We got our hands on the NEW Indian Scout 101. How does it stack up with the previous scout bobber?

- Jarret at Ride Now Peoria hooked us up with the new Scout 101 so obviously we had to compare it to the previous version and see how it stacked up. We go over the key points of the bike and see what Indian improved on.

I am glad you guys are working on it. I have a couple of Dean Speed parts on my old Scout Bobber, and since there are harder to get in Europe, I always receive lots of compliments for them, especially for the crash bars. I just received my 101 (I will keep my old Scout as well), and I am eager to see what ideas will you have for it. Keep up the good work! Cheers!

I have the 101 but the handlebars are to far. What can I put on it to bring them closer.
The increase in compression should help offset the drawback of the catalytic converters in the exhaust for better sound. Time will tell.
Yeah, I feel once we get this massive can off, it will waken it right up!
Curious about your thoughts on aftermarket/add-on modularity across all the ‘25 variants. Feels like it’s been under-reported a bit. Seems like they put a ton of effort into making sure that parts will fit on a 101 as well as a Sport, Super Scout, etc.

Great quick review Mykah. It is shameful that Indian took 10 years to get a Scout model to this level. The power, brakes and more so, the suspension, are all going to bring riding a well rounded out Scout, Enjoyable, exciting and pleasureable. Shame it doesn't have longer fenders for wet rides and radiator protection. Enjoy designing your new parts man.
yeah, I agree, but better late than never. I did see they are going to have the classic version as well but not with all the performance goodies so that's a bummer. BUT! it looks like they did the fender mounts and width the same across the whole line now so one could swap out the rear fender pretty easily

for Seats we are working with saddle men to try and get them to develop a 2 up seat. For mid controls that's a maybe. I have a good amount of products currently in development so I cannot promise it at this time

Since frame is rounded now on 2025, Are you going to make a new design for the crash highway bars?
Yes, We are working on those now. Will have a similar style to last model but updated mounting and I believe stronger
Lookin forward to seeing this thing on a wheel dyno with a "proper" (not factory EPA mandated) exhaust.
I just called you a couple of days back asking about highway pegs for this bike 😂.

Really curious to see those dyno numbers, I’m gonna go ahead and guess we’ll see 98-100 whp..can’t say where that power will be at though after hearing you say you felt like It came alive around 3k rpm lol
Yeah me too! I'll try to put it up on the dyno this weekend. We are filming another FAFO this weekend so I'll try to squeeze it in
The first gen scout doesnt come alive til 3-3500.

Sadly, out of the gate, the Harley Davison sportster will beat the Indian 101 in a drag race.
That needs to change in order to get someone like me .
As far as I'm concerned, Harley is dead because of upper management's ridiculous choices and over inflated prices.
Should help the restrictions of customers that keep the old dynos going.
Nonsense in dumping money down a rabbit hole like Harley has become.
Would you be able to buy the triple tree from the newer scouts and put it on an older scout in order to now have the capability to use aftermarket risers like you said? Do you know if the fitment of the triple tree is the same?
That I'm not sure about just yet. I need to get my hands on the bobber version. Don't know for sure if they did the risers on all models or just the 101
@@DeanSpeedCustoms I’m pretty sure the risers are on all the new models now if you look on the website the pictures show the bobber with the risers too just the shorter ones
@Mikemanzales that is fantastic news. Don't know if it's a straight swap though. They changed the frame and it is not a tubular steel frame in the front cs the old cast aluminum. Feels like the geometry has changed but would need a bobber or a rogue to really compare.
@@DeanSpeedCustoms yah that’s my only question about it too is if it would mount the same with the frame because of that change. Would love to see if they could give us an official answer

I got a white one and I definitely need a new exhaust. The stock one is trash. Makes the dang bike sound like a toy

The bike itself was not bad, Trying to design parts for it was a nightmare. Lots of stuff Harley did, really made it more difficult than it needed to be
Its an interesting new offering, but would I let go of my '24 Scout Bobber Twenty for it? Nope. I prefer my Indian's to have a classic look and find it disappointing that Indian actually deleted the Twenty model on the 2025 line up...I think that's a big mistake!
I feel like they might bring it back. It's not hard to make another. Then, they can do another release year. Manufacturers will space our releases to get more sales. Or bring back old models. Harley has done that for decades.
@@DeanSpeedCustoms I hope so, but I'm not hopeful because isn't the 101 the original Scout designation? I sure hope they are now not considering the 101 to be the stand in for the classic looks for a 1920's style like the Bobber Twenty was....because if so, Indian is far off the mark. Time will tell I guess... still cannot believe they are using a classic designation (101) for a bike that looks nothing like the original 101. smh.
@@BigTimeRushFan2112it wasnt meant to look like the classic, in some ways yes but they wanted it to be modern too ill admit i love the classic look myself, the rear fenders on these are ridiculous. And the new Indian scout classics im not happy with what they did with those really
@@BigTimeRushFan2112its not suppose to look exactly like the original, in some way it is but more modern. And they could have offered a classic 101 pain/ graphic Scheme with the red and Gold Indian Headress look or something

I love everything about the new scouts except that engine casing. Looks very cheap compared to last gen
I really like the 101 but wish they didn't put the gold on it. It's already a busy paint job that does look great and I love it but the gold is too far and ruins it for me.
The 101 looks like a winner but the “gold” forks, functionally superior are aesthetically wonky.
New exhaust pipes are terrible....looks like a leaf blower
They should have stuck with the mini apes and not the risers they make it look awful IMHO!
For this one, I get the risers. It has more of a sporty feel. The new bobber and rogue are much shorter risers and you can do apes on those.
You compare a base scout to a fully loaded scout. It does not make a lot of sense. As the scout 101, and the scout bobber are completely different setup. Also the 101 is much more expensive then the scout bobber. The bobber is meant for lower budgets, and 101 for people who want more "luxury " and "sportiness " if anything, you should have put the same motorcycles next to each other, the old model, and the new model. Then this would have been a great comparison. But this one isnt. You mist the ball here.

Went to throw it up on the dyno today, but I don't have the right connectors for this bike yet. So I won't be able to run it just yet. Kind of bummed, myself
