best chance of happening when my voice is at its best (or at least not its worst). I'll carry on for them and always respect the right of detractors to voice their opinions--if anything it drives me to be better, so I'm grateful for them as well.
Sorry, Anlze. I had a rough time with my voice that week and have been working on it since. As far as the speed goes, I have to pick one and whatever that is, it won't be perfect for every listener. If you're interested in other stories on the channel, but find them too fast as well, I suggest slowing the playback speed to .75. The voice quality is much better on my other stories.
