Federal Court Interpreter Program

This course includes legal terminology and offenses corresponding to Federal Court. Indictments, superseding indictments, federal plea agreements, racketeering, inside trading, interstate shipment, drug trafficking, trademarks, copyrights, corporate law and probate are some of the documents and cases included in this course. Expert witness testimony in weapons, firearms, bladed weapons, typewriters, DNA, fingerprints, and drugs are also part of this course. Mock examinations at the level of the Federal Court Interpreter Examination are presented throughout the duration of this course. Exam taking techniques are also introduced in this course. Consecutive techniques leading to segments of 120 terms are introduced. Simultaneous techniques leading to a speed of 200 words per minute, including simultaneous practices of expert witness testimony, are also introduced in this course. This course consists of 33 hours of instruction, one midterm, one final examination, and it also includes access to our Online Interpreting Laboratory.

Has anyone tried to do the simultaneous interpretation at the end? Phew ! If you can do this to perfection, then, as an interpreter you should be paid higher than the lawyers 😉

De verdad que hay comentarios hechos sin informacion..como decia la abuela "los pajaros van contra las escopetas". Menos mal que el instructor Nestor Wagner tiene tanto trabajo en su escuela desde 1993 que puede pagarle a empleados que son los que le graban y le bajan todos estos videos.

Opinan Uds que una persona cuya idioma natal es el inglés, puede hacer el trabajo de intérprete en español? O son nada más gente que tiene el español como su primer idioma? Soy gringa, nacida en California, pero tengo muchos años estudiando español. Parece que todos en la clase del señor Wagner son latinos
