  • A quick video on how to easily set up 2 monitors in Xubuntu. Setting up a couple of monitors isn't difficult, but Xubuntu can play tricks (mirroring both monitors). This video covers rearranging displays in Xubuntu, monitor rotation, and setting the primary monitor.

Hi, I have a 2000p display of my laptop and I want to add 1 1080p display. When I add the second display the size of everything in this second screen is huge, probably because of the resolution differences. Do you know how I can fix this?

If you're using Xubuntu, sometimes the option to mirror screens is selected. Unchecking the option lets you separate the displays and configure each resolution separately, rather than having both configured the same way. In Xubuntu's whisker menu type the word Display and open the display program. I believe the checkmark option for mirroring is in the bottom left. If you uncheck it 0:34, you should then be able to select the left and right mirror, and configure each of their resolutions independently. (top of the display program shows which monitor is currently selected). After the mirror option is unchecked you should be able to click and drag the displays around, and adjust their resolutions separately. Hope this helps.
